So, I'm the (un)lucky owner of a Vodafone branded HTC Trophy. I installed the latest HTC update which landed me on SPL version 1.22.2250.
I figured I want to install this version of Mango since I'll be able to to the rest of the updates trough Zune.
I don't know if I'll be needing to unbrand this device or not, I only know that if I run the proper RUU tool against my RGB screen (boot loader?!) it comes out with error 266 and leaves my phone hanging. I then need to reboot my device by pulling out the battery.
I was fairly advanced with Android's ROM way, and by means are not a stupid person. I googled quite a lot and read through most topics in this sub forum but it doesn't make sense yet.
What I'll be needing: A foolproof way to get to the latest Mango version. I don't care whats in between and are willing to take moderate risk such as flashing HSPL. There are so many ways and terms here I simply don't have the time to figure it all out. Time is money and since I'll hopefully be sparing out a few hours with this way I offer the lucky winner of writing me a fool proof step of plans $10 on paypal.
Also, bare with me. English isn't my native language.

You can contact me in dutch and i might be able to help you out.
Though i have samsung device.
What version are you running? Did you try to upgrade to Mango beta? are you dev-unlocked?
If you are on NoDo and unlocked, make sure you install provxml deployer and run it before upgrading to mango.
Try installing the zune beta and all the files, than do the upgrade, now run the htc connection setup (this will execute some files which will fully unlock your device). After you did this, make sure to run provxmldeployer again, this will place the same files back, you will need these after the second update to mango b2.
This is what I did to get the same ROM.
I had the 1.22.2250 SPL as well, but then I thought to myself that I don't need useless vodafone apps on my phone, I just need OEM apps because they are more useful than a shortcut to vodafone 360.
So, here's what I did:
1. Go here and download the appropriate ROM for your Trophy. You must get 7004/7008 version. You should download the appropriate ROM that matches the characteristic value of your phone. The ROMs in this thread are all branded, but flashing this ROM will downgrade your OS version and SPL version to 1.09 or 1.10 so you can HSPL later.
After the ROM has been downloaded, extract the zip file somewhere easy to find (eg. desktop).
[Step 2 will erase everything on your phone]
2. Connect the phone by holding down volume down key and connect it via USB. Wait until appropriate drivers are installed. Flash the ROM you downloaded from step 1. This should take less than 10 minutes. After flashing, Trophy will restart and boot to normal. Turn it off. Your phone is still branded in this step.
3. After flashing, download DFT's RSPL/HSPL here and be sure to get the second version. Extract the files somewhere easy to find (eg. desktop). This tool will let you install customized ROMs/unbranded ROMs on your device. Therefore if you replace your SPL with HSPL, you will be able to install the unbranded Mango ROM.
4. Hold down volume down key on the Trophy, and connect it via USB. Trophy will go straight to bootloader state, and run the DFT_RSPL_WP7FG2_LAUNCH exe file . Select the nearest version of SPL shown on your Trophy, and click install. If Trophy reboots, flash was successful, if not, try again until you get RSPL.
5. After RSPL, do step 4 again, but this time, run DFT_HSPL_WP7FG2_LAUNCH and install HSPL, not OSPL. After HSPL, Trophy will reboot. If Trophy successfully boots to Windows Phone, then you have done it right.
7. Go here and download your ROM for Trophy which is RUU_Spark_S_HTC_Europe_4.06.401.00_5.69.09_RELEASE.exe. This is the unbranded ROM which will remove carrier (vodafone) apps.
8. Turn off Trophy and connect it by holding down volume down key and connect via USB so it goes straight to bootloader state, unzip the ROM downloaded from step 7 using winrar or winzip.
9. Open the extracted folder and delete SPL_signed.nbh as this will overwrite your current SPL and will brick your Trophy.
10. Run the rom update utility and happy flashing! Trophy should restart after flashing.
So there you have it. After setting up your Live account, you must go to the marketplace and download HTC Connection Setup and run it. This will configure your carrier settings (3G/HSDPA, MMS) to your phone since this Mango ROM is unbranded and does not carry and customization by your carrier (vodafone).
Cool. Now trying the method from downloaderintruder
Edit: Seems to be working. Flashing final Mango ROM now, will report back when running.
Edit2: Done!
Fantastic - thank you.
I've been trying to do this for a week but to no success

