[Q] Know of a good battery? - HTC Sensation

My HTC Sensation has the battery it came with in the box from T-Mobile, and, well, the battery sucks a lot...
I have heard there are higher capacity batteries for the Sensation, but Im looking for a recommended one from you guys.
Please please please let me do the capacity on the one you recommend, and please provide a link! Thanks!
(Im looking for more power in one battery, not just another battery with same power)

I found this one, 1800 mAh for $4, do you think it would be good?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1800-mAh-Ba...ccessories&hash=item2a12f9c54b#ht_2356wt_1102

Seems perfect and ideal. It's the messiah battery.
In bizarro world, of course.

There are a number of battery threads. If you searched a little, you'll see anker, chichitec, and mugen come up. All are decent aftermarket batteries.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G

Have a read of the Anker battery thread. Getting good results with mine now.
Cheers

ordered the seidio 1900 for $49 form amazon. waiting for it to come in. my stock battery lasts me about 15 hours before i have to charge it, so the new one will definitely do the trick for me. i usually work or am out of the house for up to 20 hours at a time.

Don't be surprised if that Seidio clocks in at less than your stock batt.
Highly overrated and overpriced.

Well overpriced at $49. Makes my two Anker batteries look a bargain.

[Q] Will the sensation get an extended battery released?

Does anyone know if HTC will release an extended battery with replacement back cover for the sensation? Or perhaps something produced by another company like Mugen or Seindo? I have the US HD2, which works fantastic in the UK on Vodafone by the way, and I have the extended battery for it and in my opinion makes all the difference. I've had a good look online, htc, ebay, etc but no success.
Most probably
If you have a look around at almost any of the older models they have extended batteries available. The Sensation has only just been released in UK and is being rolled out worldwide. Wait until china gets their hands on it (June 8th) I believe and then wait for the HTC "alternatives" to be released
The antenna is in the back case so i doubt it.
Yeah I was thinking the same when I read about the antenna being in the back casing.
We never saw a extended battery on the DHD due to how the back was. The HD2 had a nice one which had a kick stand built in.
I would like to see one for the Sensation but that might well be difficult to manufacture and probably would be expensive too because they are putting components like the antenna in the casing.

Who is this response from?
Jan from Mugen. I can't add the links that were signed at the end of the email because I don't have up to 8 posts..or sth like that is what the error message said...*shrugs*
I sent them an email on Friday, I believe and they replied yesterday.
Just get a Anker or CHICHITEC 1900 MAH battery, my CHICHITEC lasts more than a day.
Further Update:-( I asked about the possible capacity and if there might be a protective case that will work with the phone after extended battery is inserted).
Dear [....],
Thank you for your email!
The larger size should be over 3000mAh, I don't think we will work on the protective case for this model, I need to ask our marketing team!
Because our holster sales not really good, so we only have 3 models for the holster at the moment!
Please contact me if you need any additional info.
Best Regards,
Jan

I would have waited, I got a 2300mah generic for around $30 on eBay pretty dece, but really excited for the bigger battery, I know 105 is steep, but previous experience with mugen leads me to believe that it would still be well worth it, but that's my opinion

Yikes, what a MONSTER! That would be so nice to just abuse the bejeezus out of your phone all day without being able to kill it lol. I mean, with a battery of that size you could be a 4g hotspot for someone and game on the device itself all day I bet.

Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Mine arrived from China today, so took about 14 days to arrive - it was sent recorded delivery ( had to be signed for ). The thinckness of the battery is the same as the original battery in my HTC Sensation. That battery came with 95% capacity pre charged. Just topping it up at moment and will then test its use in comparison to the Original.
I bought mine as a spare battery as I go hillwalking and even though I have a powermonkey backup a spare will come in handy as my mapping software drains the HTC when the GPS is running.
Is that possible? A battery of 2800mah having almost the same thickness as a stock battery.

Oh for sure. Just by wondering, you have created a vortex that combines the Big Mac with the Whopper and a Zinger which Captain Planet fuses into this battery.

Definitely not, atleast right now anyhow. We haven't found much a way to increase mAh without increasing physical size in a while, lithium cells have hardly improved in that area since their conception. This battery is probably anywhere from 800mAh to 1500mAh.

