Hi my IE can't play YouTube videos directly from browser all i have i just blank square where the video should be.
I've tried to reinstall YouTube app and I've tried to install HTC YouTube app but nothing works.
I've searched the forum and I've found this http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile/wp7-youtube-plugin-fix/ but links to tutorial are dead.
Any solutions guys ?
Maybe other apps to support YT plugin in IE browser ?
Have you tried by using the mobile site in IE, mine works with the Mango version installed and with the youtube app. The actual application stopped working but the mobile site now works.
Yes I've tried to run it with mobile settings but there was no differene.
I don't want to try reseting factory settings, can't be bothered with setting up everything from scratch ... I guess I'll just wait for official Mango realase from O2 network maybe that will help.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem. Thanks
can you be a bit more specified? what kind of connection are you on? are you using cooked or shipped ROM? can you browse other webpages?
i am using wi-fi connection and yes i am able to go on the internet, but not youtube. Keep getting a message saying "no videos"
right now youtube is under maintenance, do you have this problem before or just these past few hours?
I thought there is a youtube application provided? With that application, video is loaded fine. But when i tried to watch youtube video through Opera 9.5, it shown no video. Probably flash player matter?
Ok Thanks theclueless, maybe thats why its not loading. I will continue to try.

javascript is not enabled in opera 9.5 beta, and flash lite 2.1 doesnt support flv
either download the opera 9.5 build 1938 and install flash lite 3.1, or use the youtube app
@chink
mine is working now, maybe you should try yours

I also have the same problem with the youtube application not being able to connect, saying that there are "No Videos". I believe that this error started after I installed flash lite 3.1 and Opera 9.5 build 1938. I reverted back to build 1522 but can't figure out how to revert to the previous version of Flash Lite without a hard reset.

How did you manage to get it working? I can watch youtube videos on youtube application but not on opera 9.5 1938
i never had any issues with the youtube application, played my videos fine...
I had the same about one week ago. No change after restoring the registry, after hard reset everything worked fine.
My YouTube app started working again a few days ago, without any changes on my part. Could it be that the service itself is flaky at times?
I am not using a proxy server anymore. Before that I had the same problem of not finding any video.
I had a problem using the YouTube app with TMobile. I had to do two things to fix it:
1. Disable the TMobile proxy
2. TMobile has a block on certain websites that may be 'adult' in nature/content. I had to get TMobile to disable this before YouTube worked. I found out about this by visiting YouTube from Opera and getting redirected to a TMobile page with instructions on how to remove the content lock

YouTube- Connection failed?
Hey all,
I just got the Fuze yesterday (i still kind of miss my Wizard ).
I've been having the "Connection Failed" error when trying to use the YouTube application. I wonder if it's content being blocked? AT&T hides the app since they have no parental controls, so I'm curious to find out an answer.
My old phone didn't use a data plan, so I have MediaNet, brand-new with my phone. I haven't cooked my Fuze yet, so i'm on the original ROM.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!
------------------Edit:
Hey, I fixed it. HTC Fuze comes loaded with .NET framework v.2.0, so I just needed to upgrade to .NET framework 3.5. And that's why advanced config wasn't installing too!

If got both the 2.0 and 3.5 frameworks installed but still no connection. Advanced config works so I know the 3.5 framework is intact. Anyone think it would help to install the upgrade files from this site on it?
I was wondering if there was a way to get all the youtube videos when clicked on in opera 9.7 to open in the youtube application. Opera used to open the mobile version of you tube which would link to the youtube application when I chose a link from google, now however, It links to the youtube site and I get the flash error message.
I'm going to flash a new ROM onto my HTC HD2 soon when they get the HSPL sorted, which will hopefully restore this function of opera. However, I was wondering if anyone knew in the mean time how to change this in the settings.
I personally cannot find anything in opera:config.
Also when there are embedded youtube videos in websites is there a way to click on them to get them to open in the youtube application?
I've tried installing flash for opera on my phone. Which I think is what changed this setting. I removed it because it caused problems with Opera crashing.
I've also tried searching for this in google and this site but all I can find is people wanting to do the opposite, open youtube in opera.
Hi all!
I'm new to the Wp7 world and i'm very liking it
On my device I've got android before (hd2), and now Wp7, my question is about Youtube videos:
in pre-noDo update (I tested it like 4 months ago) I was able to watch youtube videos in browser, simply using the Microsoft youtube app, and setting my region in USA;
Now with NoDo, even using the USA location and region, and installed youtube app...Youtube videos embeded asks for flash (pre-Nodo will show a play button that calls the youtube app)
How can I fix this?
I searched already, all fixes refers to pre-NoDo OS and the only fix found is to set my region to USA (wich I already did)...
Any suggestions?
On a native Wp7 noDo device, is this happening??
Thanks a lot!
up! :-(
No solution? D:
Did you try LazyTube App?
as client app I use lazytube in fact
but in browser, if there is and embeded video, it asks for flash and not for the client :-(