Resolved this by changing from a USB 3 port to a USB 2 port? Weird but it worked...
Do i need Y usb cable to do this? Because i`ve tried this with standard usb cable from htc and my Trophy stucked in "USB host mode" screen.
I don`t have that Y cable, and i was looking for solution to debrand phone without Y, and i`ve found this thread, wheres no word about Y cable but now i don`t know
--------------------------------------------------
Ive found solution:
Instead of pressing volume button and connecting it to usb, i`ve holded volume rocker down, and hit the on/off button, when tricolor screen appeared i`ve released volume button and THEN connected my phone to my PC via USB

ijust do this. All ok!!
but i have a question. If i want to bo back to 7004/7008 version from Vodafone, do i have to delete again spl_signed??
Its the trophy unbranded totally??
Its because you say to install hpsl and then to delete sppl:signned, and i dont know if i have to delete spl_signned in all roms from this point.
thanks, sorry for my English, i speak spanish

If you want to go back, you will need to get the 7004/7008 version of the ROM with 401 CV. Check out ansars ROM in the Trophy forum and download that. Go to the bootloader state, and flash it straight to your phone, this will downgrade from 7720 to 7004/7008 (unbranded).
To go back to branded, first you must HSPL your device after downgrading, then download the original ROM for your trophy and flash it. You don't have to delete spl_signed file, you only had to delete this in the mango rom because it will brick the device since the spl version from mango had a huge leap from spl1 to spl4.
Be aware though, some Trophy users who flashed ansars ROMs didn't get past 7008 to get the PreNodo/Nodo update, so you can't use your backup at this time. I'm still looking for a solution on this, but since I don't really like branded phones I'm all good with my Trophy.

Updates will still go through via Zune.
For the problem regarding how to go back to your backup, here's a theory, IF there will be mango ROMs for our trophies like there's Nodo, we can install that ROM and restore our backup via Zune. That is, IF there will be Mango roms for our trophies with matching CV's.
Now I have the error code c101b001 in the marketplace.
Do you know why?

os version: 7.0.7389.0
radio: 5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U
bootloader: 1.20.2250.0(117833)
Updating my Spark now by GoldCard method (Vodafone NL)...
...updated fine. Installing Apps now.
Excuse my ignorance, but will unbranding what was originally a Vodafone handset affect my ability to get further updates incrementally (like 7008) without having to reflash an entire ROM?
Thanks,
Niall

Shouldn't do.
Hi,
can you tell me, if chevron is running?
What about other apps?
Andy
Worked fine for me : French Vodafone with goldcard trick!
Can you please tell if the flash is working with Chevron to unlock? And the second thing, will be to apply update from Microsoft to this ROM or will need to re-flash? Thank you.
It worked fine for me.
First flash with WP7.
Just booted to bootloader. Hold vol down, when turned off and press on button once.
Then just plug in the usb and run this file. No prob. Just like the WM6 days.
Cant unlock with chevron, not sure if its the Nodo or Chevron, in my case though. I have unlocked before, and done all the tricks on a fresh install. No luck, so i guess its not unlockable for now. Some guy is working on a wifi transfer, which forces the phone to think its from marketplace and therefore okay. Been told release is 25 March, so we can just wait.
chevron DO NOT work on NoDo updated roms...
Thanks.
I managed to flash this rom via goldcard method.
It does run faster. And copy/paste is a beast.
but, is it just me or the signal quality drops after flashing this rom?
havent had any problems with the signal. Phone works great.
Yeah it works great, but impossible to unlock!
I try to restore this rom ... I did:
turn of phone
hold down button and press ON once
I'm in 3 color mode
Plug in USB, USB is recognized on phone
run the .EXE file
But the RUU update says that my phone is not recognized ... It get 260: Connection Error
The usb is working on Zune, so that is no problem
Suggestions ?

