Asphalt works great until I press break and turn at same time I get a force close really annoying any ideas?

Are you overclocked, either CPU or GPU? I was running the OC'd GPU kernel and had my CPU OC'd as well thinking that would be best. Asphalt did not like it so I installed the standard GPU kernel and turned the CPU down to near stock and it was much more stable. That game was fun for awhile, but once the career is finished it looses some interest.

Hi people. Im new to forums in general so try to use small words lol.
Can someone explain whats the reason behind overclocking a phone?? Ive underclocked my galaxy s down to 800mhz to save battery and you only notice when i have a few apps running which i never do anyway. Im not dissing anyone who does, id just like to know.
If theres a guide covering it ive missed please post it and ill read up

Unfortunately it is impossible поницить frequency of the processor
Speed increase.
It is useful for applications the require more grunt.
If you want to understand it use psx4droid to play a game at 1.2GHz then at 800MHz

I like everything to be snappy on my phone. Overclocking my desire from 1ghz to 1.25 makes it cruise!
I think the SGS is fast enough and you can play all the games available without lags. So overclocking is just for fun, but in normal use you don't see any difference.
how fast do you want your phone?
I overclock to 1.3ghz on my epic 4g when I use emulators and when I am not far from a charger but other than that I generally scale down to 800mhz

I have the HTC Aria, a little 3.2" Android powerhouse, dev-friendly device severely throttled by it's 600mHz processor. So I overclock it, and this little beast lives up to it's potential. It's like having a superphone in a small size. That's why overclock.

Got my Nexus One @ 1113, but really it's just force of habit. Trying to eke out a little extra performance and all that. Can't say i've noticed any difference though!
Overclocking my ZTE Blade to 729mhz (600mhz stock) can play most of HD games (...Gameloft's especially) without lagging......
I think overclocking is only for gaming purposes ... ♫
▲▼▲Overclocking → The worst battery killer▲▼▲
I have a feeling most phone overclockers are getting a placebo effect.
If you were to hand them a phone and tell them it was 800mhz, they'd feel like it was slower than if you handed the same phone (unchanged) and tell them it was 1.2ghz.
Mobile phone companies configure thier devices for maximum age. However overclockers push limits beyond stock. With right procedures, you get upto 50% speed boost resulting stunning output. Just your cell phone will die early :/. But not that soon. I am using DHD. Overclocked to 1.53ghz ( stock 1024mhz ). Rest, you can reckon.

Anyone have any suggestions for the best kernel that runs 3D games smoothly? Mainly gameloft games
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
If I had to guess, it would be Imoseyon's leanKernel 1.92X.
None. No kernel will speed up the GPU from what it runs stock.
Gameloft games run fine for me. You having problems?
I really dont think Kernel will do anything for gaming. Kernel's just control the cpu speeds and more geared for improving the battery. Anything over 1.4ghz has shown to be pointless on the thunderbolt according to the tests. I haven't had any problem with any of the games even at 1ghz.
I was using 1.92x leankernel except i noticed that some apps wud sort of lag more than my other kernel

i use either drodspeed or adrynalyne. But your best shot is to test around with different kernels and see which runs best on your device
Hello everyone. Ok so everytime i try doing a benchmark test with Antutu my phone reboots or freezes. But it only does this when im [email protected] 1.55ghz. Anything under 1.55, like 1.4ghz for example, it runs and does the bechmark test just fine.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
BTW i'm currently running CM7 Nightly124 with Faux123v0.4.1 kernel and using SETCPU as my OC/UV app.
Sorry in advanced if this question has already come up many times...but i just couldn't find any threads referring to this same problem.
Its not the benchmark that is the problem...

Hmmm..then what could it be? Cos I run quadrant at full 1.55ghz and it runs pretty smooth
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk
its the phone. Quadrant is not a multi threaded app so it does not use both cpus on the phone. I do belivie Antutu is so you are stressing the cpu more with Antutu then you are with quad. My phone does the same thing. Not every phone is the same so your chip might not be able to do 1.5ghz safely where someone elses can. If 1.4ghz runs fine that is your max.

Thanks i kinda figured that. Although i'm now running Eaglesblood 2.3.5 with Trinity15 Kernel. I am now able to run the Antutu test with [email protected] 1.56 without any problems and smoothly too. Hmmmm
Voltages might be different for each cpu speed scaling between the two kernels, which might make one more aggressive than the other at a particular speed.

Hi Guys I have a Galaxy S 4G I have noticed that max stable overlclock is 1.508Ghz If I bump up to 1.516Ghz It is stable but at watching videos for a long time it crashes, I have noticed that the normal max temp is below 60 C or 55 C, that's stress testing for long time, normal everyday is 41~43 or, I Think It can go higher but I t would need 1500mV or 1600mV core Voltage also to achieve 1.6, 1.7 or 1.8 even 2.0Ghz It takes 1600mV or 1800mV, temps would be 45~47 normal, and above 60~65 on stress testing. But tegrak doesn't support these volatges, It would need to tweak the code. With proper cooling temps can go down to 33 or 30, lets say using the phone in a cool room.
Do you know when are they gonna support higher core voltages(Tegrak OC)?
Do you really need to oc that high?

At 1.5 is goood but for proper PC like performance it would be a bit higher.
2.0ghz would beat samsung sgs2
I know anything higher than 2.0Ghz the phone would suffer, I don't know if the main board can support 2.5Ghz or 3.0Ghz. The battery doesn't handle that much power not even 3500mah battery
Mine runs stable and quite cool @ 1.62 and I get 4128 quad score, but I have no need to oc the phone with all the tweaks.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Thanks I'm gonna try out your setup, but that's the highest it can go?
I get a max of 2300+ because I have no tweaks and I am at Stock 2.3.5 UVUKJ3
I really don't see the need for oc other than for playing a REALLY graphical intensive game. For me, I get a better performance boost from the tweaks incorporated into roms than oc. I tried running a 1.5 for a week and I honestly didn't even notice a difference other than less battery life.

Well I notice a difference but anything above 2.0 GHz it is nearly impposible, even if it is gotten above that it would not match new dual and quad Core CPU because they have a different architecture but the battery is the first thing that you notice but the things that I do on the phone require much more processing power than stock. Well the highest is 1.6ish that I think the phone has been able to handle. But definitely overclocking the phone will get you up to speed work new games coming out

When we get source for GB or ics then I can write scripts to tweak the voltages higher for a higher oc, I have been waiting for that lol

Your phone runs quite cool?? Mine gets warm to the touch around the speaker after playing angry birds for 20mins
So I've been playing with some kernels and have been deciding between stock and checkm8. One thing that I noticed tho is that you can force all cores at 2.3ghz, but after about 50% load it automatically drops to 2ghz. And at 100% cpu load it drops again at 1.5ghz. is there anyway to stop this so it runs at 2.3 even at 100% load until a certain temp?
I noticed this on both stock and checkm8
What game are you trying to run that would need all cores at 100% so it doesn't lag?

Benches and such... Like I just don't want the cpu and gpu to throttle to a lower frequency just because of high load. I only want that to happen because of temps.