Desktop view = flash
Mobile view = H.264 (via YouTube plugin)

That has nothing to do with it, I have my set for desktop version, and it automatically loads the MS YT app
Have you tried reinstalling it?
yes...
I'll try to do a factory/reset and retry!
Thx! I'll let you know!
Well, here my phone just asked to install the official YouTube app from the Marketplace and it's done!
Hello, YouTube has a new HTML5 mobile version, ios and Android can use it by connecting to m.youtube.com, but if I connect to that link I access the old version, why?
can i use this new version?
i've mango and ie9 with html5 support
I think that when u connect to YouTube that it checks your OS as well as your browser and, seeing wp7, it loads a mobile site.

That's a problem on YouTube's end, because IE9 Mobile is for YouTube an "unknown" browser and doesn't recognize the user agent, so you're being redirected to the standard mobile page. Microsoft is working with YouTube to get this fixed.
Is there any way to change the user agent? Maybe possible to make an app for that? So the websites would think we're using mobile Safari...

Go to http://www.youtube.com.
If Internet Explorer is set to prefer a mobile version, then switch YouTube to Desktop version (there is a link on the very bottom).
Go to http://www.youtube.com/html5 and turn HTML5 on.

Not all videos are HTML5 enabled, like the ones with ads.
I've tried and it works, but the mobile version is more usable than the desktop version..
ah cool! Got it...although i think i still prefer supertube
HTML 5 BBC iPlayer site for iPhone
Related to all this (and potentially more useful since we have decent YouTube clients anyway) -
Has anyone worked out how to get to the HTML5 version of BBC iPlayer? Now THAT would be brilliant...
Stopped working
Hi all
I had this working until last night when, without me doing anything m.youtube.com has simply stopped playing videos. The website works but when I select "Play Video" or click on the thumbnail it doesn't do anything. When I select "copy link" and paste it into the address bar it has a 3gp extension and I get a message saying: "internet explorer does not recognise this type of address and cannot display the page." Does anybody know how to get it working again?
I have opted into the HTML5 trial on the m.youtube.com site.
Cheers

Hi kearnychan
Yes, I can download one of many clients, but previously if I wanted to view an embedded youtube video on pocketnow.com, wpcentral.com or wmpu.com, I could just do so through the web page. Now, all I get is a message about Adobe Flash or taken straight to a Youtube page which asks me to opt into a HTML5 trial, which I have already opted into.
It isn't much fun to have to load a separate app, then search for the video you were trying to watch on a website, especially when I could do that a couple of days ago.
Any suggestions anybody?
Cheers

I'm not very technologically inclined but I have almost given up and decided to ask the experts:
I have a Palm Treo Pro with Windows Mobile 6.1 in which I have used Opera Mobile 10 since I got it. I have also had Flash Lite since the beginning and it has worked perfectly, I could visit Youtube and a grey box with a play button in the center would allow me to play the videos directly in the browser, tapping to go fullscreen.
Recently without any major changes to my phone I tried visiting Youtube and instead of the grey box for playing the video no longer appears. I click "Watch Video" and instead it launches Media Player Mobile which doesn't work anyways with Youtube for some reason. One day flash would play in the browser, and the next day it launches Media Player instead??
Plug-ins are set to ON, I have tried reinstalling Opera Mobile, Flash Lite, installed different versions and different combinations of versions for about two months now. I finally reset my phone to factory settings and started fresh, but still problems. I have no clue what I changed but I don't know why it wont allow me to play flash videos in Opera Mobile anymore. Instead it launches a player outside of Opera Mobile.
Question: How do I make Flash Lite my default Opera Mobile player? I want the grey box with the play button to watch in the browser. Now any flash videos don't show on pages, and any links to the video just launch in Media Player. I need the flash videos to quit launching to Media Player and show up/give me the option to play right in the browser.
P.S. from my googling it seems opera mobile and flash are a tricky subject?? I just don't understand what changed as I didn't really mess with anything.
Perhaps the issue isn't at your end at all. As time goes on older devices are going to get less and less support. Perhaps it's time for an upgrade?
I know I could use a new phone and how quickly things become obsolete. I'm not sure what would have changed in support or compatibility as no upgrades or version changes have been made.
Well I was able to figure my flash is at least working correctly after downloading and trying another mobile browser. Its only the problem of Opera now using Media Player as its default software for playing. There are no settings I can find for this but if I could switch the default player to the Flash that I have installed.
I was under the impression Opera should use the flash plugin automatically when I go in and enable plugins in Opera. It did this without problem until recently I wonder if Media Player launched and set itself as default player or something. There are no settings in Opera or Media Player for file associations, etc. I have tried looking in the .ini files for Opera as someone has suggested to me but no luck. Hopefully I will be able to get a new phone soon :/