i dont think so. There is missing tag (for Verizon) in the name of file (RUU).
Dear forum members,
In the following A, B, C and D sections is described the flashing process
of the NoDo unbranded ROM: RUU_Spark_Vodafone_DE_1.20.401.00_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U_NoDo
A. Pre-Requisites
If your Trophy 7 is flashed with a ROM of the following releases:
1. RUU_Spark_Vodafone_DE_1.09.162.00_Radio_5.50.09.15_22.23.50.09U
2. RUU_Spark_Vodafone_DE_1.10.162.06_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
then you can flash the following NoDo unbranded ROM and when you like you can comeback to your previous ROM
In case your Trophy 7 is flashed with a different of the above 1, 2 ROMs but your Firmware version at your phone settings>about>more information
is of the form xxxx.yy.zzzzz.162 i.e. with characteristic value 162
then you can also flash the following NoDo unbranded ROM, but you can comeback only to one of the above 1, 2 ROMs
B. Downloading
You must download the following 2 ROMs:
1. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Spark_Vodafone_DE_1.20.401.00_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U_NoDo_by_ansar
2. Download this zip ROM file: RUU_Spark_Vodafone_DE_1.20.401.00_Radio_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U_NoDo_Signed_by_ansar
Extract the downloaded zip ROM files with an unzip / 7zip utility in separate folders of your choice
C. Flashing Process
In order to successfully flash the provided ROMs you must follow these steps:
1. Flash the ROM of the above (B.1.) extracted zip ROM file
2. After flashing Trophy 7 will remain at about 90% - 98%, ignore it
3. Hold the Power Button untill Trophy 7 will power off and enter to the bootloader mode
4. In the screen of your computer the ROMUpdateUtility will report a flashing ERROR
5. Ignore it and exit from ROMUpdateUtility
6. Now flash the ROM of the above (B.2.) extracted zip ROM file
7. After flashing your Trophy 7 will boot normally
8. Exit from ROMUpdateUtility and proceed with your brand new ROM
If you do not want them you can delete all operator apps, in order to have more free RAM
Beware, in WP7 deleting an application means it is deleted from ROM
D. ROM Flashing Instructions
In order to flash a ROM follow these steps:
1. Press and hold power-on/off button to power-off the phone
2. Press and hold volume-down button and then press power-on/off button to enter bootloader mode
3. When your phone enters the tricolor screen bootloader mode, release volume-down button
4. Connect your phone to your windows 7/vista/xp pc/laptop with a usb cable
5. Verify that your phone will be identified and relevant drivers will be installed by windows os of your pc/laptop
6. After completion of (D.5.) above, check the usb message connection on your phone screen
7. To flash the ROM go to your pc/laptop folder where the downloaded zip ROM file is extracted
8. Double click on the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and strictly follow the instructions on your pc/laptop screen
Till next version enjoy!!!

Unfortunately links are dead.
Also I have few questions for you, but I will not make another thread because they are related to this topic.
I unbranded my phone with your files, unlocked it and get NODO update via Zune. My current firmware version is 2250.09.10908.401 and my radio is 5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U.
1. As far as I understand I still have to update with Vodafone DE (162) files and I can not use HTC Europe (401) files. Right?
2. Is there any chance to update just radio because now I have unlocked Trophy with NODO, and if I put this ROM I will not be able to unlock it.

I really cannot remember what was my initial firmware version. It had red Vodafone theme and Vodafone logo on boot. I guess it had 162 in version, since I downloaded and flashed those two files:
RUU_Spark_Vodafone_DE_1.09.401.08_Radio_5.51.09.06_22.23.50.09U_Signed_by_ansar.zip
RUU_Spark_Vodafone_DE_1.10.162.06_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U_Signed_by_ansar.zip
Since then my default theme is green and I only have HTC logo on boot. Thank you for that!
Then I unlocked it, installed February update, and then March update. Now I have NODO, and can use Native keyboard, and upload my own ringtones.
The only issue I have at the moment is older radio version then in your new files.
Hi,
You had Vodafone_DE and unbranded to HTC_Europe
The new files in post #1 are of NoDo 7389 and newest HTC OEM 1.20.401 Europe and radio 5.54.09.21
After flashing you will also upgrade MS NoDo with zune to 7390 and retaining newest OEM and radio

I used two files I mentioned in one of previous posts and successfully removed all Vodafone specific features (logo, theme, default webpage...).
It is same with those two files from this post. Only difference is that you will get newer Firmware, OS and Radio.
You can safely flash branded ROM later if you decide that you still want Vodafone specific things.
Ansar posted both branded and unbranded ROMs, so you can decide what you want and switch them at any time.
Please keep in mind that you will lost all your data when you flash ROM, so you should backup with Zune before this.
Now I have some questions for you:
1. Do you need Vodafone specific things or not?
2. Do you need unlocked WP7 or not?
If you do not know what unlocked means, that means that your phone report itself as developer device and you can install anything you want in your phone. Many people think that unlocking is all about how to get illegal stuff, and that is not always true. I need some applications from this forum that are not available at marketplace (Native keyboard for example).
If you need unlocked WP7 then I have two more questions:
3. What is more important to you to have latest Firmware or unlocked phone?
4. What is more important to you to have easy NODO update, or to have unlocked phone?
I need those answers to give you advice what you should do.
Thx my trophy is still unlocked unbranded with a europe Rom and updated to nodo ;-) just wanted to know why IT is called "unbranded" altough its a Vodafone one...

