[SOLVED][Q] Help Needed With Boot Animation and Keyboard - HTC Desire S

Today I flashed Virtuous Unity v2.37 and I dont like its boot animation and i prefer to have the stock boot animation. Any way to get it?
In Virtuous the keyboard is with arrows ,which i dont like. I searche the whole setting to get rid of it, but still stuck on it. Help me out!!
EDIT : Link Here

download a bootanimation & rename it as bootanimation.zip(you can find some very nice ones using google but if you want something like stock try this thread)
then paste it in
/system/customize/resource
for the keyboard try this(from LBC site) not sure if it will work on VU but it works on LBC mod so do an nandroid backup before you try to install this just incase

[Boot Animation][Splash Screen]Dime's Incredible Dropbox

I am still monitoring this thread, but all new content moving forward will be on my blog to make things easier ^_^
This will be a thread for all the boot animations and splash screens I produce/edit. Some boot animations are ROM specific, as noted, and can simply be flashed via recovery or ROM Manager, others will need to be renamed and adb pushed to the correct location for the ROM you're using (PM me if you need assistance, happy to help ^_^). For the splash screens, you MUST be S-Off via unrevoked forever. I will be checking and updating this thread regularly so feel free to post any suggestions, comments or requests here in this thread.
Instructions for ROM specific boot animations
1)Download .zip file from your phone by following the link you want
2)Install from recovery or ROM Manager
3)Reboot & enjoy!
Instructions for generic boot animations
1)Download .zip file from your computer by following the link you want
2)Rename the downloaded .zip appropriately (Usually bootanimation.zip or VZW_bootanimation.zip; if unsure, contact your ROM chef or PM me and I'll help as best I can)
3)ADB push the renamed .zip file to the appropriate location on your phone (Usually /system/media or /system/customize/resource; again, if unsure, contact your ROM chef or PM me and I'll help as best I can)
4)Reboot & enjoy!
Instructions for splash1 screens
1)YOU MUST BE S-OFF IN ORDER TO USE THESE! IF YOU ARE NOT, GO HERE AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS LISTED BEFORE PROCEEDING TO STEP 2!
2)Download .zip file from either from your computer or your phone
3)Rename it to PB31IMG.zip
4)Remove or rename any existing PB31IMG.zip file from the root of your SD card and copy the one you just downloaded and renamed to the root of your SD card
5)Power off your phone, reboot into bootloader (hold volume down and power, when it turns on, release power but NOT VOLUME DOWN!)
6)The bootloader will scan the file and prompt you to hit volume up to install, do that (unless you were just doing all this for practice and don't actually WANT a new splash1 screen lol)
7)Reboot & enjoy!

where to push for redemptive 1.7? adb push VerizonBootAnimation.zip/system/app ?
or system/resource/customize and is it VZW_bootanimation that i need to renale it? or something else? are they still VZW files? or sprint?
Dont tell me to use root explorer, i like adb.

lol no worries, I never tell people what to do, only what I would do ^_^ I would just flash it in Recovery or ROM Manager (Heard some people having trouble with ROM Manager method, haven't been able to duplicate). If you really want to ADB push it, first you have to open up the RedemptiveRevolution_BIOS_boot_animation.zip file you downloaded, go in to the system>customize>resource folder and pull out the VZW_bootanimation.zip Then you can ADB push that exact VZW_bootanimation.zip file, no renaming necessary, to /system/customize/resource and you should be golden, but again, that's more work than you have to do ^_^
Good question though, and I updated the OP accordingly so hopefully it'll be a little clearer moving forward, that was my fault. The way I'm trying to do this is, any boot animations that are ROM specific (Custom ROM logos, wording, etc...), I'll install the ROM on my phone once I'm done with the boot animation and then try and load it myself. If it works, I post it, if not, I try again lol. That way, if it's in the ROM Specific section, all you should have to do is flash the downloaded .zip file in recovery or ROM Manager. It's when you dip into the Generic section that you have to be a teeeensy bit savvy and I'll be glad to help with those, just drop me a PM or a message here in this thread (Need to know what ROM you're running) and I'll either walk you thru it or, if possible, repackage the boot animation for you so you can flash it to your ROM in recovery the easy way ^_^
Awesome work Dan. I donated last night and he had a custom boot animation for me within a couple hours. He'll put whatever text you want on the boot screen and a custom image. He'll also keep tweaking it until you are happy with it.
Couldn't be happier with the work!

I'm also using redemptive 1.7 on Dinc and am having trouble getting a boot animation I want to use to work. I'm using root explorer and have tried placing the .zip file in system/customize/resource and named it bootanimation.zip and also tried VZW_bootanimation.zip and am having no luck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Which one are you having trouble with? Again, if you guys are downloading the ROM specific ones, I've made that as simple as pie, just flash them in recovery or from ROM manager. If it's a different one, lemme know and I can make you a flashable .zip for Redemptive (How much do you LOVE those transitions by the way? Those things are sick!)
very nice work dude!
would really LOVE to see a DROID X BIOS one, i would use it for sure!
the generic incredible one is awesome
Thanks guys, I'd love to update these for other devices, but I have a D'Inc and my gf has a Moto Droid so that's all I can test on lol I need some testers *hint hint*

Love the redemptive animation! Lou is doing some sick work. I just got my wife a Moto X, but she would freak out if I started messing with it. All I can say is I wouldn't trade my Incredible for the Moto X.

