[Q] Stuck At The HTC Logo From A UNITY V9 Update - HTC Inspire 4G

I believe my question should have went here instead of a previous post. But i was in a rush to work and it happened at the last minute. So again here is wat happened.
Im currently running coredroid 8.1. It was working fine. Then I flashed Unity V9 kernel update. That caused the phone to get stuck at the logo screen. I have been at work and just now getting home.
My question at this point is how to get to recovery or where i can flash Coredroid 8.1 again. I do know about the volume + power to get me to recovery. But once im at the screen i cant move up or down or hit power for the phone to go into recovery state. I had this problem once b4 wit getting into recovery but i cant remember what I had to do to get it work where i could use recovery again.
If i have too reformat a sd card or anything so i can get my phone up and running thats fine too. Im hoping I can recieve help with that. The only thing i would need to know if i could some how pull TB from the old sd card so i can put everything back that i lost.
But i figured everything is on the SD Card anyways so i should be able to get almost anything.

ok will " PD98IMG_Inspire_S-ON_FactoryRestore_GB_1.07 " help me in this situation ? It turns the phone back into the stock state from the pd98img file.

OK, if you take the pd98img file off the root of your sd card, you will be able to use recovery again.
The img file is why you can't move around, after you remove or rename it, reboot using the power + volume down, give it a second to run, you will see some writing and you will be able to select recovery.

i did get the pd98img file i was talking about. Once started to run the file. It automatically gave me the chance to be able to move the volume up and down button and power. So i was able to go into recovery. Which is wat i needed to do so i could reflash the whole thing. Thats what i was kinda of looking to do instead of starting completly over.
But thx for your help.

So have you fixed the problem? Are you still stuck at clockwork mod?

[Q] Inspire stuck at HTC splash screen after loading new theme Rooted/Rom'd

Tonight I successfully rooted my phone using bubby's method and installed the Revolution ROM. I had no issues so figured I'd continue with a custom theme which was provided in this post .
I simply, copied the Desolution_1.2.2.zip to the root of the SD card. Started up in recovery mode using Clockwork and installed zip from SD Card. Now, I'm stuck at the HTC splash screen and I can't turn the phone off or bring up CWR.
Is the problem I'm having also known as black screened? Should I be using these posts as resolutions?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12844405&postcount=4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1019868
Additionally, I pressed vol up/down +power to do a hard reset but the phone is not loading in recovery. Pressing power + vol down is not loading bootloader either. Sorry if I'm not using the right terminology, I'm new to this.
Pull the battery, reboot to Clockwork(power+vol dn, select recovery w/ pwr button after it goes through the PD98 checks), wipe data-factory reset and reflash your rom. If that get's you back up and running, nandroid your config then try again. If it fails again, you can restore from nandroid and get with the dev about your issue.
You might also wanna re-dl that zip prior to trying again as it may be corrupt
Don't forget to always check the compatibilty of the theme with the Rom. Some roms and themes don't play well together.

Thank you for the response.
However, after removing/replacing the battery I am unable to access clockwork by holding vol down and the power button. It just boots up to the htc screen.
Is it about time to use the Ace hackkit? If so can someone direct me to the manual? I believe v11 is the most current version.
Quick update. I am able to access hboot by removing the battery and holding vol down on startup. However, I am unable to scroll down to recovery, it automatically starts searching for PD98DIAG.zip file. At the end it asks if I want to update and I've just been saying no. Once the device reboots it goes straight back to the HTC splash screen. I try to repeat the process to access recovery but once again I'm unable to scroll down to recovery.
You have to get the PD98 off your sd card then it will let you select recovery.
Thanks, I went ahead and did that. Now I'm able to access recovery. Looking up steps on what to do now. Heh
I flashed the revolution ROM again and now I'm back up and running. Not sure what it was about that theme that messed everything up but I'm staying far away from it now. Thanks to everyone who helped
need help asap
okay so i have the same problume cant get into recovery mode and i get the htc splash screen, any help will be gr8 thanks in advance

If I am not wrong, buby´s method uses a froyo RUU, so if your phone was shipped with Gingerbread, then you have messed your bootloader....you need to fix that.

Have you re-downloaded the v9 kernel, there were issues with the earlier version (at least there was on this device).
You could try to download and re-flash whatever was the previous (old) kernel.

I understand but in order for me to do that I need to be able to get to the sd card. Hmmm ok i think i know how to get to the sd card. I could take it out my phone. which leaves me with one question.
how am i going to get to recovery to flash it once again. Ivbe tried to hold the volume down button and hit power. But once im at the screen that says recovery and few other things. I can never move down or up or hit power so it can function. I have no control on that screen.
You do know that this forum isn't for your device. There's probably one specifically for yours.
When you Get to that white screen called the bootloader, the volume keys should navigate through the menus and power acts as select

But once i get to my bootloader i can never select recovery. I never have been able too except a few times. Idk if i did something differently or not. But once im on the bootloader screen. The volume keys or the power button doesnt work.

