[Q] Battery full Notification - Samsung Infuse 4G

How would I go about taking out battery full notification on status bar. When the battery is full and I unplug the icon stays. Only a reboot solves the issue(temporary fix). I took out the full charge .png out of the drawable-hdpi folder, but then I get a force close. If anyone knows how to remove it Please help.

Found info on it but I'm having no success. Can someone decompile Systemui.apk and remove some lines from the Android Manifest xml OF systemui.apk to disable the battery full notification.

Try doing it yourself using apktool?
We have no idea which ROM you've Hellraised (and since the problem you mention is specific to Hellraiser, it's clear you've Hellraised something) we have no idea what ROM you want to mod.
Just to be clear - my chances of success with this are only slightly higher than your own. I've had baaaad experiences in the past with trying to modify apks...

I'm on Dlev Rom 5.0 JVR. I've been trying. Every attempt I loose status bar, but still trying to figure it all out. I have some knowledge of SDK. I have no knowledge about aapt, PATH, smali. Trying to learn

I'm getting the same thing but I haven't tried to mess with the apk yet. Mine disappears when I fully charged and will have to reboot to get it back. I'm on I9000 S.U.R.F.A.C.E.. All I did was remove the PNG also and that's pretty much when it started.

I've tried everything my puny brain could think of to get rid of it . I was going to post a port (sort of) of Dlev Romv5.0. Everything is ready to go , but that damn battery full notification is stopping me from posting. I like this rom , so I made it CWM flashable with everything in it. I wanted to make it easier for anyone who would like to try it.

i've been beating my head over this all morning. i had a lot of trouble getting apk manager to act like it is supposed to. it seems like once i get an error it doesnt work again till i reboot so i have to do everything perfect. i've finally gotten around to this and im getting the same thing but i found another tutorial that isn't any more successful i think it is something to do with recompiling it.
when (if) i am successful i'll do a step by step tutorial.

I'm suffering from exactly the same issue.. icon stays even if unplugged and removal of the 5 lines mentioned doesn't work. Hopefully someone can come up with a fix for it.. Thanks.

By the way I'm on stock JVS + hellraiser beta 9.

hey guys i may have found the source of the bug but im not sure because my battery meter is all out of calibration right now so im getting some weirdness and cant be positive.
you wont belive it when i say what it is. im not sure i believe it so im still testing and will report on it tonight if im right or wrong.

Awesome... As far as fixing the battery meter, just pull the battery.
Can you PM me your ideas by any chance? I'll poke at them a bit.

sorry guys, i was wrong. the messed up calibration on the battery meter made it look like the issue was gone. i had the idea that the systemUI.apk is a little convoluted and there are references to things that seem a little out of place i figured that it could very well be due to something else that depends on the battery level. i changed the camera.apk back to the i9000 version and it apeared to work. then i realized that when i pulled my phone off charge it was reporting 97% from 100% with the charger connected and it took an unusually short time to go up from 91% the thing is to test it you need to drain the battery below about 95% before it will start the notification again. this takes me a long time! battery life is too good. i can play some flash vids and drain it down pretty quick but not at work infact i cant even carry the phone at work except from my car to my locker and back.
now that i went back to look at the code there is no reference to the camera and the idea was probably silly but hey ive seen weirder stuff happen with samsung. changing the email client on a 2.2.1 i9000 rom made the camera previews blurry. it made no sense but poor image quality was a known problem when people were using the galaxy tab email client and many devs switched back to the stock one claiming that it fixed the problem. it is odd ball stuff like this that made me say why not and try it.
i still intend to look as deeply into this as i can. squashing the notification left me with a bug that doesn't allow my sd card to mount to my pc after the battery hits 100% ugh. i just want it to work. well next step is to decompile the proper systemui.apk for the infuse and check it for differences but that might only lead me to a customized solution for my rom not a universal solution that could go into hell raiser.

OK this issue is fixed. I decompiled SystemUI and modified the code directly to make full battery notification removable (clearable). It's in fact a pretty general mod. I will post tomorrow and add into my GSInfuse ROM.

a screenshot.

Is this something,LB can implament into Hellraiser?
Edit: Nevermind
I'm not a developer but I try to play one on XDA.

