[Q] Titanium Backup not restoreing - Samsung Infuse 4G

I have a Infuse running Titanium Backup Pro. I have been trying to restore programs that i have frozen in order to get the Att update. The App attempts to restore but just sits there with the spinning bars. I have allowed it to sits there for over 30 mins and nothing happens.
I'm at a lost for what to do.
Thanks in advance,
Justin

Do you have USB debugging enabled? Also check the non market Alps checkbox.
Both options are at (frome homescreen)
menu.settings.applications.development
Afterwards open TB and hit menu.reload application

All that is done and still have the same problem. I'm not sure I'm even looking at the right problem. The reason I'm trying to restore the app (com.android.app.drmua) is because the Att update keeps failing. I have tried with and without WiFi.
Thanks,
Justin

your phone is rooted - go back to stock froyo and try again. i'm guessing you need to be completely stock before you are able to get OTA updates.
when you go back to stock, it will put all of your bloatware back.

Im not sure how to go back to stock froyo. Is there a set of directions somewhere?
Thanks in advance

Don't mean to be harsh... But if you don't know how to get back to stock, or even search for how to get back - you really shouldn't be messing with your phone like you're doing.
But just this one time - go into the development thread, and look for [Odin]. That is how you get back to stock.

Android.process.acore

Well again.... Im about to lose my minda because of this damn thing! Now I'm getting a fc every 5 sec... Process acore? My tab is essentially dead? Can't do anything author a fc, can't go into settings our anything... I want to smash this thing! I just got it working well and now this? Anyone know what that process is? I cam do anything with it now, cant load a new rom because I can't get into settings. Its just in an intimate loop of fc. The real disaster is im in idaho, where I got it as a gift, and I'm flying back to nc in the morning.. Can't take out back before I leave..
Anyone know anything about the fc?

I think I need to do a reset, but if I can't open settings I'm lost? Not sure how it happened, it just started doing it.

If you can get ClockWork to run on boot .You might need to wipe data and reinstall the rom..Not much you can do when it is constantly Fc'ing
Well I don't have cw on the tab, its still stock.. I'm hoping I can plug into a pc, download it and get root that way? Then possibly load a new rom... Otherwise I'm screwed.
Think that will work?

Maybe you should restore it back to factory settings...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
That will bring it back to how it was out of the box, then start over.
If there are still issues then possible hardware problems?
Had this issue, even after NV flash. I was able to get CW (even with the fc) on and wipe, and partition the sd to 2gb. That seems to have cleaned it up.
This forum is the greatest on the entire internet!
Glad to hear you got it working. Imo, your issue is probably the worst thing about running stock - if you get these FC's, there's really no fix unless you take the risk of using a mod.
I believe it's the same reason why Staples pulled the devices - too many returns due to FC's OOTB.
Yes, it's too bad they did not include the "easy" button to reset to stock. Even with the upgrade, it may be enough to ultimately kill off the device. With all of the recovery images on my laptop now, I can put humpty dumpty back with ease. It's good for me, I plan to watch for returns. I could use a couple more of these.
I got cw installed and vegan, the table works like I'd expect now! This thing is awesome! Thanks for the help.
A resolution
I had this same issue happen to me on a new ROM not factory. I couldn't get into settings either to do the contact wipe. But Titanium was installed on it and I was able to wipe the contact data through there. Just an FYI if anyone else runs across the same problem.
Thanks to you Snyper....I just picked up my tab after placing it down for 10 mins and saw this error. Just a quick search in the thread and there is the answer. Man this forum rocks!!!
Just happened to me running vegan 3
clearing contact info worked like a champ!
thanks guys
I have the same issue. But, I don't have CW installed, Titanium won't load up. How can I manually get the clockword APK file on there to attempt to install it?
Any other ideas?

Hi,
Having had this acore FC problem last night, I have a couple of questions:
1) In your post above, you seem to have thought that this only happens with stock TNT. But, in this thread, it seems like others that are not running stock TNT also encounter this problem. So, it this a potential problem with all ROMs, or just with stock TNT?
2) From reading through and other threads, one fix when it happens is to clear the Contacts and ContactsProvider data, either using Settings, if you can get to it, or using Titanium, if you have it. I'm assuming that what both of those steps do is to clear out the tables in SQLlite for the Contacts and ContactsProvider apps. Is that right? If it is, do you, or does anyone know the command lines that would do the same thing?
The reason for the latter question is that when I had the problem, I could still do adb shell. If there was an sqllite command I could have used to clear the problem, I definitely would have done that, instead of having to install CWM, re-partition, and re-flash stock 3452!
Thanks,
Jim

[Q] Market won't open on rooted device?

I rooted and then began backup with Titanium BU. I was uninstalling all the bloatware BS when I accidentally uninstalled the google application that allows my market to function. Is there a way to simply reinstall it without having to mess around with too much stuff? I'm an amateur at this sorta stuff, hence the mistake. Thanks.
If you backed up with TB, then just restore it.
Have you enabled side loading
I'm not exactly sure how to do that. I'm a newbie.
I uninstalled with Ti BU while I was backing up everything else. I thought the google app package was bloatware from AT&T. If there isn't an easy way, I'm just going to teach myself to use Odin and flash stock ROM, but I'd rather not do that.
If you backed everything up, go into titanium, backup and restore, click filers, backed up, look for talk, or gtalk. Restore

You either have to enable side loading, then find the app
Or use odin
How do I enable side loading, and then how do I load it?

