ADW Lancher dockbar lockdown?

Is there a way to lock the Dockbar, so when you swipe up while pressing on it, it doesn't disappear.
I checked the settings and didn't see anything to lock it down, but maybe I missed something.

System preferences/ swipe up actions.. you must have this set to show/ hide the dockbar.. also see this... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7135799&postcount=183
Thanks. I figured it out, I just needed to drag down while over where the dockbar was.

It would be nice though if there was an option to lockdown the dockbar.

Agree with you.
It needs to be lockable, and also being able to drag it up to open.
Isn't the author of this app an XDA member? maybe we should ping him to see what he thinks.
I thought the same as you two at first, being used to Helix Launcher and the default X10 Home where sliding the drawer up is key.
However, I've since changed a few settings - slide "Up" to enable/disable the Notification bar (because to me as the bar is at the top, sliding towards it to enable/disable seems logical), and slide "down" to enable/disable the dockbar.
When I first tried ADW I was constantly sliding the button by accident. Now I just press it. It took me about a day to get used to it. Now it's not a problem, because I know that even if I hide it by accident (with that initially-natural impulse to "slide the dockbar button up") I can get it back IMMEDIATELY with a quick slide-down on the screen.
I've also changed the drawer screens to one long vertical screen rather than the horizontal pages - this works MUCH better than the stock/Helix versions because it remembers the position you were in when you were last in the drawer. And it's much better than the crappy horizontal drawer where you have to be REALLY careful when flicking horizontally. I also think that - somehow - because the drawer works better this way, I am less inclined to "swipe" the button by accident when I want to activate the drawer.
So if anything I'd suggest -
1) Disable the dockbar hiding when accidentally swiping up on the button
2) Set "swipe up" & "swipe down" defaults as I mentioned above (as it seems more natural)
3) Set default drawer scroll to vertical rather than horizontal as it works sooooo much better.
Seriously, I know what you are both saying but once I had tweaked the settings it's not been an issue for me anymore. At all. And that surprises me as I was firmly in the "Helix Launcher FTW" camp for ages but now I love my ADW Launcher...
Hi.. rodney and aussie.. Are you taking about the dock bar or the action buttons? Sounds like your taking about the action buttons..
Ie.. The ones with the app drawer Button in the middle.
Think you can switch the dock bar off, which is "underneath" the action buttons, if you don't need it.

Well, I'm referring the actual Dockbar, not the icons within and and not about "swipe up" setting.
If you hold you finger on the Dockbar and swipe up it will disappear. That's fine, but for those that accidentally do it and don't want it to disappear, it just a nuisance. It would be great to be able to lock the Dockbar in place so it would not do this.
try this.. ADW settings, ui settings, [uncheck] Dockbar option...
Think this might solve your problem.
That seems to have worked, thx iceman

When you were swiping up before what you were actually doing was revealing the dockbar, which is hidden underneath the action buttons, however when you reveal it, it has no apps in it and so it looks like you've hidden your action buttons. If you want to try it.. Switch the dockbar back on, reveal it (by swiping up, as you know!) Then drag an icon down into what appears to be an empty space... That's your dockbar. To make it disappear and give you your action buttons back quickly touch the app icon and drag down.. Et voila..

I actually figured out the drag up to make it disappear (LOL) and shortly after that the drag back down to make it reappear. But didn't try adding icons to what appears to be a dead space. Cool
ADW Launcher is amazing, but does have a lot of features, which takes a while to wrap your head around.
I set my home button to open and close the dockbar, I find that to be the fastest for me. I would really love if there was a back button binding as well, because when you are in the launcher the back doesn't really serve a purpose. I would totally put it to home screen. oh well.. still the best launcher I have seen.
I've set my home button to show me a "preview" of all 7 of my screens - felt a little odd at first, but I love it now.. 2 presses away from any screen.
Oh, is there a way to set whatever screen you want to be your home screen?

Yes - In Screen preferences - 3rd option down from the top - default screen..
Then you can change your home button binding (in system preferences) to "move to default desktop"

Worked perfectly, thx again Man, ADW is just amazing.
One feature I love is the ability to add more columns and rows. I set mine to 6 columns and 8 rows, using 3 screens. I just love having as many icons on one default screen as possible, then widgets on the others screens.

*facepalm*
If you swipe it up it opens a drawer where you can put more icons, it doesn't disappear.
There's a new version of ADW out, but I can seem to download it via the marketplace. Anyone have a link to download it? Thx

[Q] Help with ADW Launcher Long press Homescreen icons

I'm having a problem with my ADW Launcher which is currently driving me mad and I hope someone is able to shed light on the problem I'm having.
I am using Streakdroid 1.9.0 update and after factory reset and flashing the rom (installing ONLY Gingerbread), I install ADW Launcher (free) through Android Market.
After installing ADW Launcher, I notice that when I long press on the icons on the home screen, there is no EDIT, MANAGE, REMOVE etc menu. Just a simple trash icon on the bottom of the homescreen to remove the icon appears when I long press on an icon on the homescreen.
The problem is, I remember I used to have a menu with EDIT, MANAGE, REMOVE etc previously with my ADW Launcher when I long press on the homescreen icons. How do I bring that back?
Another difference is that there is no more Lock/Unlock Screen option when I hit the menu button on homescreen anymore.
Anyone can help or shed light on this anomaly, PLEASE HELP. It's driving me crazy just wondering how I can get back the menu!
Thanks!
Have you tried using the paid version? I can email it to you

ADW Launcher EX problems

I'm running infused 1.5.2 + loopy addon + latest infusion kernal.
For some odd reason, ADW doesn't let me long press on icons, the screen or widgets. I can't move anything or drag anything new to the home screens. The widget/shortcuts menu doesn't come up either. Other than that everything else seems fine. I've cleared data(in settings>apps>manage apps>) twice and reinstalled it twice, but same thing, and even after the data clears, it still holds on to my settings. Like I tinted the dock, and it's still tinted. Any ideas?
Did you hit the menu button twice on you home screen and unlock the desktop. It's only doing what you asked it to.
Sounds like you locked the desktop indeed. Hit menu while on home screen and simply tap unlock

[Q] Any mods to make the home button open the app drawer?

Is there any way to make it so when you're on the homescreen (and only the home screen) that when you push the home capacitive button the app drawer opens? The home button would work exactly the same everywhere else but the homescreen, which is where it would open the app drawer.
Coming from a Galaxy Nexus I constantly find myself hitting the home button accidentally.
Could someone help me out? Thank you in advanced.
The only way I know of is to change your launcher, pretty much all of the launchers have that option. Nova, Apex and so on, of course, you lose the Sense widgets.

That's the problem, I actually enjoy Sense. I don't want to lose it.

[Q] Help! cannot access apps in app drawer

I did a long press on the home button on my D2G to view the recently used apps. Now, I cannot get the app drawer to display my apps. Whenever I press the app drawer icon, it takes me to the recently used apps screen. How do I get back to seeing my apps in the drawer? I've tried the back button, long-pressing the home button again, and the menu button, re-booting the phone, wiping cache in stock recovery (cannot launch Droid 3 bootstrap recovery due to problem with the App drawer) but nothing seems to work! The phone has been rooted and band-unlocked (I am not sure if this has any bearing on the problem, but just wanted to mention it).

Did you get this sorted out yet? Are you using the stock launcher or a custom launcher (like ADW or GoLauncher)? Try something, download a custom launcher from the Play store. See if you can see the app drawer using it's own icon on the dock.
