Hello all,
I started experiencing a strange problem a couple of days ago. When I set my clock to "automatic" time, my time jumps ahead 7 hours. Since then, I have found several people on IRC who are experiencing the same problem with this phone.
As of now, it is unclear whether the problem is caused by AT&T or Samsung, but I can tell you that the issue appears to be occurring regardless of what rom individuals are running.
So, the question; are you experiencing the clock issue?
CheesyNuts just made a thread about this, so there are other having this issue.
I being one of them, but i just set the time myself and its been ok.

Yup, I had to manually set it this morning. I thought it might have something to do with the flash-a-holic fit I had earlier this morning tho. ;-)
Yes I am in mountain time zone and mine was 6 hours ahead but i went back to stock and factory reset from there and it fixed could of been a coincidence i'm not sure had came from the I997UCKI3 beta has worked fine since the factory reset running simply honey
Are any of you running the kh1 modem?

I was using kh1 when the clock started jumping then went to I3 and hasn't done it since.

My Inspire time is going 10 minutes ahead even though I have auto time based on network selected.
Any idea what might be causing this?

You are not the only one. My alarm woke me up earlier then it should have. Try rebooting the phone and see what happens.

Thanks for quick reply. I did reboot and it helped but soon after same thing happened. Now I have unchecked the auto time box.

When I manually set my time, I'll get a spontaneous reboot roughly 25% of the time.
I'm in central and this is happening to me as well. A few other guys in the core droid thread have mentioned it too.
I've just had this start too. Go to market and install clock sync.
I don't want to install another application just for this. I guess NIST must be having some issues.

Same, I didn't even realize it til after I left my house 10 minutes early this morning and my car and watch both disagreed with my phone. Hasn't happened since, though.

Happened to me this morning... really screwwed with my mind as the clock app and the notification bar were showing two different times... It didn't help that the power was out in the neighborhood, and I was relying exclusively on my phone's alarm clock this morning.
Haven't seen it happen since this morning.
Eastern Time Zone.
Happened to me today its the second time this week. Got to work and had my boss check his stock EVO which was suffering the same problem. I reset it by un-checking the automatic time update and then rechecking it.
Central standard time.

Happened to me as well. I just unchecked and re-checked the automatic time and it reset it. Now I just leave it unchecked since I don't change timezones.
Same syndrome here. UK, on O2, Incredible S, Gingerbread.
Drove me mad, started on Thursday.
Have done a factory reset, so far time is ok. Knocks your confidence in a "smartphone"...

This happened to me twice yesterday. Disabling HTC Sense syncing seems to have fixed the issue for now...

It has nothing to do with sense sync as a lot.of people don't use it, including myself...ish. I haven't had it on when I have the issue. It's happening on multiple networks and roms. Could be something else

I haven't had the issue for 2 days now so it seems to have been a good workaround for me. Perhaps others will benefit.
My tbolt started randomly vibrating at random intervals last night, no notifications present, no new applications. Wiped/reinstalled cm7 and reloaded apps with titanium but it is still doing it. Any ideas?

are you also on CM7? I have had this happen twice, and reboots fixed it both times. I am on CM7 and I noticed that ANY input caused it to vibrate (button or screen)

That is correct, unrooted, stock rom.
That may change in the future though, especially with jcase's information.
last night my phones time jumped 4 hours a head of my time . gps is fine it locked with in 30 meters ...
mine did this too, i had to go in and set the time my self.
Weird. Mine also. My wife thought i was messing with the time to make it look like i did not called anyone during the day yesterday.

CM7 - Settings/Date & Time/ and u can either set time, or change the timezone. this worked for me.
I have had the same thing happening. I had to manualy set it.
Mine would jump 5 hours then i went to automatic time it went back then would jump again. Happen after I flashed kh1 modem.

Mine did this too. Odd. What I did was go to settings>date and time>unchecked automatic and rechecked automatic and that fixed it. Hopefully this helps.
I reflashed the previous modem also and it fixed the problem. Must be a glitch with the new modem.

Those who are reporting problems should state their local time zone.
The reports seem to be mainly Central/Mountain time people based on posted locations, no Eastern time zone reports I've seen so far.