Download gtalk apks. Can not install then with out side load capability since their source is not the market
Wouldn't a reset just put him back to stock so he can start over?

Odin yes. I did the same thing when I first rooted my phone. Either odin, or install gtalk will fix. Factory reset from inside phone will not bring app back

[Q] Unable to text unless my battery is in the red after the offical update

Long time lurker, but i dont think i have posted before...so sorry if this is on the wrong place/already been answered, if that is the case i would love be be redirected to where i should go.
Anyways, after updating this morning, everything worked fine other that some occasion lag. But when i opened up handcent, it was just a black screen. so i reinstalled it, and still no dice. the default messaging app had the same problem. If someone texted me i wouldnt get it, and there was no way for me to send out a text. then, when my battery went down to red, all of a sudden it worked like normal. i was able to charge it and even when the battery was full it still worked. However, when i reset my phone, it stopped working again, and resumed working when my battery got to red. Im pretty sure those are the only symptoms i noticed...Any ideas on what is going on/what i can do to remedy it?
And fyi, i was rooted before the upgrade and have rooted since. I had oclf, but disabled it before i upgraded.
Shameless bump, I really need help
Only thing I can think of is a bad install of the update. I would suggest going back to 2.1 using odin and then reinstalling the froyo update

So step one of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884364
Then follow the installation of 2.2 as samsungs website outlines? Would that require me to restore all of my apps and settings from tibu again?
Thanks

Yea if you are going to flash back to odin you will need to back up all user apps using titanium backup. Make sure you do not restore any system apps though as that can cause problems. Also you will lose your texts so I would recommend backing them up. I use sms backup+

My friend had the same problem and had to go back to 2.1 and re-install the update and then it worked. Seems like the update didn't install correctly on a handful of Captivates.
okay so i still haven't done this because of how long restoring everything with tibu takes, but if I am gonna have to go through this process again, should i just make my first venture into flashing a custom rom? Am i correct in thinking that flashing wont be messed up because of the current glitch i have because it all reverts back to stock as the first step anyways?

erased AACOUNTS AND SYNC from the settings menu, need help

I rooted and installed TB on a friends infuse, he preceded to erase accounts and sync on accident while he was dumping some att stuff. At least that is what he says.
I tried restore from TB and it just hangs. So then I force closed tb.
any advice?
On his batch menu in tb "accounts and sync" has that black strikethrough through it.
I'm not quite sure what he did exactly, but before I gave him back the phone I made a backup in tb. But this isn't working, so I'm looking for a solution.
thanks for any help.
I'm fastboot , adb proficient, but Im no expert.
Having made the backup with TB of the apps. I would suggest using Odin to restore back to stock and then you can restore the apps back onto the phone with TB. Remember, just apps... not system data. There may be a more simple solution, but this should work.
yup, i'm thinking that to. I was just reading about odin. I tried just a factory reset and then rerooted but it doesn't show up.
thanks dude
seems like I would need the apk and one other file? if I could just get those copies if someone wanted to email them
I was contemplating the option of the files as well, but I don't know if uninstalling them, however he did it, removed anything else or just the apk. Even on that note, I'm not 100% certain if getting the apk from someone else would fix it, but I suppose it is worth a shot.
I didn't want to go as far as a custom recovery on a phone that this guys knows nothing about. That and I don't know anything about samsung.
looks like I'm going with Stock_Deodexed_Root_NoBloat.zip
or would GTG's_Ultimate_Unbrick.zip be better? oops, I meant this one
Odin_UCKE3_v2.zip
I think the Ultimate Unbrick is a safe choice. It returns you completely to stock as well as removes root and the custom recovery(if you have it).
It's a decent option for anyone looking to revert back to where they started.
Obviously the stock+modded recovery and root is a nice option as well so that you don't have to do the steps separately, but that's up to you.
thanks for your help.
I don't think I'll ever get away from nexus phones after seeing what's behind this.

cant get past set up your new phone. help please

I flashed the phone back to stock and I made sure on odin re-partition was unchecked and it was but i didnt notice it automatically rechecked once I plugged in the phone for some reason. I freaked out and manage to unplug the phone just as it was starting the process. I didnt look like I screwed up anything up. I replugged it in and did everything right this time and it worked but now when i get to the setup on the phone it keeps crashing and i cant get past the set up your new phone part. I keep getting google services framework has stoppped working etc. and it keeps crashing and wont let me set up the phone. Any idea what could be wrong?
despite not being able to set it up i decided to root and install cwm and i was able to flash a new rom. the set up crashed on me again but i was able to get past it this time and seems to be running smoothly. hopefully. i do tend to go back to stock because i will be switching phones so any ideas why the set up keeps crashing when im on stock?

Sounds like all you need to do is a factory reset (through factory recovery or cwm) when that happens. I believe I can remember something like this being discussed on the return back to stock thread.