You got it wrong, high capacity and same form factor is physically possible, just ask Wayne Szalinski!
I got one.
Checked it 2 days back!
Same thickness.
less capacity than the original.
But may be in the range of 1300mAh. cant say exactly. Have to use it and see. will post the results soon!!

One review says
"Good battery, but the real capacity is 1500mAh. Test it RC-Power 601BS"
can any one tell me how to check correctly?
I bought one of these, without doing any fancy analysis its as good as an Anker.
I would not go for this Chinese things at all... It's a hoax definitely.
I bought a Seidio 1900mAh for Sensation two months ago, and it really ROCKS! I really get a big big difference compared to the stock one. I think Seidio are the best alternative batteries that do not bulk your phone. I also tried PowerSkin, and It also rocked indeed... it's fancy in the winter time when you have big pockets, unfortunately, it died after a week because it was defective
I used it last few days. It is almost as good as stock battery.
I can live with it. No prob. And when compared to the price, no question about the value.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
I have this battery. Without charge sustain 2 days. Of course, no music, navigation and animated background. I think that is slightly better than the original.
People, it's not going to get any more than about 1900ish without physically increasing the size of the battery. I am here to crush your dreams, it's not gonna happen.

3800 mAh Extended Batteries

Anyone had tried or bought the 3800 mAh batteries on Ebay or Amazon that care to provide a review ?
The only reviews of them I can find is on Amazon and it doesn't sound too good with the battery overheating

You will need another back cover for the battery as it looks thicker compare to our.

Out of curiosity, we wouldn't be able to charge these extended batteries without a standalone charger right? I was told this was because our stock batteries have NFC built in with them and these extended ones don't... So when u connect ur phone to your standard usb charger, it just boot loops... Can anyone confirm this?

the powerskin is an addon to the 1850 battery in the skyrocket already so it gives you a total of 3350MAH, plus you get a higher quality battery so in the end its worth it.

Other members on XDA rated the Power Skin to be a bad choice for an addon battery. There are many post and threads regarding the charging of the battery becoming defective, the Power Skin causes the original battery to fail over time, etc. Multiple post regarding why the Power Skin is an awful product, but to me is the ONLY one that looks decent rather than an extended door panel.. If only they can make these extended batteries slim like the oem but pack a good ol' 3800 mah in it.

I can understand if it's built shoddily that it can end up frying its own battery, but how would a powerskin ruin the internal battery? Any links you have handy? Lots of threads with powerskin in them...

Extended Battery Question

So I was on amazon looking for extended batteries. I've heard that the anker and hyperion batteries are reliable, and that some batteries can be worse than others. I wanted to get two extended batteries (3500mAh ones) and this seemed good:
http://www.amazon.com/Aftermarket-P..._1_6?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1337731035&sr=1-6
does anyone know if this is any good? The fact that it comes with a belt clip is sort of appealing
Would've been nice if it came with an external charger, but I can probably do with the one I already have.
Anyways, anyone have any tips or suggestions concerning good/decent extended batteries for the epic 4g?

On CM7 i could get a day's worth of battery with about 1-2 Hours of actual screen on time. Or6 Hours of screen on time and 7 hours on the battery just straight streaming netflix. I have gotten 2 Days before on Cm7 with 1.5 Hours of screen on time for display.
On ICS i can get about 15-18 Hours depending on usage

so none of them are actually 3500 mAh right? and it looks like they can actually be worse than the stock batteries?? I guess it wouldn't be too bad since I don't really mind changing batteries (i'll be getting 2 "3500" mAh batteries)

It would be in your best interest to get the hyperion. I've had great results with both of the ones i have. I barely even complained about a broke backing and they sent me a brand new complete unit free of charge. Cant go wrong with Hyperion.

They aren't 3500mAh no, but while they don't reach their claimed capacity, they offer a hefty value as far as capacity/dollar is concerned. True OEM 1500 batteries can be closer the same price ($7.89 here, still more expensive though) and true OEM 1800mAh batteries are more then double the 1500's in cost (best price I found here was $17.66).
If the swivel case isn't a huge loss for you, maybe get just one battery and see for yourself for much cheaper, $6.53 here

Here's a few screenie's from my phone using the Hyperion 3500 mah i have 2 of them and they're about the same.

