Im getting the Samsung Hercules...

Dont worry guys im keeping my SGS4G and use it to make videos and as my ipod player clever right... But what im going to do is... Once the hercules comes out im going to make tons of more videos on tweaks froyo to gb roms and evrrything cause i dont need to worry bout my daily phone use... So right now i have to slow down on the videos... I hope you guys understand. I will do videos time to time if theyre worth doing!

LOL I got it rooted now, I used superoneclick! Now i need help installing CWM

I suggest just taking some time to read through what's in the dev forum - hold off on posting there, but in general, just take time to read and research.
There's a LOT of information to absorb, but it's worth it if you take the time to read through it. It's part of my strategy for hitting the ground running with a new device - I'll spend a few hours reading through all of the recent threads to get a feel for things.

Gtg and mikeymike have stated they are leaving for SGS2. Entropy bought a SGS2, but still has his infuse so far.

First thing you would need is to be able to code in c++ and Java. Also helps to have a Linux Based system.

Theres been a few requests like this in xda general before i believe... Some very helpful links were posted like guides on coding in android and a jumpstart into the languages needed. Google might do the trick.

Have you heard of "thenewboston," there's a butt load of tutorials on his YouTube channel teaching Java, C++ and all kinds of other programming languages. If you ask me that's our best bet, although it takes a lot of dedication.

No, I've never heard of him. You're right, it may just be our best chance outside of a class. I had a friend teaching me, but he wasn't a very good teacher, haha.

Ports are like the gateway drug of developing. First its ports, then its customized ports, then they start tossing out buggy roms and then BAM out comes some glorious handcrafted masterpiece of a rom and everyone wants in.

I wish I had the time to develop still. Started to, and then time did not permit

Because the devs are doing this for free in there spare time. Your not paying them for this, they do it cuz they want to. If they dont put out ROMs or updates fast enough for you than go build a ROM yourself.

1 I don't like it I'm not a super computer that makes rom automatic
2 its kinda insulting asking only me why you don't ask Bryan or Thomas and see their reaction

Imagine that you're working on a project that you don't even have to, you just do it for fun and for other peoples enjoyment. Nobody needs you to do it, and they can all live just fine without it.
