[FIX] 30FPS Recording on GB Roms - Samsung Infuse 4G

Thanks to Jep56 for finding this (looks like gtg had a hand in this...THANKS!) I had no part in this, just making a thread for a wider audience to see, as I'm sure many people would like this fixed.
All this does is replace (backup your originals, always!) the camera.so files with the .so files from the UCKI3 leak. This restores 30fps video to GB.
INSTRUCTIONS
-Download the zip file and extract using a file explorer of your choice.
-Copy the four .so files and place them in /system/lib
-Reboot
You now have 30fps video on GB!
Tested on:
Infused 2.1 (Jep)
S7 (me)
Edit: DO NOT do this if you are on CM7
If you want to load the files on CM7, use this method
Misterjunky said:
Here is how you can do it too:
Get the newest CM7 if you don't have it already.
(9-29-2011)
1: Open the zipfile with Winzip or Winrar.
2: Navigate to the system/lib folder within the CM7 zipfile.
3: Drag & Drop the 4 camera files into the LIB folder.
4: Click "OK" in Winzip window and exit Winzip/Winrar.
5: Copy the CM7 rom zipfile to your sdcard in phone.
6: Flash CM7 according to the instructions.
Doing it this way works fine, but you will not see any
improvement in the video recording frame rates at all.
(no need to change any permissions)

Just tried this then rebooted, I got stuck at samsung screen. I'm running CM7, re installing now. I don't know maybe a bug with cm7?

Not sure. I'd assume it'd work for everyone, but I guess not?
If you'd like to try again, download the UCKI3 rom and extract the .so files from there.

I'm gonna flash infused 2.1
Thanks

Thanks but I actually read about replacing the system/lib files it in another thread. It might have actually been in the I3 thread. I tried it and it worked!

Yup, gtg gets the credit, I read in the KI3 thread that he was going to take the lib files and possibly update his ROM with them, along with the radio and some other files. I just jumped the gun with the camera files, and it worked!

What permissions do you have to set? Or are they already set in the files included in the zip?

The original ones I had were -rw -r -r.
The new ones come in as -rw -rw -rw. I changed them once I put them on my phone to -rw -r -r

In other words we still have to set permission on our phones, correct ?

I simply downloaded and copied files over to /system/lib. No changing permission whatsoever was done. No reboot either. And the camera just worked fine.

Ok Thanks..

I tried it without changing permissions before I went all geek and it works perrfect as the files are in the zip, so no permission changed needed!

Wow... I thought the videos were actually OK before I did this. That just goes to show you that not everyone can see the differences as easily - at first. But now comparing two almost identical videos, HUGE difference. Running Infused 2.1.0 with Infusion 1.1.
Thanks OP and all who discovered this!

awesome
Works awesome man thanks a lot...did what you said to do and now i have 30fps...

Has anyone got them to work on

[APP] Google Talk from 2.3.4 extracted: NOT WORKING, Help Needed!

Hi everyone,
I downloaded the extracted .apk from latest Google Android release 2.3.4
The .apk is atached below.
I have had no success in installing the app on my 2.3.3 ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S. I tried pushing it to /system/app via Root Explorer, but once you try to install package it just doesn't install by saying "Aplication not installed".
Im no dev or whatsoever,so I would encourage anyone who could help to make it work on 2.3.3, Google stated in Google Mobile Blog that Google Talk with Video Chat will be for 2.3+ devices, so it "should" work on 2.3.3.
Any help is appreciated! Share your thoughts!
Try pushing it into system/app and then change permissions. Reboot and post result.

I doubt that it will work until you upgrade the OS version to 2.3.4, it might be integrated with os changes.

That was my first thought too, but after downloading the entire update it looks like that might not be the case. There aren't a ton of changes in there, and only two updated system apps. One of which is gtalk, the other is an nfc app(for supported devices obviously). I haven't looked through anything else yet(I'm slacking off enough at work as it is), but it would appear the changes are minimal.
Edit: found a new libtalk_ini.so file in /system/lib/
That may help? Anybody have time to try?
I really wish I knew how to do this stuff. I would love to give it a try but I'm so lost! Time to do some reading! LOL
The manifest for this apk says the target and minimum sdk version is 10, which is 2.3.3....so there's a good chance that after some deodexing and supporting files this will work no problemo
That's the key. It should work on 2.3+ as stated by Google, so I think i'ts up to deodexing and adding the proper files. Sure someone experienced can do it

Generally, yes.
I got it to run, but I can't tell how to start a video chat. I pushed the apk, and odex file to the system/app directory and the jnk.so file to the system lib directory. Ran Talk and it opened fine...
HTC Hero with Cyanogen 7.0.2
Btw, its very possibly its simply running the standard install of Talk.apk instead of Talk2.apk... I'll try removing the Talk.apk...
-- Confirmed. I removed the Talk.apk from the system/app/ folder... lost my Talk icon in the launcher. Rebooting; maybe it will showup after reboot.
-- Ok, now I'm not completely convinced that you can get rid of Talk.apk when you push Talk2.apk. They both may have to be there.

