[APP]Skifta and Neer by Qualcom - HTC Sensation

Skifta is a dlna streaming service. You can either share your Sensation or view media through sensation. You can share to devices with dlna like the PS3.
Neer is a pretty cool app that uses location. You mark that you have to do something at certain location (like grocery store) and the app will remind you to stop by and pick up what you wrote down you needed. Pretty cool agenda app.

[REQ] EVO as DLNA reciever

If such an app already exists, I would appreciate the help tracking it down, but does anyone know if there is a way to use the EVO as a DLNA reciever?
I have a xoom, and it would be kind of cool if i could 'beam' media from it to my EVO connected to my TV. Also, it would make my EVO useful after i upgrade and get a new phone down the line. Maybe it is more complicated than something an app can provide?
Anyway, if anyone knows of a way i could accomplish such a feat, you would become my new hero! <3 !!!!!1!!!1!!!!
Sounds like you'd need an infrared transmitter /receiver...

The best thing I have found is vlc stream and convert but it requires a PC running vlc and it works with hdmiwin. I've been waiting for something that works with ps3 media server, but haven't found anything...

There's a few dlna clients on the market. Search for DLNA client

i could be wrong here, but i think it's a hardware thing.
There are apps to do this on the market place. But the only thing I don't like is that they don't transcode.

I know there are plenty of dlna apps I can use with my computer/Xbox 360 etc, but are there any that function between two android devices?

Stream inspire to pc

How do I stream movies picture or music to my pc or stream my pc's movie music or pics to my Inspire is there a app I need to download like a DLNA app
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
there should already be a app on there for media streaming... to stream movies /pics/music go into your gallery and click media servers and your pc should come up if you have it set to media share
I did something similar using wifi tether mode on my inspire.
I started wifi tether then connected my laptop to it. after chainging my computers media servers settings, ( I use windows media player and a free software called vuze) I was able to acess any music, video, or picture that was on my laptop from my inspire using HTC app Connect media. It mite allso help, I was on a RcMix Kingdom rom. on my inspire.
It dint work perfectally, but it worked after some tweaking.
I woudnt kno iff it would work for "pushing" media.

I use iMediaShare from the market. It works great. I can stream to my pc or my blu-ray player. I'm running Ninja. Cm7 based Roms don't have a dnla app installed by default.

I use TwonkyServer (no longer free, but the older free versions are still out on the web) to stream to my xbox 360. I've never tried my pc, but I'm sure it should work. Twonky shares video, music, and pictures.

Ok. I found am easyer way using Sence. I created an open Adhoc network on my laptop then modded my phone to see and connect to adhoc networks. For some reason it doesn't see them automatically. Set up yrr computer with media servers turned on and u should have access. It works great even as a remote for windows media player!
I allso did some WiFi bridging mods on my laptop for faster adhoc but PM me for that info iff u need help

Any TV players you use / suggest?

I've noticed on any Android phone I used, the ability to stream media over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to any supporting device.
Now, it would be awesome to have a TV device to which I can stream photos, videos and YouTube from my phone through Wi-Fi. Live screenshare would be nice too. Any idea what products are out there? Google searches do not seem to give me what I'm looking for.
Thanks

I have a Samsung phone and TV and I stream photos, movies etc from my phone to the TV via wifi. I use Allshare to do this.
hmm interesting however my Sony Bravia doesn't offer such a feature.
I continued searching and found this, http://www.lg.com/us/tv-accessories/lg-ST600-smart-tv-upgrader
Anyone has experience on it? Or anyone is using anything similar? I'm still scouting for a good yet not so expensive product. If I'm not mistaken I can use this box with my Android.
dlna player app
I have been using the Shareon video.
You can stream all your media from smartphone to DLNA supported TV directly.
Actually, I think it's better than Samsung Allshare Service, bcoz shareon video supports most of manufacturer.:good:

People, I think the point of this was to post "Non- Play Store" apps, as in ones only found on forums on XDA.

I think that the name and target of the thread is not clear enough.
It mentioned specifically "aren't too popular". So... wtf is 'What's up' doing with that?! And most of the rest.
Please only put apps that you found, use and not seen in the first pages on the forum. Do not make this a list with your apps... please!

This. And I mean seriously, how long until these apps hit market? It's the most available platform. A cool app is a cool app on xda or store
But we already have tons of "what's your favorite app" threads. It would be interesting to discover new sous that aren't already on the okay store. But it's whatever. Do as you please everyone.

Aptoide uploader is really nifty. You make yout own private app store for your friends. I liked it over a competitor appsfire.

Nice j dee! I hate it when my youtube shuts off in the gym. Can't leave the screen on and put it back in my pocket
Come on peeps keep em coming. I like the list so far. It's small and precise not large and burgeoning. Let's go over something very relevant: STREAMING from your HD
Jbeans 4.2 Camera- Full Screen Camera (compared to 4.1.2) and gallery you could flash for your 4.1.2 phone
Mediahouse Player- An organized app that collects all the shared music videos off of shared directories on your computer use in conjunction with. Allows you to favorite directories/devices. Really neat app
mx player- easy ui can easily disable/enable hardware software encoding for audio and video during play
v player- like mxplayer, could be better with UI, but unlike MX player allows you to set buffer to a whopping 8mb...so longer initial load for video but plays back perfectly otherwise
ES file explorer- save network drives
I usually make the default player for ES v player and for media house mx player. Good setup. Mx Player allows you to manage defaults for video players in-app too. Another neat feature. Well worth the money for that app.
From the computer end there are a lot of options to stream (I made a post about this a while back...search on me) but I like PS3 Media server 1.70.1 for my PS3. It allows for real-time transcoding for devices where your video format (ie mkv) isn't available. I also install TVersity server on my computer end and both servers as well as the raw files allow me to wirelessly stream every tv show except for planet earth which has a ridiculous bitrate.
Only other thing to worry about on the computer end is to make sure your sharing settings etc are set up as openly as possible. I have a homegroup password and everyone in it is allowed to at least read my directories
Hey zetsui,
sure, I love my HOX and GNEX phones (by now even more than my PC) and why not participate in sharing cool underdog apps?
Is that Mediahouse player the one you can download from the Play Store? Sounds pretty usable to me

Mi sound recorder
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28295194
Way better than stock audio recorder. Can record as mp3 at 128kbit/s, good enough for me. Of course, you can increase it. Can record as ogg too.
Solid explorer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer
Might be popular, but worth a mention anyway. Fast, free, full of useful features, no ads... Did I mention the slick ui?
Cpu adjuster
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryosoftware.cputweaks
Like setcpu, but free. You can have 3 profiles in the free version. Ought to be good enough for beginners.
Also worth checking out: servers ultimate.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icecoldapps.serversultimate
These apps are in xda too, but play store linking is more convenient.
Advanced Touchpad Remote Control
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arcoid.advancedtouchpad&hl=en
Turns the phone's screen into a multitouch touchpad.
Perfect for Laptops with short HDMI cables.

Hi mentio,
I've spent a lot of time looking myself, I searched "airplay site:forum.xda-developers.com" and everyone gives an answer but not the one you and I are looking for. There's also nothing in the wiki for airplay.
In the forums, all answers are, use an media player app that sends that apps audio to airplay. What I'm after and what I think you're after is the ability to root the whole devices audio through Airplay. The sames as when you use Bluetooth.
I really can not find a solution to this problem, if it exists yet, does anyone know anything more comprehensive about airplay?
I'm an android stuck in an apple family
Thanks for any help in advanced guys and gals!