Sounds about on par with how I'd expect the Hyperion to perform, and it's hard to say since it was my oldest Generic but it *seems* as though the larger print "3500" batteries don't perform as well as the small print labeled ones (which if you ever looked at the Hyperion, it has the small print label )
(Thanks for the thread rep'n btw )

my bro insisted on Anker batteries (he has an Anker battery for his SG2, working really well), and they have much better reviews than the other batteries. Hyperions sound good too... I'll look into it.
thanks for the input! XD

I've heard good things about Ankers as well but sadly have not got a chance to test any so word of mouth is the best review we have for them
As for the Hyperion, I know it's only one test but they seem to be just as hit or miss with more to lo$e

I'd love to have yours on my test bench to clear their name, because the only one I've tested didn't out shine 2/3 generics I have.

I ordered the $6.53 ones (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004MB66B0/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new) just for the heck of it, along with 2 1800 mAh Anker+charger for $20. Will see how this turns out

Well one or both of you needs to send them to me to clear their name so I can recommend them
I did see that but I wonder if it will fit differently since it's for epic touch....I'm mighty tempted though haha

just wondering, how exactly do you conduct these tests? and the epic touch's battery is a few millimeters longer than the epic 4g's ='( and it's 4 pronged or w/e while the epic 4g is 3. if aligned correctly, the battery is able to power the epic 4g though

I'm not worried about length or width as the OEM Epic Touch battery (aka the 1800mAh) fits easily into our phones, though I always heard that the Epic 4G's batteries were slightly longer so I was more worried about the Hyperion Epic Touch version being a slight bit too deep (to fit the same capacity) to work...though I think there is a little extra space in the current Generic battery cover that may allow for what little more depth there *may* be (as you can shake the phone and hear the battery jostle around slightly)

Yeah it's weird that sometimes they do that, change some of the phone so that they aren't compatible. Probably the most absent minded business strategy I've ever heard
Just to let you guys know there is actually a set of the 1800 mAh's for our phone and the Epic Touch i got the one for our phone and the 1st charge i got 15-16 HRs and about 3 Hrs of screen on time
I personally use the Yoobao 2800 mAh extended battery from here
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Extended-Battery-Replacement-Cover/dp/B004G7JWT8/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1337876031&sr=1-1 its a little more pricey but im running CM9 AOKP build 35.2 and get about 18 hours out of it, with at least 4-5 hours of usage on the web or talking on the phone. I watched several videos on Youtube with recommendations and thats what made me get one. I dont think I have ever had it die all the way on me during the day, as long as I charge it every day or two I have no problems. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Al_po8oanz0 this guy has multiple videos reviewing these batteries and after trying it out versus a generic 3500 mAh, it is much preferred.

That's okay? but the 3500 mAh Hyperion i can get 4-5 Hours of screen on as well as 18-24 Hours on ICS. Hell on CM7 i got close to 2.5 Days with about 1.5 Hours of screen on time.
Not to mention the 1800 Ankers are slim so it fits without a big back and gets still decent battery life i just got 16 Hours and 3 Hours of screen on time on the 1st charge just opened the battery up and put it in the phone @100% so it hasn't even settled in yet.

Extended batteries, cases and holsters

I have noticed on Amazon several extended batteries for the note 4 including hyperion, power bear, mpj, and several others. I am asking owners of any of these extended batteries to post here whether or not the battery and door they are using is compatible with the hyperion tpu case for note 4 extended batteries. I was also wondering if any of these with a tpu case installed would fit in the seidio dilex spring clip holster.
If u read the threads u will get ur answers
BAD ASS NOTE 4 & BAD ASS GEAR S
I've read the threads and did not find answers, genius.

I bought a 5470 mAh battery on Ebay. It is unbranded but is the same size as stock. I am very pleased. It was 16 bucks, and my phone will last 2 to 3 days of light to moderate use. My stock battery would shut down at 30%, which is a known problem. And it would barely last 24 hours with light use. I am very happy with it, it fits in my s-view case and charges wireless just fine. Hope that helps, I don't know about those other cases.

link please ?
Battery with same size, ALL have same ma or less than original. All other are placebo effect, or the original had drop down so much that you see difference. With a new one original you wont..
This has been discussed many many times for many phones and it is the only truth.

That may be. I bought the phone used, so I have no benchmark. But, this new battery works great and lasts a long time. I have done some research, and it's mAh, not mA. There is a difference.