LIVE WALLS Finally Sticking (EVEN plain NEXUS)

READ THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY IF YOU EXPECT THIS TO WORK!!!!!
HEy everyone ive been messing with this for a while now and after last nite i got my hopes up about lwp working and i tried every rom with EVERY fix and none would stay for good(AHHH!) and i got a patch made by JCASE and ZIFNAB. Our open gl is apparently broken. This is a patch and a lib we are missing. Nexus lwp works, NOT nexus mod NEXUS, and YES they stick. PLEASE: IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO INSTALL LIVEWALLPAPER PICKER,DO NOT POST(looking for fixes i read about 4001 stupid posts about not being able to choose lwp from menu). If you cant get that step than i cant help you. Well I think this has been the issue. I have not tested this for days it i just got it last nite and tested since, along with all the cool new roms. Well i have not tested with the sense setup,i was too excited to run it. ill report back later, just wanted to let ppl that want them working as much as myself to know about this....Tested by myself, FURY and OBELISK... IDC if you beleive me or not, i wouldnt beleive me w/o trying it either. And of course if your phone explodes that wasnt me...also Fury and Obelisk tested with neo and fps drops for some reason, prolly cus its not for our device While it could it could use some work, so im really happy with it....ill get it working with sense and post back. Maybe polish the patch a little if we can.....anyone?????
(TO MAKE SURE IT WORKED JUST TRY NEXUS LWP)
LINK:
Flash this thru recovery

Put this in sys/lib
http://www.4shared.com/file/kkEsJujf/libgsl.html
put that second one in system/lib or sys/lib?
lol actually so its adb push libgsl.so /system/lib
right?
FYI All: This is full opengl es, not the lite version. however it does run slow, it works as advertised.
trying now thanks
edit : works great thanks for the fix
Finally a claim that seems to be valid after a bit of testing. Not extensive testing by any means but NexusMod LWP has "stuck" longer than any of the "LWP enabled" roms have for me. Although like obelisk mentioned they can be somewhat choppy at times. Nexus Launcher looks like it might finally be usable as well which is a bigger victory imo .
Does this mean that launcher2 will work with the desired effects of icons curving and disappearing into the distance at the top and bottom of the screen? Someone test please.

thi worked amazingly!!!!! nexus and every single one works!!!!! none fail and launcher2 works beautifully!!!
thanks to everyone that had a hand in this it works like a charm, just what ive been waiting for.
Enjoy guys. If you like the LWP, come give us a shout on ircD.thefuzz4.net #dev . I had a feeling that after the patch worked on the eris, that porting to the hero would be nothing
If Darch still has a copy of his original AOSP 2.1 (the one that needed a new boot image flashed to make the 3d gallery work better) this was done in the boot.img without any file patching. I no longer have a copy of it, and can't remember the exact steps I took to get them working.
Hopefully he still has an archive so the trick can be tried with the .29 kernel.

just pushing libgsl.so is working great after reverting /system/lib/egl back to stock. the only one not working this way is galaxy. but Gallery3D works like it should now.

Looking for battery percentage mod

I have looked all over and found this mod for the nexus but thats it. Anyone know of this mod for the hero that they could link me to. I want the battery indicator with percentage, not an app, but to replace the stock battery indicator.

It was originally posted in the development forum where it didn't belong. It has correctly been moved to the theme forum now.
I would love to have this mod work with Sense. I have seen the mod the OP is referring to on the N1, and it is pretty brilliant.
I've already talked to Darch about the possibility of getting this on a ROM such as DamageControl. His response was that is wasn't possible without having the code for the .29 kernel. I'm guessing since his is AOSP, he can put it in his ROM more easily. Just a guess though, I know little about programming, code, etc.

How do we know your who you say you are!
I use BatteryLife widget by Curve Fish and love it, it keeps the percentage accurate all the time. I think in the 2.2 build under the cyogenmod settings there is an option to add the battery percentage to the icon on top, but thats probably not helpful if you dont want to stray from sense.
I wanted this as well and noticed darch had the battery percentage indicator within his spareparts settings so I tried to pull his spareparts.apk and push it over to fresh 2.3.3 Rom but that didn't work cuz nothing showed up in my app drawer or within the settings menu. I really want this mod as well but for now I'm using the battery widget by geekyouup which only takes up 1x1 on your screen and it can toggle/open your WiFi/how/bluetooth/display

You can't push the whole desire framework-res.apk to your phone, you'll get a bunch of force closes. png's are the wrong sizes and what not. might be missing some .png's or have different names. Plus that update.zip will change one of you .jar files and that would mess up your phone. You could dive in and replace just the battery .png's.
I could do that for you... give me time tomorrow and I'll take a looksie.

So I take it from your OP that you're using the stock 2.1 Sprint ROM, right? Just making sure because I don't know why you have a 5 after the "..." part.
Just to throw this out there, it may take awhile to do this for you. For some god-knows-what reason, my download speed is absolute **** today. I have an estimated time left of EIGHT HOURS on the Sprint ROM that I need to DL.

