So I have a G2, and after a crazy concert. My screen broke. Its not the digitizer because you can still see the screen. Its just the glass. Does anybody know how much it cost get a replacement screen, or a legit website I can buy it from. I'm more than capable of replacing it, I just need a website I can trust. Has anybody replaced the screen on there G2/Vision/DZ with sucess? Is it worth replacing? The phone works perfectly. Any help is good help

Unfortunately for you your digitizer is broken. The screen is the LCD panel.
The digitizer is the glass, so you need to replace it.
Follow this tutorial, pretty easy to do:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-dR8CHEGjY
Good luck!
Kind of easy, but takes time. Not like the iphone, it tooks me 20 minutes to change.
DZ its more like 1h.
In the same time, order the HTC logo digitizer, on ebay its about 30$

I replaced my wife's digitizer the other week. It took about 45-60 minutes. I had the choice of buying one from China for $20 or one from the USA for $28 ... I didn't want my wife to suffer with the broken glass for too long so I opted for the $28. It arrived in 3 days.
Looks like the seller lowered the price to $25.75 with free shipping ... here
Use this teardown to assist you with the digitizer swap. I couldn't have done the job without it!

Broke my screen and looked on ebay for a replacement. What I can't figure out is why there is such a big price difference on all these screens. There are some for 20 all the way up to 100. Can someone chime in on this?

Depends if new or used, the source of the screen, counterfeit or real and also simply what the sellers think they can get.

ones that are legit are going for at least mid 50s I believe on ebay.
The reason there is such a price difference is because you are looking at two different products. I broke my screen last week, but it was only the top layer of glass(called the digitizer) that broke, which only costs $15-20. If you managed to break the glass and the LCD, however(if your screen won't turn on, or is massively discolored), then you need a full LCD replacement, which is much more expensive, costing closer to $150. Hope that helps

yeah i figured that out reading the description. how was it changing the digitizer? thats all i need replaced. only reason why i would consider buying the whole setup was so all i needed to do was plug and play.

There's a seller on eBay that has the model phones for cheap. I paid around $15 shipped for one when i replaced the digitizer on my inc1. Complete shell, battery cover and all, except the lcd and guts

Got mine from ebay for about 55bucks. Complete set. Plug and play. Even came with tools to get the job done and a step by step video. Can't go wrong. Much easier and safer to just replace both LCD and digitizer.

just bought the digitizer for 15 bucks shipped with all the tools. lets see how complicated it is to change this thing when i get it lol

Let us know how everything works out. I have a friend with a cracked digitizer and I was going to attempt to replace it for him. Also did you purchase the part from Ebay? Thanks!

I have replaced a screen in a Thunderbolt and Incredible 2. It isn't really very difficult just do a search on YouTube for a video with instructions, have a bright light and in my case a magnifying glass! (Old eyes)

Where's a good place to purchase one at?

I dropped my HTC Thunderbolt a month ago after I upgraded to a S3  and wanted to get around to fix it up so I can sell it off. Googled a bit but having some issues deciding wether to get a LCD Display Screen Replacement or the Touch Screen Digitizer. The phone's touchscreen still works fine and phone functions perfectly normally just the screen has a crack in it that I can physically feel. I was going to buy a the screen replacement but wan't to make sure I buy the right product to fix this and If anyone can link the item I need if not this one I would greatly appreciate it
If the screen still works, you need the digitizer. If you're not too savvy with electronics, I would suggest getting the lcd+digitizer combo.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
Just about every digitizer in Amazon has about a 2.5 star review. Paying $65 for the combo set is kind of not worth it seeing the phone fixed would sell for $100~ making it only a $40 gain.
Anyone have any luck with AT&T if their Atrix 2 screen mysteriously breaks?

Or maybe someone might know the cost of repairing the screen?

