Hi,
I installed Installing S-off, ClockWork accroding this tread as preparation to ROOT my device. Actually i did not ROOT it.
Today i downloaded new OTA Android 2.3.4, backup and prepare to install. After reset installation process started but never finished. progress bar disappeared and only little green android body and warning sign in triangle stayed for for long time and nothing to happens.
I am not know about install something else to my device except Revolutionary.io mentioned in tread.
I can ONLY finish this state only by get off battery. :-( so i cant instal new Android 2.3.4 to my device.
Any hints how to install? or how to continue.
thanx so much,
Ondrej
Hi
I had exactly the same problem as you.
The simplest solution is to go back S-ON
Put on the update and then go back to S-Off
Simples
(BTW: If I am wrong then please let me know just don't be too angry )

hmm, truly believe that other solution is possible redo to S-ON is like way to Mordor, insurmountable...
but thanx so much for hint! i try to place our problem to tread in my question

I'm not sure if You can go back to S-ON if the mobile stops at boot and ther's no recovery installed yet.
@roul174: as far as I read Your post: You did a nandroid backup ? Or what kind of backup ? Can You start into recovery by pressing volume-down when switching on ? If so, can You restore Your backup ?

If you use this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 - it details going back to S-ON (I used it and it really is n00b proof)
And then it's dead easy to go back

Hi thomas,
I did NaNdroid backup by revolutionary HBoot.
Fortunately, after get back battery and turn on, device started normally with no damage!
Yap i can start into HBOOT by volume down and sw. on. ;-)
and lastly i do not need to restore anything, thank the Lord!!
O.
It's good to have a backup already
And now Your mobile still shows 2.3.3 and if You try to update You get the message that there's no update available ? (would be the same as I'd got after going back to stock rom even if this version was much older)
update is @ my SDcard, version is sill 2.3.3

my opinion is to better ask Revolutionary producers to help with this... it should doesn't matter if there is Revolutionary or stock HBoot in device. this could happens any time new OTA will be dispatched, so solution to redo to SON and smth, and smth and roll back to stock ROM and ... no... there should some more elegant solution.
O.
Try to ask them, but maybe the only thing for You to do is to be patient...
After setting my mobile back to stock rom (VF RUU including HBOOT and Radio), and even after switching back to S-ON, I coudn't catch the update to 1.35.xxx in the next our.
But I choosed not to wait any longer. The only reason for me to do this was to try, if going back to stock rom (for repair or replacement) was possible. My problem to catch the update again was the old radio, which was installed by 1.27.xxx stock rom. So I updated the radio manually and installed InsertCoin again...
As long as the bootloader is working, you can always install ClockworkMod recovery through PG58IMG.zip method and install any custom ROM you like. You don't require a working system - or any system at all - for that. You can also install a stock ROM using the 'fastboot oem rebootRUU' method from the bootloader. There's never really any reason to go back to S-ON except for warranty.

Yesterday the same happened to me - HTC Sensation branded by T-Mobile Czech. I did S-Off, installed ClockWork, rooted phone and debranded. OTA update to 2.3.4 ended as you describe.
What helped me was installation of stock ROM 1.35.401.1 and then do OTA update. This time instalation was OK and bootloader says '*** LOCKED ***' and S-OFF. I did not try to install clockwork again.

okay, my problem is, that I am afraid about loose data. did you backed up you phone? if yes how. and next think is how did you choose right version of stock ROM for you device?
Thanx for advice,
O.
Once you install ClockworkMod recovery, the OTA updates won't work. You need to go back to stock recovery and OTA updates should work fine.

than direct i process to do S-On without Super CID.
in the process of S-On again my phone is gone Blanck not anything happen in my phone... no fastboot noting ihad try many tymes battery out and in but nothing...
Please please....
If your talking about the Over The Air update from T Mobile for 2.3.4 you cant receive updates from T Mobile once you have S off Tis the point of having S Off Just find yourself a sweet rom to download and use that the devlopers will update your rom way better than T Mobile ever will
sorry to hear about your luck. never tried turning s-on. but i thought i remember reading that it's way more dangerous to do that then it is to get s-off. you're likely sol. try posting this in q & a, you might get more help and the answers you need there. good luck
You can STILL get OTA with S-OFF. I did and many others here did too. You cannot get OTA with root. Root and S-OFF are very different things.
I would take this to the Q/A section, as people there jump for things like this. Get your USB cable ready and your thanks button prepared!
Matt
I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago and got some good advice however I failed to get a solution to my problem.
3 weeks ago I unlocked the bootloader on my HTC one x and flashed clockwork recovery. I then attempted to Install a .zip file through clockwork recovery, something went wrong and I now couldnt get past the HTC screen when I booted my phone. So I restarted it and after a few hours of trying to find a solution I thought I would just wipe the SD card, not knowing that this would royaly **** up my phone I went ahead and wiped it. I then posted this thread
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25571852#post25571852)
and I took the advice of post someone made, this is it.
Download a rom update utility (ruu) from
Forum. Flash stock recovery (you can find in modacos thread. ) Relock bootloader using fastboot oem lock. Start ruu and follow the directions. You can unlock bootloader again later.
I done all this up to the RUU, I flashed stock, I relocked but whenever I start the RUU I get the message "the ROM update Utility cannot update your android phone please get the correct ROM Update utility and try again". I have tried the following RUU's.
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.26.401.2_Radio_ 1.1204.90.13_release_251208_signed
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_Vodafone_UK_1.26.161.2_Radio _1.1204.90.13_release_251227_signed
and
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_ARA_1.28.415.9_Radio_1.1 204.103.14_release_25679_signed
Im not sure if this matters but im on Vodafone UK.
I Sent the Phone back to HTC and they came back with a quote of £196 which I was not willing to pay so I told them to send it back. I should be getting the phone back sometime this week. I really need to fix it myself as I cant afford nearly 200 quid.
Any ideas would be so helpful, I hate not having a phone.
Have you tried out if its possible to only use the Rom.ZIP File it is some where in a temp on your hardrive.
Sent from my Sensation using XDA

Moving to Q&A
I rooted my HTC Desire S after downgrading it's HBOOT from 2.00 to 1.47 something. I was not satisfied by using customised ROMs with lots of bugs so I flashed stock ROM HTC Saga Asia India and then updated it by mistake or you can say foolishly. Now my phone is not booting and it is stopped on logo screen. I tried to use recovery but it just wiped data and and reboots when I select Install Zip from sd card.
Any fix for this? I have to go to HTC care center or it can be sorted out at home? Thanks in advance.
hi,
i thing you have been flashed wrong RUU, or your procedure is wrong,
have you know your phone's cid
post here your phone's cid, anyone suggest you which ruu file you have to flash.
If you could explain properly and in proper readable font, what steps exactly did you perform to reach this phone state - people would help. As it is, my eyes hurt from looking at your post, I only see huge letters and can't read anything out of them.
it's same case with me..
and now i need some help too