What I am doing will work with Fresh, DamageControl, the Sprint roms, etc. I'm almost positive that the framework-res.apk is the same between them. I'm not sure about the services.jar modding that I'll need to do, but I can't see it being a large difference between the ROMs.
Here is just the battery icon, no percent
Ok, well I just finished putting that battery icon in. This should work in any Sprint-based ROM, which means DamageControl, Fresh, RegawMOD, w/e... as long as it's not AOSP.
So attached is the modified framework-res.apk. To install this, you'll need to push it into your phone somehow. This can be done a couple of ways:
ADB:
Code:
adb remount
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework
adb reboot
OR
Use Root Explorer, and then mount your phone in R/W mode, and then just copy and paste that file into your /system/framework folder.
Ok, this MAY give you the percent
Hey guys. So I really quickly learned how to use baksmali and smali to edit the services.jar file. I took what looked to be a line of code that added the battery percent and added that into our services.jar. I then repackaged it up. I have NOT tested this to see if it works or not (I'm running AOSP and calibrating my battery), so I highly recommend you either Nandroid or backup your services.jar file. If you would like the circular battery icon too, then flash the framework-res.apk file above as well.
The worst thing that will happen from the services.jar being messed up is force-closes.
EDIT Don't pay attention to what's above. I put all the stuff into a flashable .zip file. My signing tool is messed up, but if you have ClockWordMOD recovery, then you'll be able to flash it (ClockWordMOD can flash unsigned .zips )

As we speak the devs should be getting the screen resolution right which will probley make it work for everyday normal usage once thats all worked out
the 60-70 percent being non-functional is a load of BS.....besides the resolution, the main thing that ISNT working is the camera/gallery. Nearly everything works. The dev's are very hard at work in the DHD section trying to fix the resolution, and once that is done, it will be a mostly stable rom.
I had it on my Inspire yesterday for a few hours, it was very fast and smooth for the most part. The LockScreen will be one of the most notable improvements to the Sense UI - IMO
I'm about to buy an Inpsire, and this makes my purchase seem so worth it lol. Can't wait until all the bugs are worked out!
Just flashed this. It booted but I couldn't get past the lock screen. Says something about dragging a ring but a can't see a ring or manage to unlock it in any way.
This is getting some love on engadget.
Nice job guys

I have been running it for almost 16 hours now, and have been following all of the development threads on the DHD forums. I would say no, they don't know what they are talking about. Besides the HTC widgets and anything dealing with Rosie.apk, most everything else has the correct resolution.
And what i don't understand is why SOOO many people are flashing this rom without even reading a single page of the thread. It is an alpha. It has been asked thousands of times how to get past the lockscreen. On the first boot, you will have to call yourself to get it unlocked. Then you need to go to personalize-lock screen and choose a different lockscreen that has icons on the bottom. To open the lockscreen from there on, drag an icon to the bottom of the screen.
What i don't understand is why no dev's from the Inspire section are teaming up with capy on the DHD forums to help out and get it ported. They are really having a hard time finding the code to get it to scale correctly. We have a lot of talented people over here, and all the development is public on that thread...i wish i was smarter so i could help out

[Req.]Dedicated Mp3 &Gaming Device

I have an old shift...and my son loves to play games and music on it, like me he loves tech. stuff....My question....is there anyway someone could construct something with all the phone, contacts, etc. out of it?...and just have access to music and google play for gaming....I tried, but got foreclosures everywhere. ..Thanx, if someone may find time as im sure others would be interested in this as well....
I can give it a shot. What ROM are you interested in moding?
Man...just something simple possibly a aosp type rom so the sense stuff doesnt give you a headache....whatever is the easiest...lol

Well I spent a lot of time trying to put something together yesterday using Provision and so far I haven't been able to put anything together I like. As a short cut you can get Titanium Backup Pro and freeze the contacts and messaging apps. (Only those two!) That'll hide the dialer, messaging and contacts apps. There is a ROM like what we are talking about here for the EVO 4g. I'll read through what the dev of that ROM did to make it work. Maybe it can be ported.

Yeah I seen that also through alot of searching, but that is beyond my knowledge as far as porting...Man provision would look awesome though....Thanks for trying though...Love you work by the way....
I threw together a quick port of the EVO ROM I mentioned earlier this morning before work & it booted! Its a bit buggy but it looks promising. Ive asked for permissions & hopefully can get something available soon.

Hey guys. Would anyone be willing to look through an updater script problem for me. I ran my new ROM through dsixda's kitchen and now I'm getting status 6 error. I'm sure its something small but I'm to tired to do any more tonight. If not its ok. I'll just look more closely later.
Edit: Here's a link http://d-h.st/Bwf
Here is a test version on what I have so far. I would have an official release today but I stayed up too late last night and now I'm going to be late for work. http://d-h.st/omo Its still a bit buggy....
