Hi people,
I have compiled my own kernel, the initramfs is from skin because I spend all my time on CM7.
I have not tested it, because I dont have the device.
Read the disclaimer:
Netchip is not responsible for damage caused by the kernel and / or device.
If you encounter problems using this kernel, in what a way, I am not responsible.
You flashed the kernel, it is your responsibility.
This kernel is not tested!
This kernel is very very unstable, and not tested

Before you flash this, make a nandroid backup, this script wipes all your data, set back your nandroid backup immediatley after install of this kernel, no reboot!
Features:
- BFQ
- CWM
- AUX Video driver
- EXT4
Install:
Install it directly via Odin
Enjoy
I will try this tomorrow and let you know!
Right now I don't have my computer!
Thanks!

This is KPH if I dont had it wrong.
But it can flashed on any firmware.
I cannot guarantee that it works on every firmware

I go repair it tomorrow, I have now no time.
really wanted to test it, but after already arriving with the first error, better not ^ ^
I wait for now.
But I think good, that someone still wants to write a kernel.
When he finishes, he is definitely good. with all the features.

You are wrong... the problem is not there. Maybe the issue is cause by
Code:
write_raw_image
i'm not sure it can works on our phone.... maybe netchip can try with bmlwrite binary...
Another thing.... to test this kernel:
-extract the normalboot.img and flash it with heimdall;
or
- extract normalboot.img ---> pack it into a .tar --->flash with Odin
Omg, I go make Odin/Heimdall package. I make it also abiable.for rom managrr

Hi,
This tool unlock bml5 to allow writing of kernel with a simple "dd" command.
You can find also a basic update.zip for CWM that :
- Make backup of the current current
- Flash new kernel
The bmlunlock tool is in kernel_updater.zip.
How to use :
Put your zImage in the update.zip. Then, use CWM and install zip.
This tool was made by Koush (Thank to him ): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=767431

Hi Guys.
User "rb210" asked me to help porting CWM to I9003.
I've built it from sources and created a correct recovery.fstab with the partition layout of your device.
Since i'm not owning a I9003, i cannot do more for you. Sorry. :-(
Here are my tools to create a normalboot.img and a recovery.img based on stock kernel:
http://www.multiupload.com/5W80N6HOW2
Don't know if it's the right way, because it's very different compared to I9000.
CWM recovery binary is included at root/sbin and recovery/sbin folders.
Read teh README!
Good Luck
Thank you mate for helping us. It would be great, if it works on I9003. We appreciate your work for I9003. Hope now I9003 will have CWR running soon.
How do you proceed from here ?

Yes, download mode will still be available. I bricked my phone 3-4 times last night while testing the PDA tarballs codeworkx built. In the end he gave me this PDA to restore my phone to normal.

Restore the default image with the file I uploaded. Like I said, I tried some builds but I had to revert back to normal. This isn't working yet but it is a start.
I build from source a recovery.img that works... or so i think... now i'm gonna try with normalboot.img.. finger crossed
Can you provide brief explanation, how to compile this? Even I would like to try.

I've done many tests, finally i can say that we must review the mkbootimg method.... if i unpack the stock kernel files and then i repack it doesnt work...
Guys
I just made a cwm.zip with boot.img support (aka kernel)
I have already got a tester to test the backup, and it works perfect
I dont have a kernel to flash yet, so that will be next
Here is the download
http://www.madteam.co/forum/development-79/(cwm)-galaxy-y/new/#new
Im also going to make a stock boot.img with CWM inside, then you dont need to use the update.zip anymore
For those willing to test, please enter the madteam.co/forum and place your support there
Thanks,
Madteam
i will be tester
why dont you just upload it here ?
This one is also not a permanent recovery like skin1980.
everytime we have to boit intio stock recovery and apply update.zip from sdcard.
But THANKS for nice work.
Please provide tje kernel soon.
Also expecting an ICS ROM soon.
thanks a lot... at least now we will have full init.d support.

won't flash. it erases boot then it says that there's an error. an it reboots to recovery without starting the os.

above file cwm-madteam-galaxY.zip seems to work quite OK.
it still does display version # 5.0.2.6 though. if the other CWM-by-skin1980 was altered, maybe the version # should be 5.0.2.7 or so to tell them apart.
over here, cwm-madteam....zip it is still a temporary secondary recov menu. which is no big problem of course.

FSTRIM on install
MD5: 5FC20ACAE047603EEB1B3C0A6BA7396A
Notes:
Should update bootloader. It is attached as a ZIP file but is not flashable! You need to fastboot flash it. For those in windows I have batch file in there along with ADB and fastboot.
First boot is a loooooooooooong time! About 5 to 7 minutes!
You must be on TWRP 2.8.1.0 for this ROM to Flash properly!
Troubleshooting
If you get no status bar reboot to recovery and clear all cache. If that doesnt work try flashing the factory image then flash TWRP again and then this ROM.
Getting Symlinks failed during install? Make sure /system is unchecked in TWRP mounts
Problems with internal storage? Look at THIS POST for fix by @freakzapster
Root doesnt work for a specific app? Contact the App developer. Do not post about it in this thread.

It's no harder than hitting Download!
