I'm guessing some manufacturers cards work better, faster? I'm seeing class 4, 2, 10! 32, 16gb. Are there brands to just stay away from? Just scrolling through amazons 32gb selection reviews I'm in doubt about quality, or fake knockoff cards.
Thanks !
I got a 32gb class 10
what brand was it?
Lexar 32GB Class 10 for $100
I bought a Patriot 16GB class 10 for $40 on Amazon...Never heard of the brand, but its been working solid since I got it and speed tests confirm its class 10

of all the different brands of thumbdrives i've owned, i have an 8 gb Patriot that connects to every PC i've tried it on. Newegg doesn't sell it anymore.
i did find a Patriot 8 gb micro SD though!
Using an A-Data 16GB Class 6. Just got it today and it's working great. $30 on Newegg

Here's a good deal from amazon right now:
Patriot Signature 16 GB Class 10; ~$30
I would stay away from Class 2 or 4 for HD videos since I am concerned about transfer rates. Maybe someone else can comment?
seems like if we want to play video or high speed transfers the choice is a class 6 minimum. I went ahead with qubits recommendation and went for the lexar class 10.
I was testing an 8gb a data generic card, and a few smaller ones without a problem. Some post earlier in the board said,"go big, or go home.' That stuck, so I went for the 32gb. I sure did t want to get a huge card that wouldn't play well with the xoom. So another vote for the lexar.
A-Data 16GB Class 6, works great for me.
Hi there as we start to get ready for the purchase of our new 3D Phone.
what Micro sd cards will you be buying class 2,4,6,10 and capacity and which brand and from who.

keeping all that in mind we need the best price I was thinking a 16 or 32gb not sure on class, but best price is a deff
These guys have some of the best prices in the EU:
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Micro-SDHC?filters=size:16384#allProducts
Got a 16GB sandisk class 4 that has been tested to run at class 6 read and almost 6 at write.
Now there is a sale on integral, kingston and sandisk, all at class 4.
Keep an eye open they may get something better...
Does anyone know if Lexar Micro SD Cards are any good?

Lexar are maybe the best memory avaiable.
I bought a Mustang 16gb class10
done some test:
18-20mb/s read
15-17mb/s write
so fast
If you can recommend the Mustang Cards i think i'll try one as well as they are really cheap compared to other cards (~35€ for 32GB instead of 45€-60€). Will get the 32GB though.
yes i have one olso on my digital camera and 0 problems

I have an ADATA 32GB SDHC class 4 but when connected via USB cable in mass storage mode the write speed stays below 300KB/s.
If I place the card in a USB adapter the writing speed is about 4,6MB/sec.
What is the problem? Thanks!

Doesn't the PSP run on Memory Stick's rather than SD cards?
Am using A-Data 8GB class 4, it works fine (both stills and video is being smoothly recorded) so i dont see any reason why to pay more for better (faster) class

me to. great memory card. 12mB average write speed
I just shelled out for a 32 gig one from sandisk, I went the cheapy route on ebay and got a crap card that ended up sending back. Quality was ****, my question is can the internal sd card be upgraded?
Hi guys i am looking to buy a 32gb Class 10, MicroSD card for my Desire, i am planning to partition it so i can have more internal space. After searching the market for a competitive price, i have came down to 2 options:
Lexar 32GB Micro SDHC Class 10 Extreme Speed
Samsung MB-MSBGAEU 32GB Class 10 Micro SD Card
I would appreciate if users here can recommend me which one i should go for and why (if owned either and used) ?
Thanks alot
As far as I know, many of the higher class cards have been produced by biasing performance to continuous read/write speeds, for use in camcorders/cameras etc so they can record ultra HD or burst capture etc. HOWEVER, for use in a phone, which needs greater random read/write access they can suffer compared to a regular class 4 which is a better balanced card. There is a lot of this going on in the HTC Mozart pages here on XDA, where I've been spending time (had a Mozart, ROM'd it and gave it to my girlfriend, she loves it).
Many people have tried different 32gb/16gb cards, different classes from 2-10 and the results have been surprising. WP7 seems to be unusually fussy about the cards that will actually work with it, and the only card guaranteed to work everytime is SANDISK which says a lot about the quality, and people have been finding that performance with a Class 4 SanDisk card is better than performance with a supposed Class 10 card by another manufacturer such as Integral, Transcend etc or even Samsung and Kingston.
In the end I bought a 32gb SanDisk Class 4 off Amazon, for a lot more than they are on eBay at around £28, apparently there are loads of near-fakes on eBay (only way I could guarantee it was genuine- the chinese are using genuine 4gb SanDisk cards and then re-branding and re-coding them as 32gb, the card thinks it's a 32gb, reports that it's a 32gb card but obviously runs out of room and has errors as soon as you try to put stuff on it).
Hope this helps- generally you get what you pay for and if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
I bought yesterday a samsung class 6, 16 GB micro-sd card.
H2testw:
Writing speed: 10.00 MByte/s
Reading speed: 15.5 MByte/s
i know this post is about 20 days old, but maybe you haven't choosen a sd card yet
i first got a 16gb lexar class 6 card -> everything was fine
now i got a 32 gb samsung class 10 card
and i must say there is no remarkable speed/transfer difference
so buy a card which is class 6 or higher and everything should be fine
I have the Lexar class 10 32Gb card in my Desire, no problems. I bought it from Amazon during their Black Friday sale.
I have the Samsung 32gb class 10. Working flawlessly with 1gb ext4.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Lol I have the Samsung 32gb class 10. Working flawlessly with 2gb ext4.
Lexar 32 gb class 10
I got a lexar 32 gb class 10 at Christmas. So far no troubles, but I've never done any speed tests on it.
So far happy.
I got a 'Lexar 32GB Micro SDHC Class 10 High Speed' for £27 from Play.com and it works a treat!!!
Samsung MB-MSBGAEU 32GB Class 10 Micro SD Card