For getting to recovery try installing android sdk and using adb reboot recovery
From there you can put another rom in the sd card. Wipe all and install a new one, which includes a new kernel inside. (like all of them)
I was stuck at the bootloader after trying to install a corrupt radio. I could get into recovery but it only offered yes or no for the corrupt file.
I removed SD card and pulled battery and restarted, i was then was able to get into recovery and do a wipe and it then booted fine.

** BRICKED ** I think !!!

Ok .. this is extremely weird.
- Factory Stock SGS2 Skyrocket
- Rooted - Successful
- Installed CWM (recovery.tar version) - Successful
- Downloaded Silver02wrx "[ROM] Stock 2.3.6 rooted flashable ..zip"
- Transfered to External SDCard
- Pulled battery
- Insert battery
- Vol + / Vol - pressed Power, released Power as soon as Samsung Logo appeared
- CWM on screen
- Wiped Dalvik
- Wiped Data/Reset
- Install ROM from SDCard (no errors)
- From CWM, selected Reboot
NOTHING !!!!
Phone did not reboot at all, screen went off and nothing !! Removed the battery (which was full 100% charged) .. waited about 20 seconds, reinserted .. press power .. nothing, no vibration, no display, nothing !!
Tryed doing download mode .. removed battery, reinserted, vol + / vol -, inserted USB Plug .. again NOTHING .. WTF
Any ideas on this one anyone ??
I just got the phone on Dec 1st, so I can return if need be .. but if anyone has any ideas, would be great to hear them .. just in case this happens again to either myself of anyone else on here.
Volume + - while holding power button with USB cable plugged into phone and computer does nothing at all?

Definately gone .. I figured the recovery.tar version of CWM would have been sufficiant .. guess not, but then again, don't know whether it was CWM or the ROM that caused this to happen !!! Will never know.
Well .. I did a Warranty Repair with AT&T, received my new Skyrocket .. but before shipping my defective one back .. I ordered a USB JIG just to be sure it really is DEAD.
Received the JIG today .. tested the JIG first to make sure it works by using it on a working Skyrocket, sure enough, Download Mode appeared.
Inserted a fully charge battery into my defective Skyrocket .. inserted JIG .. NOTHING.
So .. thats a real good one there .. the phone is COMPLETELY DEAD !!!
Shipped the DEAD one to AT&T.

Well .. thats a good thing .. if you can get into Download Mode .. flash back to stock using ODIN .. if you can get into CWM, install a different ROM.
I'm leaving my replacement one alone .. LOL .. gonna wait for ICS to come out for our Skyrockets .. thats if the fellas working on MIUI can get it running .. then I'll put that on. Loved MIUI when I had my Infuse.

With odin you dont save to the phone odin goes on your pc, and if you use dolphin browser hd you can download the roms with the phone. Get on xda with the phone i am right now. And dolphin saves what you download to the internal sd by default
Dammit Silver03WRX .. you beat me to the answer .. LOL

And when your in download mode then you connect to your pc, and use odin to flash the stock tar. Follow the instruction here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348

I've never used dolphin and my phone wont go past reboot for me to use anything on my phone it can only go into CWM or Download mode but I think the problem is the tar files arent working bc on the thread I copied a guy made a video and his tar file looked different then mine and another guy in that thread said his files didnt work either and got a working one from another site but didnt metion which site
The tar file does work i have used it. Follow the instructions again. Put it in download mode connect to pc opin odin make sure re-partition is not checked. In the pda section choose thebtar file and flash it. It will flash then reboot itself. This works guarnteed. There has to be something your doing wrong. Please trust me. This works for everyone. Here is the link for the tar http://k0nane.info/rom/SGH-I727-UCKJ2-k0nane.7z you need to unzip the file with 7zip the tar is inside. Then you flash it. Redownload unzip the file put the tar on you desktop. Put phne into download mode. Connect to pc. It will say connected. Choose the tar in pda section. Makesure re-partition is not checked and flash let it complete , and reboot itself

Then pull out battery. Hold volume up volume down and power once in stock recovery wipebdata/ factory reset. If u used odin to flash the tar in the 7z file you no longer have cwm yoyou have stock recovery

