hi, i just got my transformer and flashed revolver 3.2 and am running clemsyn's kernel 20a. Before the flash the camera was working fine but now when i try to open the camera app the device locks up and i have to reset it. does anyone have any suggestions?
What do you mean by "reset"?
Try to clear data for camera. If not have you try just the ROM without the kernel first?
vol down + power, yeah i didnt really test the rom without the kernel ill try clearing data for the camera first and go from there
thnaks!

Hello,
I am having trouble with the camera on InsertCoin 3.4.6.
I'm using the latest version of the Bricked Kernel and I even used the camfix.
When I take a picture, the entire device locks up.
Can Anyone help me?

have you tried clearing your cache and dalvik? try those or try a camera on the market and see if it happens again. i have camera Zoom fx from the market just in case the rom that i am using at the time isnt working.

I haven't tried yet, but I will! I'll also download Camera Zoom FX.
Ok i have a tmobile sensation 4g.. last month, my back camera kept crashing after flashing a jb rom...so i restored to viperS rom and camera still won't work. I get a " cant connect to the camera" error. i even flashed back to stock and camera still won't work. even using an app called "Z-DeviceTest" shows a big red x, meaning it not working. But in the app the front camera is working and can even see myself. so i did a reset and then wiped dalvik and cache multiple times. Just now, the new camera i ordered, came in and i installed it; with the same error. Has anyone experience this problem? Do you have any ideas what could be going on. any help would be appreciated..
Currently using CyanogenMod 10.1 Jellybean 4.2.2 - KANG with ChronicBruce kernel

Either it's hardware other than the camera or you need to run an RUU.

well i tried a ruu and still got the cant to camera error...only thing im thinking, is that it could be the Camera Socket, Headphone Jack, Power Button board/flex cable...
This morning, when I tried to use my camera, it force closed immediately when I tried to open it. The last time I took a picture was 3 days ago, and that worked fine. I haven't installed any new mods since then. I've been using Jishnu's v1.4 camera mod since it was released. Here's a list of everything I've tried:
Cleared data/cache in both camera and gallery
Booted into recovery to wipe cache and dalvik
Booted into safe mode - still force closed
Flashed back to stock 4.4.2 camera found in Jishnu's thread
However, other camera apps work. For example, both Jishnu's LG G2 and MotoX camera ports work fine. Other apps that use the camera, such as DailyRoads also work. I just don't know why the default camera app isn't working.
Additional info:
Stock ROM, 4.4.2 rooted
TWRP 2.7.0.0
Xposed Framework running Gravity Box
Faux Kernel (Camera was working fine previously on v012 until today. I flashed to v014 in a desperate attempt to see if it would fix the problem.)
Mod - Increased volume
Mod - MotoX optimized dalvik
Mod - Jishnu's V1.4 camera, now reverted back to stock
Mod - KitKat UI
I would like to avoid factory resetting currently, but I will do it over the weekend if I have to.
Thanks in advance for your input!

Re-installed v1.4 of Jishnu's Camera and all is working fine.

I just found out I had the same problem you are having. I flashed back the stock camera from Jishnu and it works again. I am going to re-install his camera fix and see what happens *fingers crossed*
Update - Flashed Jishnu's fix back again and it still works... not sure what's going on with yours :[

Just attempted the first 3 steps. Did not work for me. Oh well, I'll tinker with my phone over the weekend.
Thanks for your help though!
Solved!
I figured it out because I wanted to update my camera to the new version. I ran into problems, and fixed both at the same time.
Anyway, here's what I did.
Delete GoogleCamera.apk in /system/app
Flash stock 4.4.2 camera found in Jishnu's thread
Camera should now work!
Camera keeps crashing/cant connect or similuar error. I am running stock 5.0.1 with franco r70. The only way I fix it is by wiping dalvik/cache. It is really annoying and I do not know how to fix it... It is not just the app all camera apps crash.
Try with stock kernel maybe something is interfering

Stock kernel is stock kernel. Flash the factory images if you want to start from scratch. If the problem persists, it could be a hardware issue.
The problem is I download custom kernel on my stock ROM and I'm not really sure if it's from the kernel or nah because I switched between few already and didn't solve my peoblem I delete the cache from the camera app as we but nothing working gcam stock camera camera in messenger open camera . Can anyone help to find the stock kernel and let me at least try before totally reinstall the phone