It's call unbranded because you will get clean OS with no brand specific stuff in it (logo, default webpage...).
If you still have Vodafone logo and your current firmware version ends with 162 and not 401, that means that something is wrong there and that you have BRANDED ROM.
If you simply asking why your CID is still same, and why you need to use specific ROMs for Vodafone DE phones, that's because flashing utility checks your CID, and your CID is still same as it was when you got your phone.
If you want to change your CID you have another method for that, but you need one more phone (with removable memory card) and another cable (Gold card method).
I like ansar's ROMs more because you can get clean OS using just a cable that you got with your phone, and that is all you need. You can also revert to branded ROM at any time (I do not want this, but it is still nice to know that).
It is more important to me to have unlocked phone, than to have latest firmware, but having latest radio is nice , so last time I flashed my phone with those two files:
1. RUU_Spark_Vodafone_DE_1.09.401.08_Radio_5.51.09.06 _22.23.50.09U_Signed_by_ansar.zip
2. RUU_Spark_Vodafone_DE_1.20.401.00_Radio_5.54.09.21 _22.33b.50.10U_NoDo_Signed_by_ansar
As you can see first file is from older ansar's post (with 7004 OS), and second file from this post (5.54 radio).
I unlocked my phone, installed patch to prevent re-lock, updated to 7008 and then updated to NODO.
Now I have:
OS: 7.0.7390.0
Firmware: 2550.09.10908.401
Radio: 5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U
UNLOCKED
Disadvantages of this method is that you will have to update two times, and you will need to use a trick from this forum to get NODO.
If you use files from ansar's first post in this thread, you will get NODO pre-release, and you will be notified about NODO update immediately, so you will have to update only once. You will also have latest firmware 12000.
Unfortunately you cannot unlock your phone then (for now).

That was needed to get Nodo earlier, but not anymore.
Nodo is officially rolled out, and an update after that.
Just update your phone over Zune. Let me know if you have any problems.

If you used the official update route your phone must have been relocked during the update to 7740 hence you have no ability to side load apps. Roll back to the previous 7720 version through Zune and stick with that if the phone was Interop unlocked, if it works.
If your bootloader has changed to version 5******* theres not a lot you can do yet to unlock your device, apart from the Goldcard method.

I thought that the newest zune doesn't backup the complete device any more... is this true? is it possible to go back to 7220 without hard resetting your device?
very strange...
in the morning tried to downgrade to 7720, but unsuccessful. after few hours tried again, but it seems that my phone is half-bricked...
anyway, connect the phone to pc, zune started and i see "restore"!... right, i can restore to 7720 and now my apps works!
tried now to update to 7740 offline, but the same situation: can't use apps!... tried to interop-unlock in 7720 with htcinteropunlock.xap, but can't find in connection setup "interop unlock".
please help me, because i really need to update to 7740 because of outlook forward message update and also because i need to use these apps (navigon is one of them).
it is possible to have a 7740 phone with interop-unlock?
thx.
You might be lucky and stay unlocked by updating from the restored version of 7720 to 7740 by trying one of these methods:
While running your unlocked 7720 install the attached Advanced Configuration 1.5 .xap swipe the screen and go to 'Tweaks' and make sure the box 'Prevent phone from relocking' is ticked. Now run the 7740 update and see if that keeps it unlocked.
If the above doesn't work go back to the 7720 backup and install U2M7720 V1.2 and follow the instructions below before running the 7740 update.
Select U2B2, complete provxml and tap on done
Finally just tap on Chevron Unlock (will exit U2M7720)
DO NOT RUN Connection Setup now
Update to 7740
NOW run Connection Setup
Let me know if either of these methods work for you, and could you please let me know which bootloader version you have on the 7720 and 7740 ROM versions, I know you have already updated and it could be the same for both now.
The bootloader version is found by powering off then powering back on while holding the volume down button in. To get out of bootloader mode hold the power button down for a few seconds until the phone turns off then power it back on.
first method not work.
try now the second. which version of connection setup must be installed?
just tried: it seems that even this method failed. connection setup don't start and the other apps don't work.
i will try again to restore and install connection setup from marketplace.
spl - 5.10.2250.6 (132274) mng
update: still locked...
It'll be the 5.10.2250.6 bootloader that's keeping the phone locked, there is no easy work around for it that I'm aware of, unless you flash back to a manufacturers ROM using the Gold card method then install a custom 7740 ROM using RSPL/HSPL.
it's very strange because on saturday morning my phone wasn't half-bricked, but when tried to flash an other rom it appears that is bricked...
and why when restore to 7720 everything working?!?!
That'll be the bootloader version causing those issues.