I have UCKI3 and I'm not having any problems with time.
Yup in Austin Texas central time and I had the time issue as well. Running manual time right now

Like Eric, I have no problems here. I had a problem earlier but I flashed the KI3 modem and now it seems to be getting the time properly.
Atlanta and have had to set to manual.
Seems like it started after trying the leeked Gingerbread rom. Although I went back to stock and am running Infused 1.6 at the moment.
Every time I try to set it to automatic it jumps ahead 4 hours.
Some one post a link to the modem that came with s7 or the modem before the beta I flashed the beta modem too . I'm betting its the modem that's causing it

my phone freezes up multiple times a day and i have to take out the battery in order to get it to work. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have not experienced that. A bit of information might help others to possibly help you, though. Can you tell us what ROM you're using, if the problem started recently, if it started after you installed a certain app, if you're over clocking or under clocking, and if you've tried to do a factory data reset?
Im running stock. The last time i tried to install a rom i ended up with the picture in the attachment. So i took it to the local T-Mobile kiosk and they replaced it for me. i re-rooted it but didnt rom it at all. And its been like this since i got the replacement phone. never had the problem before. (this was a week ago)
Pretty picture. Kidding, of course. Reminds me of messing with interlaced graphics on my old Amiga.
If it's been doing it since you got it chances are it's probably a hardware issue. I've not heard of rooting causing issues like that. Did you install any apps after you got it, specifically anything that runs/syncs in the background?
Nothing i didnt have on before. umm.. Go SMS and Launcher, Widget Locker...
I'd go the factory data reset route & not install any apps for a day or so and see how it runs. If all is OK, start reinstalling your apps 1 x 1, give each app a day to see if the problem starts up.
If you do a factory data reset and it's still doing it, then it's probably faulty hardware.
Yeah try a factory reset and see how that does. The rainbow screen looks like a gingerbread rom without the correct bootloaders.

So that's the mysterious rainbow screen I keep reading about. Thanks, because I had no idea what it looked like (thank goodness). The bottom part reminds me of Poltergeist "Don't go into the light..."
Is this new phone they gave you refurbished?
I used to have that problem all the time when i was stock... New ROM and it went bye bye...
Hah that picture you got there reminds me of when i stupidly flashed a gb kernel on froyo... still fixed it and matter of factly I'm using the same device right now were all newbs at some point, don't let it discourage you, just take it as a lesson learned and be more careful next time

I'm having a problem sending text messages. wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I can receive fine. I can send on WiFi or 2g, not "4g". Curious Picture messages send fine on all networks.
I have used several ROMs along the way. I have a good list of nandroid backups from various back to stock. Restoring any and all exhibits the same.
Tech support thinks it may be a service issue in my area. My son has a myTouch 4g and has no problems texting.
Anyone have an idea?

Have you tried a hard reboot? Hold volume up + power til your phone reboots. It doesn't delete anything but it. It fixes connection issues for me most of the time.
Good thought. Tried and no go. Interestingly I turned data off and, text messages send. Went to the t-mo store. They guy there took a look at it. He pulled my SIM and put it in their demo unit. My SIM works on their phone. He says "I can get you a replacement but I need to do a factory reset" Sure go ahead. I could tells this guys was a by the numbers guy. I told him sure, then I remembered I'm running Weapons the "weapons" splash and I figured, I'm done. No, he didn't notice. New phone on the way. So I guess I need to revert to stock unrooted when I get the new one.

Lol glad it worked out. Still have to wonder why they won't send ...
It is bothering me. I think I've reformatted everything from within recovery. Flashed a fresh version of Weapons, restored from a very old nandroid, rooted 2.2.2
Just another thing to make me nuts.
I have this issue now as well only on 4g... I went to another rom and all was well the problem came back I haven't downloading anything out of the ordinary so I haven't the slightest clue on why this is happening... gonna revert back to stock if the problem persist.

My Problems began Saturday night, I believe after I flashed back from jboxer's Experimental http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330911
That is when I noticed it.
The only thing I haven't tried is the lg.updater. Since I have a replacement in hand, I probably won't try...

I also tried the experimental, not sure why it would cause these issues after a full/complete wipe and restore of rom's that I've had no issues with at all when it comes to receiving/sending sms/mms.
did you revert back to a OTA stock, and stock recovery, no root at all? That is my last option which will be tonight probably...
I found a nandroid OTA and restored that. That was stock, unrooted. Then I flashed back the stock recovery.
I flashed several roms prior with no luck. Like I mentioned, perhaps the lg updater would fix what is missing?

I can confirm the same thing happening to me on Weapon and stock GB. Messages will send fine on EDGE and wifi perfectly, but it's hit and miss on 4G.

Pretty sure after i tried the 1.1c hybrid rom:-\
so everyone tried a jboxer rom and it started happening? I like his roms a lot but obviously something is going on here.