[Q] U8650 HELP! I think I bricked my phone... :(

Let me introduce myself. My name is Toni, I'm from Croatia.
We too have an IT forum, and they recommended me to go and ask for answers here...
Well, I have a Huawei U8650. It is rooted, and I installed a custom ROM.
Today, I installed a .zip file from the recovery, and when I went to "Reboot" (also from recovery), the phone stopped on the Huawei Logo (when trying to reboot).
I couldn't do anything, so I pulled the battery out, and in again. I pressed the Power button, but again, the boot stopped at Huawei Logo.
Then, I tried to get to the recovery menu. The combo- VOL UP + POWER is not working (when I try it, it gets me to the Logo).
However, I also tried this combo- VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER, but then the whole screen turns pink! WTF?
I don't know what to do, I'm desperate! I can't use my phone anymore!
Did I brick my phone? If not, what the f*ck did I do?
How can I solve my problem?
Thanks
Toni
Bricked phone
Try this:
Hold volume down while pressing and releasing the power button, wait till phone comes on to release volume down, let me know your results (should bring you to hboot)

i think there might be a chance that your phone has fastboot turned on since i was trying to get into recovery and couldnt because of the fastboot...i cant help you but i know this is what might be causing you not being able to get into recovery
So, I will be able to get it to work again??

ive never bricked my phone but from what im reading is if you have fastboot on pull the battery and then try again hold volume and power at same time hold for a couple seconds then just release the power button while holding down the volume
Again nothing.
Just the logo.
ok last thing i can think of......Did you wipe everything when installing the rom...factory reset, cache partition, delvik cache...if so are you getting a white screen when loading.....sometimes when installing a new rom it can take almost 10 min for it to load.....i have an evo 4g and this can happen.....it could be just trying to load so give it at the most 10min to load everything....then let me know what id does
No, i didn't wipe a thing. I did not install a ROM. I installed an app, root manager. The install instructions didn't say anything about wiping data.
I left it at the logo for 30 minutes, because I went out. When I came back, the screen was showing the logo.
EDIT: but yes, when I installed my custom ROM, i wiped everything.

stuck rebooting!

I'm kind of a noob with this but my Verizon GS3 is doing a boot loop and I have no idea how to fix it! Please help!
First off, are you able to throw ADB commands to the phone? (a lot of the time when I get stuck in a boot loop I can still throw ADB commands at it), if so, throw adb reboot recovery to reboot into the recovery.
If you can't, remove the battery to turn it off, pop the battery back in, then hold Volume Up, Home, and Power to boot into the recovery.
Once in the recovery do a full wipe.
If you are flashing a ROM it's always suggested to do a full wipe before flashing the ROM.
If wiping doesn't work then restore for a previous backup (I hope you did a backup before you did whatever you did since you weren't being detailed in what you were doing at the time).

Thanks for responding! All I was doing was backing it up through ROM Manager and after the backup it went into the boot loop. When I hold the power, home, and volume down button it goes into download mode so I can't even get into the recovery. Have you heard of this before?
Try doing Volume Down, Home, and Power instead (one does download and one recovery, I can't remember which since I do everything through adb and very rarely have to do it manually).

Well the good news is I can get into recovery. The bad news is every time I try and restore it goes back into the same boot loop for a few cycles then goes back into Clockworkmod recovery. I feel like I'm getting close here...

When I do reboot system now it says "error processing ROM Manager script. Please verify that you are performing the backup, restore, or ROM installation from ROM Manager v4.4.0.0 or higher."
Why not just flash a new rom to get rid of the boot loop? Or Odin back to stock n root all over again?

can you be more percifics ?
try re-install the rom
I just faced the same problem on my SGS2. Hold Volume Up + Home button + Power button to recovery mode (I guess SGS3 is the same as SGS2), then re-install the rom. If it is still not working, you may have to try another rom. To incase this problem happening, I always put two old rom and a new rom in my internal sd card, it's a lot safer, but they will use about 1GB in your phone.
Download a new ROM then flash it. Should fix your problem

I have the same problem only I can't go anywhere from the boot screen (android logo). No combination of buttons or battery removal chnges it. My PC won't see the usb connection. I could pull the sd card and write to it if that would do anything.

Why not just flash a new rom to get rid of the boot loop? Or Odin back to stock n root all over again?

The damned phone is bricked how are you going to flash another rom or wipe data? I don't think its totally bricked but it will only show the dwonload screen, buttons and usb ports do not work at all so far.
New data: after leaving the battery out for ahwil I was able to get back to the odin entry screen. I pushed the volume up and went back to where I was... this is progress. Now sure where to go from here.
Fumbling worked! Hitting the down volume worked. I am back in the previous rom. I still would like to flask 4.2.2! Please advise and comment. Thanks!

Try doing Volume Down, Home, and Power instead (one does download and one recovery, I can't remember which since I do everything through adb and very rarely have to do it manually).

On the galaxy s3 it's down volume, power and home, then down volume to get out of the odin emulator screen. BTW captcha for a site like this reminds of the sysops of 5 line bbs' out of their mother's basements that had elaborate member approval vetting. Self importance to the disease level.
