A hard reset will only erase any info that you put on the phone, not any info or services that came with the phone. See my reset guide in my sig.
thank you!
seems to me like its going to erase my number and data plan forcing me to have to go to verizon and have it reactivated because that stuff doesnt come on the phone when u get it.
bump.........

[Q] Push notifications no more, can I dev unlock in NoDo to fix?

So I had to hard reset after my push notifications suddenly stopped work 3 months ago. Wasn't thrilled about spending hours reinstalling apps, configuring settings and restoring bookmarks.
So anyway today my push notifications broke a second time. I refuse to lose everything again and redo it all from scratch. I'm been searching a while looking for workarounds. I found a fix by making a couple easy regedits: http://wmpoweruser.com/how-to-fix-l...a-hard-reset-only-developer-unlocked-devices/
But the problem is I need a dev unlocked device first. Unfortunately I have already applied NoDo to my HD7 a month ago or so. I found the following post but not sure if it will work in my case so haven't tried it yet: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101344
Anyone know if I'm out of luck or if there is an actual way to fix this with out hard resetting OR a way to still dev unlock?
Thanks everyone!

No ..there is no way to unlock a nodo device ..for now...
Waiting for a way to do it for free ...or chevron team to release the service to dev unlock phones ..but for a small fee

[Q] Still dev unlocked after hard reset??

I have a Samsung focus dev unlocked on Mango RTM. I have just received an SD card that is purported to work with this phone.
My question is, If I do a hard reset on the phone will it still be dev unlocked? I also have a couple of custom registry settings to enable MMS.
Thanks in advance.
A total reset will remove the device unlock (everything gone from the phone), but given that you have an AppHub account, you can remove it from the list there and re-register again.

Thanks I was afraid of that. I have an unlocked focus on Mango RTM and just received an SD card for it.
Going to be a bit of work to get it sorted the way I want I suspect.
As I said - if you have a developer account, it is not going to be a problem at all. Remember, however, since you are trying to remove the original SD card, that you might encounter problems other than losing the unlock. Specifically, there might be serious performance lags (for non-optimized SD cards).
What if I have a chevron unlocked phone and hard reset... Anyway to redo the last few steps or something and re-unlock it. This is running Mango RTM.
Also is resetting with the volume keys the same as resetting from within Phone 7? Are they both hard resets and do the same thing?

[Q] Re install an update

Does anyone know of a way to reinstall an update?
I have the latest version of mango for my dell venue pro and would like to just reinstall the update on top of the current update.
Is this possible?
I didn't seen an option in zune to do it.
Thanks,
So is there any way to go back an update then? I reset my phone but it still says i have mango installed.
Might i ask, why are you trying to reinstall the update?
and have you tried to do a hard reset of the device?

Settings > About > Reset Your Phone
yes i have hard reset the device, but it still says i have the same version.
The reason is, I'm having 3g problems and DELL told me i have to reinstall the latest update before they would help any further.
I guess i could just lie to them and say i did. idk, dell = dumb
After Hard-Reset, You're still having issues with 3g?
What kind of issues?
-- I'm not the most technical person when it comes to WP7, but I sure as hell don't mind helping someone if possible.
I'm currently doing some research for you.
I dont have a data connection when i'm connected with a 3g signal. Like i can have 1 bar or 5 and it wont connect. I just reset it a few hours ago so i haven't had a lot of time to play with it, (stupid boss expects me to do work at work for some silly reason)
It happens about 60 or 70 percent of the time. Its supper annoying. I normally have to go to settings and disable my 3g connection and re enable it or restart my phone for it to work.
Have you previously, or currently done a "break" on the device? If so, what kind?
whats a "break"
Interop break, jailbreak, etc...
ps. only way i could find to "reinstall" the os... is doing a hard-reset.
yeah thats what i came up with. Well I'll just see how it runs now that i reset it.
Thanks
No problem, wish I could help further.
