I have been having problems with my mms since I first received my Nexus. MMS take 3 days to send and downloading mms gets stuck at downloading and never opens. I did some research and from what I understand it has something to do with your APN settings, try searching for the correct APN settings for your area and provider. APN settings can be found in ---> SETTINGS>WIRELESS&NETWORKS>MOBILE NETWORKS>
ACCESS POINT NAMES
** I have yet to fix my MMS issues, if you find something I would love to know

Yea, I don't know if re-flashing the ROM would be of any use. Some people argue that MMS only work if you have a data plan with your provider, but I've read otherwise as well. I've also heard of Nexus users getting more up-to-date sim cards and that fixed their issues, maybe worth a try? You might want to give your provider a call and ask them for the correct APN settings or at least explain your problem to them and see if they offer any assistance.
LOL sorry I post so many question but don't have the time to search the entire site......
What do u guys mean by the tmobile radio and what is its purpose?

Hello everyone,
First of all, I have a sidekick 4G that I unlocked through a unlock code website. And the sidekick is running on AT&T with Edge and talk (receive and send) working flawlessly.
The only problem I have is that I can receive text messages, but cannot send any.
So I went ahead and called Samsung and they suggested that the problem was my messaging center number, so I followed their directions and did this ,MESSAGING->MENU BUTTON->SETTINGS and scrolled down to messaging center only to find it greyed out.
I have the latest update and did a factory reset and what not.
My question is how do I set the messaging center number from the one Tmobile set to AT&T 's messaging center number?
Please help! I don't want to have a unlocked phone that cannot send text messages!
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Call AT&T and ask. Or ask a friend that has an Android. The number should be the same. If you can't get it to work then you can always download an app that gives you a number for texting, i.e. Google Voice, textfree, etc.
Look in the settings of your previously used phone you had for AT&T. The number should be there. If not, ask a friend. If not, then you can call AT&T. I believe numbers differ according to region, based on a quick Google search.
I have the number, its just that the field where I enter the number is greyed out, meaning I can't configure it. Are all sidekicks like that?

Go to settings wireless n networks mobile networks Then access point names then click on tmobiles apn and edit it or add ur own apn the best is to copy it from another android on att u can just go to the store and copy it from there floor modles the line for the texting is the mmsc line

Did you try with both wifi and data network?
Remainder of my comments assume problem with data network ...
you can have a problem if the wrong name at settings/wireless & network/mobile_networks/access_point_names although I forget how to find the correct name.
Sorry if I misunderstood your question.
With it being a go phone sim you will have to go into att store and tell them the problem. They have to enable the 4g data on it.

hey guys,
after updating my nexus s to ICS recently, i developed an issue with the radio, not connecting to a data connection. after some research, i found a diffrent radio which might fix everything.
It didnt, it made everything worse. i cant send any sms's anymore from my nexus s, and still cant data connect. i've been researching since than, and found i should re-enter the smsc code in *#*#4636#*#*. i've searched my smsc code which appearantly was +32486000005, after converting this to PDU, i got 07912384060000F5 as final code which i should enter. after entering it in my nexus S, it gives an 'update error'. I've no idea what i should do now to fix both the data connection and the smsing.
Thanks in advance
What service provider are you using? What rom and kernel? What radio? More details makes things easier when trying to help you. I had a similar issue on my Nexus S. I'm at work now but when I get home I will flash my phone over to the same from, kernel, and radio you're running and see what's going on.

Hey atrix, thanks for the reply.
I got Mobile vikings (belguim)
Rom is currently the official ICS, but the same issue occured with GS, gingerbread CM7 and kangy's
Kernel =3.0.8-gb55e9ac
i used matrix's and SG's aswell, all failed.
radio is kli, tried with kb3, and a few others
Alrighty. Thanks for the background info. Ill load up in a bit here and get to testing. It may just be a bad combo of kernel/rom/radio.

Thank you, its a I9020T
I did a little digging myself quick while the from and stuff download. Slow internet here lol you run an mvno from Base there in Belgium. So you'll require the 850mHz band for GSM connection and wcdma 2100 band for your 3G. Now what were gonna have you do first is dial *#*#4363#*#* and let me know what it says right above radio. I'm going to start checking basebands to make sure they're 100% compatible with your MVNO.

Enable / disable radio? -> GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)
Switch to wcdma only. Also do you have voice right now and just no data/SMS/MMS? Also under settings-wireless and network-network/mobile provider-APN/access point names what do you have set up in there?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
i get a screen with APN's on top, and nothing on screen
Bloody hell. That's your problem. Create a new APN there with you're MVNO/ service providers settings. Ill see if I can dig em up for ya. However I don't know if it will for sure fix the SMS part of your problem. It may but I'm not sure

Create a new apn with these settings
APN Name:web.be
User name:web
Password:web
I've got that so far. I'm digging for more info on your APN. Try that and see what happens.

Also reset your radio again to GSM/CDMA with the *#*#4363#*#* option. Test and report. Then well narrow down more problems if they exist.

User name:mms
Password:mms
MCC:206

and flashing to a new rom/kernel fixed my problems ! you saved my nexus ^^
Awesome!!! And you're very welcome. Glad we saved another Android how bout your SMS? Now that you have data your SMSC should update too. Either way I'm glad we fixed ya up.

One piece of advice too. BACKUP YOUR EFS PARTITION!!! Ill see if I can dig up the thread and link it for you. It contains your IMEI AND SERIAL NUMBER and all that good stuff. You ever corrupt, lose, or erase that partition and you'll never get it back. That partition is unique to each individual handset.

I have the same problem. At the moment i'm using CM9 and can't change the smsc. I tried to follow the advise given by astrixboy but got to the point where i couldn't find where to create a new APN.
Anyone who knows where to find this?