Yeah, AT&T will not replace a phone with a cracked or shattered screen. On the other hand if you pay for 7 bux a month insurance, you can get a replacement (most likely will not be an A2 though, and whatever they have in stock for replacements).
Your best bet is to do what others have done and buy a broken phone on ebay that is bricked and will not power on and use it's screen and digitizer and follow these directions to replace the screen and digitizer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746094
On ebay I have seen broken A2's for anywhere from 50-150 USD, depending on the damage and if the screen is intact or not. You really want one that has a good screen but will not power on, and that will probably be just under or close to 100.00 USD. There is also a link for buying a screen and digitizer in the link I gave, but you will have to glue or affix those to together, and these tend to not look quite as good as just doing what I mention and get a non booting phone off ebay or craigslist.
I reupped my wife's line and got a Sony TL. Damn you AT&T every time I get a foot out you pull me back in.

You can also buy a replacement screen here . I replaced my screen in March of this year and it worked flawlessly.
Hello, Nexus 5 is my first smarthphone, so I don't have much experience with this issue. I've just dropped it down from like 70-80 centimeters and the screen shattered. The good news are that the touch works perfectly and the display itself looks fine. My question is do I only need one of those ~10$ screen replacements from eBay and if yes do they look and feel like the real thing. I really don't want my phone to feel crappy and unauthentic after replacing.
Oh, and should I find a specialist to do it for me or the process is relatively easy and I should be fine?
P.S.: here is one of the said ~10$ replacements - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Scree...l_Phone_Screen_Protectors&hash=item51be030cb7

There are many threads on this topic. Basically no, you need the LCD+digitizer+frame if you plan on replacing it yourself which costs almost as much as the $150 fee LG will charge you for repairing it.

OK, but if I go to a smartphone repair service and give it to a pro? 10$ for the replacement and maybe 20-30$ for the work still sounds better than 150$. Thanks for the reply.

I think what bblzd is saying is that you don't just need that $10 replacement, but rather the screen and digitizer as well. Even if you took it to a pro, they are going to charge you the same if not more than LG.
The glass is bonded to the digitizer with adhesive. To replace just the glass you'd have to separate the two pieces. Good chance of breaking the digitizer while attempting this. And even if you do pull it off without breaking it, you'd have to use loca uv adhesive to attach the glass to the old digitizer. Not an easy feat. YouTube a video on loca adhesive and you'll see. And even after that it will not be perfect. Imo don't even attempt it. Your best bet is to send it to LG for repair and pay the 150. Your other option is to buy the whole assembly for 100 and install it yourself. If it where mine, id pay the 150 and have LG fix it.

Ok, now I understand. Sigh... These assembly parts for 100 are original, and not some chinese replica, right? I've searched around and it looked like it's pretty easy DYI with a whole assembly. I doubt there is official LG service in my area. Thanks for the reply.

The oem replacements are 140 dollars. The generic aftermarket ones are 100. I've read that the generic one sold by a company called ulike is good. You can find them on Amazon.
You should really talk to LG support, I shattered my screen and sent an email off. I don't know how lucky I was but they replaced my screen for free, all I had to do was pay for the shipping to repair location that LG sent me. It doesn't hurt to ask LG, and then decide to go a different route depending on what they said.

They repaired your screen for free... That's odd. First time I heard that. I'd say pretty damn lucky for sure.
Managed to crack my Nexus 5 (red) LCD.
Any reliable supplier for a new one?
I've disassembled the broken one from the frame and just need the lcd+touch+bezel "glued" set.
(Well initially I just had broke the outter glass and the digitizer/LCD were working fine, until I tried to remove the broken Glass and managed to crack the LCD at 75% of the work done )
Contact lg

there are lots on ebay for 40 to 50$... get one of those. follow youtube videos and enjoy...

LG won't sell spare parts
@shri_chanakya
Issue on ebay is most claim to be original LCD+digitizer set, but aren't, ending up being of lower quality...
So I was looking for a reliable source.

Actually I took a good look at their product and it seems OEM and not Original.
Ended up ordering from here:
When it comes to parts I always get them off Amazon. I go by reviews and price comparison. If it's cheap it's fake, IMO. I've had a back and battery, both genuine and very happy with them, bought this way, but no screen, thank God. They have them