4k (QD32) read: 3.833MB/s 4k write: 0.683MB/s
I think I have fallen foul of this, I bought two 32gb cards from'micro sd cards uk' @ about 15 quid each and I cant write to them properly they are class 10 so they should be ok but I have nothing but probs with them on two laptops with different cards readers,
Ill contact the vendors tomorrow Ill keep you posted.
Sounds very cheap for a class 10 32gb card, I bought my samsung one around christmas for £35 and that was the cheapest price at the time!
I'm sorry to say this but if something sounds to good to be true then it probably is...
Definately Lexar that's what use and its works great and very fast too
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium HD app
I have been using Lexar 32gb class 10 for a year and its very good. I bought it for 29$ on a sale and that's what makes it amazing actually.
Here are the avarege speeds after 3 runs:
Read 19.4
Write 10.8
I strongly suggest to anyone.
not just ebay
In the end I bought a 32gb SanDisk Class 4 off Amazon, for a lot more than they are on eBay at around £28, apparently there are loads of near-fakes on eBay (only way I could guarantee it was genuine- the chinese are using genuine 4gb SanDisk cards and then re-branding and re-coding them as 32gb, the card thinks it's a 32gb, reports that it's a 32gb card but obviously runs out of room and has errors as soon as you try to put stuff on it).

I thought that the maximum allowed for Desire was 16 gb. Mine is 16 gb (Samsung), with good data transfer performance. By the way, in your situation I would go for Samsung.

-Samsung microSD SDHC 32gb Class10
This was the Ebay seller
Hi Guyz,
I am planning to get a 8gb class 6 memory card. Which one of the following should i choose.

OR

Please help
Thanks for suggestions guys . I bought sandisk 8 gb class 6. Vie speed s excellent .

Samsung Card is great but I found that I can't use it with SuperNova Extreme Edition - The one with Unlimited Internal Storage, better go with Transcend or as the already stated try Sandisk.
Anyone know of a good microSD card Class 10 16GB i can buy from amazon?
Neither. Try this one.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Cla...J5E2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1332324788&sr=8-3
Have you tried it? Is it fast?
I have Trancend 8Gb class 10 card. Bought it a few weeks a go and I have only positive feelings of it. My previous card was 4gb class2 card. The new one feels faster, haven't tried any benchmark software though.
I think i'll go for the Samsung microSDHC Plus 16GB Class 10 one!
Avoid the Kingston class 4 SD cards. They're supposed to be class 4 but perform like a class 2. It ticks me off because I bought one and it's not that much faster. I had to avoid using roms which recomend a class 4 SD card.
Thanks for all the suggestions They have really helped
I don't recommend class 10 card. It will not be faster than class 6.
I'd suggest Sandisk, Transcend, Kingston etc. class 6.
I bought a sandisk class 6 memory card. the card is superb. Thanks for your suggestion guyz !!!
Can someone tell me which is the highest class of SD card, which will b fully used by Desire S
And is there noticeable drop in performance of the phone between full 16gb and 32gb?
Thanks
Imo class 10 is the fastest SD-Class.
I'm using a 16Gb class 10 card and it's really fast.
32Gb card was (for me) too expensive...

Class 10 is the fastest micro SD card for now, but the htc engineer does not suggest that we use it because it could lead to some unknown error.
Class6 is enough.
32GB is supported by Desire S.
The purchase of the brand, Samsung is not a good choice because their indicators are virtual.
That's my personal opinion, just for reference.
I moved from a 16g class 4 to a 32g class 6 card, everything runs smoothly and didn't really notice any drop in performance.
Swyped from my Desire S using Tapatalk 2
i am using Kingston 8GB MicroSDHC Class 4...its working awesome
Toshiba 16gb class 6. No problem so far.
Got a 32 Go samsung class 10, works perfectly for me
tested via SD card tester,
average write speed 9.2 Mo/s
average read speed 11.4 Mo/s
Maybe I was lucky - but I'm happy with it
8 Gb SanDisk Class 4, works well enough but USB transfer speeds could be better
Class 4 sandisk 8gb, 5.8 write, 11 read. Thanks for the other info, I'm upgrading.
Scandisk class 10 16GB works like a charm with no problems.
Read 19.5
Write 8.6

Sandisk 32GB class 10 or Kingston
When you test a lot of roms (as beta tester), different tools or apk skinned, you need some space and faster w /rw
You could find this class of sdcard not really expensive, you must search a little.
i think people are exaggerating with these SD card classess.. my advice is that class4 and a quality brand should be enough for everyone. in fact you can have a class10 card from a noname manufacturer and the actual speed is same as class4 and a good brand. good brands are all that actually manufacture the chips. they are toshiba and sandisk/samsung. if you buy a sony, nokia or similar, you also buy those mentioned before, only rebranded. there is much written about this on the web, but in general: if you can't afford a 16gb class10 sandisk and they are trying to sell you same spec kingston for half of this price, it does mean something!
