Can u please give me a run through on how to do it
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
u should have pm it
In the future, if you want to talk directly to me, PM me. If you are just looking for help, just post a thread in general, and assume that I'm checking the forum.
The shutdown sound is in /system/media/audio/ui/shutdown.ogg
Find the sound you want either as an .ogg or convert it to an .ogg and push it there.
the shutdown animation is in /system/media/video, it's the shutdown folder there, and it runs through the pngs there.
A simple search could have done the same thing...
Ok sorry i didnt know ill pm u next time i just knew u knew how to do it so i directed it towards u but will do in the future ill just pm u and one more question what about the boot sound is it possible to make it work
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
The boot sound is in /system/etc/PowerOn.wav, might be in /system/etc/media
The original one is there and doesnt play when the phone boots and im on touchmiuiwiz is there anything special i should do
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
It only plays if your phone is on ring (not on silent or vibrate)
Yea buy it doesnt play on anything lets say i just flashed over a new rom touchmiuiwiz it has the original poweron.wav already there but it doesnt play do i have to change something for it to play or just replace it
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
It should just play. If the files are there and don't play, then they're probably silent files. Try replacing those files with the sounds from a different rom that you know makes sound.
I tried already they just dont play when its booting but when im in root explorer they play fine theres another thing under the poweron.wav and its poweron.snd does that have something to do with it and btw thank u i got the shutdown animation and shutdown sound working now im stuck on the boot sound

So I'm attempting to create themes for ICBINB with the new tw support on UOT Kitchen, but it seems to keep losing the twframework file everytime. Has anyone else experienced this or even tried it?

Are you talking about it changing the name to framework-res.apk? If so you just rename it back to twframework-res.apk and your good. Just push it to system/framework. Of course that's after you extract it.

I've only been cooking the regular framework-res files, haven't tried a tw file through UOT yet. I've been changing them manually, because there were only a few things I wanted to change
I am so lost with this uot thing. haha. i have been trying for 2 days. I did everything the site said but when I go to recovery and install the zip, nothing happens. I am currenty running the ICBINB rom. If this rom isn't compatible to use the UOT which one is, if any? Or how do I go about changing colors and stuff? I am sorry to post a "noob" question, I really have been trying for days to do it by myself!
Oh forgot to mention, it did change the font. But that is it.
Try manually pushing it to the system instead of flashing it then reboot
dumb question, but what do you mean manually push it? I just want to make sure I do everything right Thanks!

You manually push files by using a root explorer. Copy and paste/overwrite it into the proper folder it's supposed to be into. For instance, pushing an apk would require you to copy it and paste it into /system/app.
oooh! lol so I just take the two framework files and put them on my sd card, then overwrite the ones already therE?
Got it now! Everything is awesome, just didn't change the boot animation, but I can live with that!
Does anyone know how to mod the power off menu like adding reboot recovery and download mode?

i didnt make this or anything, im just simply passing it on! Droid Bionic boot animation...pretty bomb!! i just moved the file to system/media and replaced the current one with file explorer, but every phone (or rom) is different
oh, and if u want the sound file, its http://www.droid-life.com/2011/08/26/download-official-droid-bionic-boot-animation/ there...just couldnt upload the ogg file
This is actually pretty cool! I'm gonna give it a try on CM7.
you aint got a pic?
nevermind i seen it.. looks hot go perfect with my red theme.
I couldn't get it to work on nightly cm7 I'm getting a cannot open file and can't see them on my downloads either .....just reporting thnx

u dont open the file, u place it in the correct folder or adb push it into the correct folder of your phone that handles the boot animations......in CM7 case, u just put the file in system/media folder, where you will see a bootanimation.zip file already, just replace it and reboot!
Thank you : )
So i haven't messed with adb at all and when I try to put in system/media it says installation aborted. I am downloading it to my computer then transferring to system/media because when I download to phone it doesn't show up do you think it could be a file error on the sd card? Thnx in advance
I can't get this sh*t to work at all so imma say cm7 does not work for this boot animation as far as I know. I tried replacing it in system/folder and got nothing Idk what to do.

i have CM7....u need to get an app called "Root Explorer".....that app will allow u to overwrite read-only material and alter them! In this case, u download the animation, u then copy or move the file to system/media, but make sure u click the Read/Write thing otherwise it wont work....then u just reboot
The boot animation looks great. But I would rename your original bootanimation.zip file to bootanimation.old then place it in the directory. Just ing case you are unsatisfied, you can just delete and go back to whatever you had originally. Also does anyone know what I have to rename the sound file to to get it to work properly in the /ui directory ?

to my understanding (although i havent done this), u just keep it as a .ogg file, and in the audio folder, u make a "poweron" folder, and rename the file "poweron.ogg" and put that into the poweron folder.....but i havent done it, so idk if it works
edit: didnt work....idk how to do enable the boot sound

Boot-animation sound? What is the easiest way to Add sound to a custom Boot-animation?
Is it possible to just get a sertin format file and put it in a specific location to get sound on bootanimation?

I tried touch.ogg but i made sure it was same way on my phone and it didn't work wen i reboot. I'm using Darkys ROM and idk if that's what is making it not work.

The bootscreen that i have came with the Rom and has a sound file. i just cant find it. not in media or ui folder. not sure were it is.

I also wanna be able to make the sound to work on any ones phone as well as the boot-animation. So far I know the bootanimation works but the sound has been a problem.

not all animations have sound. u can make a PowerOn.wav
You just need to convert the mp3 file to .wav

Using the absolute system methed I just tryed it with a mp3 and no it didn't work. This is what it looks like
480 800 7
p 1 0 part00
s poweron.ogg
p 1 0 part01
p 1 0 part02
Now I just seen should my sound be s 1 poweron.ogg (mp3)
Or s 0 poweron.ogg if I want it to loop
And I have my actual sound file I'm system/media when sync with absolute system then moved it to system/media/audio/notafacations then install with absolute system in system/media and data/local

I think I have found a fix to our little problem. I have been working on mine for quite some time trying to change boot sound(poweron to be technical) and I have finally found the solution. I had to change the permissions to "rw-r--r--" while in root explorer in order to get it to work. WAHLAH! I have custom boot sound. hope this helps.
I seen your reply and got so happy I went to root explorer and the permissions looked as you sesond pic I changed it to the 3rd pic and it is now rw-r-r and reboot fingers crossed ans silence...

Was anyone ever able to successfully add their own boot animation sounds on the SK4G? I have tried several different methods here and have not gotten any of them to work. I have my custom animation, but would really like to have the custom sound too.
