Signal Strength? - Samsung Infuse 4G

Was wanting to know if there was anything or something I could flash to get better signal strength. Currently on Infused 1.6 and its better than stock for sure.

Try playing with various modems available. For me, KI3 (latest modem) works sweet. Even KH1 was nice. KI3 modem link in my signature, flash via CWM.

Thanks! I really don't want to go the route of a microcell.

Flashing alternate modems to see if they help, microcell, and bidirectional amps like the ones Wilson Electronics sells are the only options.

Flashed the modem and I gotta say my signal is much better. Haven't dropped off 4g inside the house like I normally do yet!

People have different experiences depending on location. One may get better service than another person. So flash away. Test each modem for a couple days or so.

Thanks. But what are the names of the modems. Cause I went to the super thread and of course saw some modems. But I didn't know if they were for miui.

Any modem will work for any rom. Even miui. I'm currently on the i3 because it's giving me the best service right now. Haven't tested the newer ones yet

I get my best speed and latency with UCKJ2. The majority, from what I've seen, stick with I3 and the more adventurous seem to also like J2.
KK1 kicks but for me

Uckk4 modem

Can someone share the above modem. and if you have tested how is it?
I just posted it in dev forum
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Just flashed it. So far data speeds have been the same as kk3 for me. Haven't tested wifi yet.

Speeds seem to be the same as KK3 but connectivity seems to have gotten better. I live in a 17 story concrete dorm surrounded by other 17 story concrete dorms surrounded by woods in Southern Illinois and I'm getting roughly 1 mb/s download speeds. I cant wait to get back to Chicago to really test this.
Actually my speeds are way faster....all around...4 to 7 down and 1 to 1.5 up....
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
I get horrible speeds unless I'm on wifi like 1-1.5 up another the same down

That's about as good as any of them are gonna get up.....

Are you referring to the 1-1.5mb/s?

Signal killer

Does anyone elsr have trouble with reception when around trees i do it can be the smallest tree ever and bam no signal. If i ever get lost in a forest im screwed. And this is with all my tmobile phones so its not a rom issue.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA
I don't. My service works fine around trees.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Also not a problem for me.
Perhaps you should experiment with different modems

-sent from my POS i897
no camera, no power button but at least I got miui lol
bahaha.... trees. I literally LOLed.
Thats really strange. And surprisingly I have never had that issue.
I would agree with quietly and try different modems again.
Have you gone to the T-Mobile site and checked your coverage area?
Yes i almost always have full bars in my area its when i go by any forest perserve big or small i can watch my signal drop to nothing. This is only noticed when i am talking on phone
Also this has even been an issue with any phone I use on tmobile even the non smart phones

Does 4g not work?
I'm showing 3g right now and normally get 4g in the area i'm in (i'm at work not home).
NVM it just showed the H symbol over 3g. I know it's Fake 4g, but normally here never drop to 3g on GB, seems to be more stable at 3 and rarely get H.

The way ics asop roms handle 3g over 4g is unless you NEED 4g it will default to 3g. Update a app or two and see what happens.

Ahh very cool. NOw i've read about the wifi signal issue which isn't an issue except for wifi calling. Guess it doesn't matter since it crashes but in the future if that takes off and works.
Flashed it last night. Everything is great except the wifi calling. Can't make and receive calls.

Check the development thread, known issue.

Love this. Only issue I have been having is wifi is slow even tried various modems from FB but each seems to have a downfall, lb6 made wifi fastest out of them all but then my service bars bounce up and down and lose signal inside buildings. Still figuring all this stuff out since this is my first flash. Thanks!
This rom doesn't have GPS issues does it?

Did you check the dev OP? It mentions some. And there's others if you actually read its thread and this one.
Hey beast are you gonna update this rom. With the aaries kernel, and if yes would it still be able to use wifi calling?

Sweet!!!!!!! I mean I'd be using BeanStalk but this one has wifi calling, And hey beast if you ever need testers just let me know.
As well I love this Rom and is the only ics rom that has wifi calling

Sorry if this has been answered or I missed a thread...is the difference between this version and 20130227 is that wi-fi calling works on this ROM?
No. And wifi-calling still doesn't work on ICS... closest it got was accepting text messages, but the wifi app still crashed on calls.
Does this ROM support bln?

It's a kernel thing. Proton kernel doesn't do bln but hefe will. The downside I think is that the backlights will stay on while the screen is on. Although I think some people have both working with some combination of rom and kernel. Ultragen I think.
Ok thanks for the reply

[Q] modem/radio

so im on UVMB1 and i was wonder if UVMC6 would work on my Blaze 4G? cause the radio thread says its for the t989
Will it work? Yes. Will it be any better than what you have now? You have to try it to see.