[i9003] [GUIDE] [APP] deodexed ...

Hi all.... let me share with you the deodexed app of the rom XXKB1....
This is the score in quadrant with they installed ( and sure.... also with lag fix):
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Generally the phone seems more reactive but.... try and let me know what you think about.....
Required:
-xxbk1 stock rom installed and root
To install the app you have to:
- unpack the archive and copy the two folder to sdcard ( you must have /sdcard/done_app and /sdcard/done_frame)
- with you pc get an adb shell and type:
su
mount -o remount rw /system
rm /system/app/*.odex
cp /sdcard/done_app/* /system/app
rm /system/framework/*.odex
cp /sdcard/done_frame /system/framework
reboot
well... the first time my phone doesn't boot so i have to unplug the battery....
in the second boot all works correctly (only time/date must be set again)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DSTILZLV
Are you sure you are scoring 2001? Great man will try. Tried with already deodexed ROM and framework but some how failed will reflash and try again. Thanks for the adb commands.
I have done other bench with quadrant and 2001 is the best result i got..... it's average on 1850....
Well I am running XXKB3 on my phone. I was inspired by your post so went ahead and deodexed, optimized and zipaligned the applications and framework for this firmware. Initially failed to put the app and framework into system with message something like "not enough space left in phone" dont remember the exactly. But kept on trying reflashing atleast 10 times and finally worked it out by wiping both the system/app and system/framework completely and pushing the ones I made. Wooohoooo, Success.... finally. But not interested to put the lagfix.. so keeping away. Now want to put some animation in framework will try next.
EDIT: 7.05 PM______________________
I edited Swype, removed all the languages otherthan english and trimmed it down to 3.5MB from 12.5MB and re-signed it. Working great.

Could you please share how you did all of this with our firmware? There's no stable custom ROM that has all this right now. Also what improvements other than the Quadrant score can you notice?

I also had this issue... The secret it the app is looking for two libraries in /system/lib, they are: libPDMaster.so and libPDMaster_Clipboard.so. So the install is:
1. install DocMaster.apk
2. make /system/lib r/w
3. copy libraries: libPDMaster.so and, libPDMaster_Clipboard.so
4. make /system/lib r/o
Sorry, but I don't see these two files?

this one worked on my rezound, which doesn't have those lib files.
This one is for ICS:

Download "Bloater G2x". Goggle it if you do not understand. It was created by a great xda dev. Works every time. Be sure to thank the people that created it.
Or if there's still anyone out there that's needing the polaris apk, you can always just get adobe reader from the market. Has always opened every PDF file I've ever tried.

that one doesn't look nearly as well done imo.
A single icon isn't supposed to come out of the corner, etc...
This one is perfect.
What is the difference between corners and fast corners?
which one is better?
here's the quote
"What's Fast Corners?
I've made the fade animation when tapping a corner instant so that the corner expanding animation plays more smoothly. Basically this just reduces the number of simultaneous animations going on resulting in less work. Even on my HDPI Samsung Galaxy S this made a slight difference in performance. The tweak is non-trivial and the change is extremely minor but for users with LDPI and MDPI devices this should improve that animation."
I actually tried both, and I recommend fast corners. Seems to look much smoother, though both are awesome

Remember to back up your current Home.apk as these methods will replace it.

[Request] Stock v30a deodexed, zipaligned and rooted

Hi all.
I've tried to fully deodex and zipalign the stock v30a rom using this tutorial but I get continuos (every 5 to 10 seconds) FC on LG_Keyboard after restarting the system, so I'm asking someone with better tools/knowledge to
Create a fully deodexed, zipaligned and rooted v30a stock rom.
Flashable zip format would be great, bin format I think would also be useful for many people.
Thanks!
Have you tried getting the library file of the keyboard and put it in the libraries folder of the system?
See, when you open the apk of the said keyboard, one of it's contents would be a folder called "lib"
The contents of the said folder would be a library file with an extension of .so
What you need to do, is to extract that one file from the apk and put it in the system's library folder. If I recall correctly, the path would be...
/system/lib

It`s not my work, so I won`t share it here.
But you can download from their site, in here:
http://www.htcspain.com/foro/roms-lg-optimus-3d-384/rom-28b-euro-v2-acura2201-57026/
One of Acura`s breakthroughs is that his latest roms come in zip format, so you can extract the apks without needing to flash the entire rom.

I used this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587482
The only apps that gave me problems was the mentioned keyboard, and the camera that I could not optimize (compress).
The deodexed unoptimized version works ok, though.

i tried almost all custom ics roms, there is not a single one run without an issue except XBSA VR3D, but VR3D based on 30c and the camera doesn't capture with 3D button which i reallllyyyyy liked