Disable Boot Animation for xRecovery

Here's a tiny package to be installed with xRecovery, for people who would like to disable the boot animation.
It replaces the animation with a dummy bootanimation.zip (backup your bootanimation.zip if you use a custom animation)
Thanks to Oskar.k for the inspiration.
Tested on WB-XPERIA TW Gingerbread but should work on any rom.
If you install a new rom, theme, or wipe cache, the first boot can take more than 5 minutes. When installing this you will get a black screen instead of a picture from a boot animation, don't mistake it for a crash/freeze.
Installation:
- in xRecovery, install custom.zip, xRecovery-BootAnimationDisable.zip
or
- copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media/bootanimation.zip using a root explorer like Estrongs File Explorer (free from Market)
To install the stock animation, do the same with xRecovery-BootAnimationStock.zip
Apparently the clean way to disable the boot animation would be to add those lines to /system/build.prop:
ro.kernel.android.bootanim=0
debug.sf.nobootanimation=1
It works and it's a cleaner solution but it doesn't seem to be any faster.
I think a xRecovery package is the most convenient to use when installing/updating roms.
I see u uploaded, but there arent any credits for ideas :/

Sorry Oskar.k, It's not my style! I did wonder if I should mention it but I didn't think you'd consider it your idea or discovery that messing with the file disabled the animation, it was so trivial... the xRecovery package is so trivial too. To disable something, messing with a file is the first thing someone tries (right after deleting a file). But you did save me a couple minutes to test this for myself because I did open your file to notice why it disabled the animation (no files to be used in the 2MB zip), and your post is the inspiration for making a convenient solution for myself, that I'm sharing here in case it helps others, so I edited the post to mention you. No hard feeling?
ALL IS GREAT

[Q] How can I replace Trinity bootscreen?

Wondering if anyone can help...I love the Trinity kernel but I really don't like the splash screen and boot image it installs, and when I try to go into themes and select another boot sequence it doesnt override the Trinity one. Any ideas or help??
I am running MIUI with Trinity
Just a question but do you mean you download the boot animation and flash it through clockwork.

Download the bootanimation you want and drag the bootanimation.zip into /system/media. The splash screen i dont know how to change but i would also like to know...
using application such as Root Explorer
find or make an animation file (format ZIP) I can provide one
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7B5J2XBE
copy or paste it to /system/media , replace the old one , and set permission , i don't remember exactly what permission , but i am using 777
this is my current boot amination from cartoon "Neon Genesis Evangelion", of course you can find other ones you like, this is just for you to know it and comprehend it
remember , most important is SET PERMISSION
if you DO NOT set permission , you will be experience unstoppable reboot loop , you just keep rebooting ...only way to recover is using recovery to restore your backup or flash new ROM, maybe you can fix it via ADB in bootloader, but i don't know
any way , you better back your system up by recovery

be careful with MIUI , specially when you apply theme , if theme contains boot sound or boot animation , it may replace and overrun the default
there's also an app call ROM toolbox ( i have the paid app ) and there's many different options, one being the ability to change the boot animation ( with around 150 options ). i would definitely check it out.
sounds nice , but it will makes you feel more sense of fulfillment if you get it done by you own, don't you think
You can't lose the Trinity splash screen unless you compile the kernel yourself without it.

[Q] OrDroid's Boot Animation

Is there anyway to get the Boot Animation from OrDroid's ROM to Team PkMn's ROM? Well at least on my phone? It's the boot animation that spells out Sense and then the letter flips to spell out Sensation.
It actually seems like an HTC official boot animation? But is there anyway to get it on my phone, (on Team PkMn's 4.6)
Not official, just looks good.
I think it's at /system/customize/resource. You can use root explorer to copy it to your SD card, then replace the bootanimation.zip on the new rom and reboot.
Thanks! worked perfectly after following your instructions! I installed the Boot animation through the tweaks!

Stock HTC One S Boot Animation

I figured I haven't seen this mentioned in this forum, so due to all the new ROMs and experiments coming for the VilleC2 I thought perhaps it'd be of some use to people. I've attached the stock boot animation for the HTC One S in case anybody is trying to get their device back to stock and has flashed their own animation without backing up.
If you're using a custom ROM such as MIUI or CM10, you can just copy the animation to the following path (make sure to rename your file to bootanimation.zip):
Code:
/system/media/bootanimation.zip
Otherwise if you're sat on a stock ROM you need to copy it to the following path (make sure to use the original file name of the download):
Code:
/system/customize/resource/hTC_bootup_one.zip
In addition, I added the shutdown animation to the post too although I think this is only really going to be needed by people on stock ROMs. The shutdown animation goes to the same file path on a stock ROM as the boot animation.
Just thought this might be helpful as I was in this situation earlier!
We appreciate the helpful post, however this thread is more suited for the themes and apps section. I have already moved it for you