I had a similar issue a few months ago and I was able to flash back to my phone's original firmware which downgraded the bootloader back to v1.07.
I'm guessing most of the half brick situations are caused by incorrect firmware being loaded when flashing back to an older version.
You may need to identify your CID and operator for your phone.
Instructons and links below:
----I haven't tested this with the verizon version of the handsets as I don't own one of those handsets. You may want to check the forum for any bricking related issues with those handsets & Flashing firmware will reset your phone's settings including contact links, message threads and saved game progress etc...----
Identify your phone's original firmware type (CID and Operator)
Flash with the corresponding firmware
Reinstall HSPL/RSPL from DFT Team
Now you may flash the required firmware such as DFT, custom builds etc...

Do you have it developer unlocked first?
HTC Have 2 OEM Update after Mango
if you updated your Phone with Second OEM Update, you can not Interop Unlock your phone
yes i have a dev account from app hub.
how do i find out if im running second oem? do you have the build number handy? the os version i have is 7.10.7720.68
It's not the OS build number, people. HTC controls the firmware number, not the OS number (that's Microsoft code). 7720.68 just means the RTM release of Mango. I swear, I write this so often...
If the third digit grouping of your firmware starts with 4 - that is, if your firmware version matches *.*.4XXXX.* - or lower, you can use the HTC Interop Unlock XAP. It *might* even be possible with *.*.50XXX.*, but I don't think so, and it certainly isn't possible with *.*.51XXX.* or newer.
well that helps a lot, ya my firmware shows 51004. so are there any workarounds as of yet?
The only work-around I know of is to downgrade. You can roll back a Zune restore point from before the firmware update(s) was installed, interop-unlock, and then reinstall the updates if you want (I've elected to semi-permanently keep my phone a few versions outdated on firmware). You could also flash a stock ROM that includes an older firmware. Be aware, however, that either option will lose some data - everything newer than the backup if you restore, everything on the phone if you flash a stock ROM.

Hey thanks for the information, I was wondering if there were any guides you can point me to on how to flash from a stock ROM. I have an HTC HD7.
Thanks again for your help. i know sometimes its tiring explaining the same thing over and over, but it is much appreciated.
Go to the HD7 ("Schubert") portion of the XDA-Devs wiki (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki). I'm pretty sure you can find the download links for stock ROMs there. You could also try the HD7-specific forum section. You'll download a tool called a RUU (ROM Update Utility) that will have some image files (extensions like .NBH and .NB) along with it. You put the phone in bootloader mode (four bars of different color - you have to boot the phone while holding the Volume Down button). It should have yellow text, and at the bottom should say "Serial". Connect the phone to USB. Your PC will need to install a driver (normally this will happen automatically, if not, use Device Manager to tell the computer to search Windows Update for the driver). Once the driver is installed, the "Serial" will be replaced by "USB". You can now run the RUU program.
I *strongly* recommend creating a backup first! The RUU will wipe all data on the phone, and if the flash fails for whatever reason, you'll be unable to boot the phone again.
Ok Thanks, That was helpful. i read a few guides and I think Im ready to try. i just wanted to ask a quick question before diving in. Hope you dont mind. Some threads make refrences to certain Bootloaders being unable to go through the downgrade process (by flashing a Stock Rom). Is this correct? My bootloader version is:
5.10.2250.0(132968)
If it doesnt matter than are there any other things that would prevent me from doing this process?
And one more question and I promise to leave you alone lol. I plan on backing up my phone before beginning, but if the flash fails for whatever reason and the phone is unable to boot again as you warned, will I still be able to connect it to Zune and restore my backup? Thanks again. Hopefullyone day I can give more to the community once I get used to it.
Booting the phone while holding the Camera button will put it in backup/restore mode. If you connect the phone to the PC while it is in this mode, and the Zune software is running, it should automaticlaly try to restore.
Your bootloader (SPL) version is too high to install HSPL (needed for custom ROMs), and it's high enough that it won't automatically downgrade just by installing a stock ROM. However, you should be able to install the other parts of a stock ROM (in particular, the firmware) just fine.
If needed, there are a couple ways to downgrade the SPL; search the dev&hacking sub-forum for info. I would generally recommend GoldCard, but that will require a little bit of equipment. Apparently, "SLSPL" flashing will allow you to downgrade the SPL safely as well, though I haven't tried it. These are mostly for preparing to install a custom ROM, though - stock ROMs should be installable on any SPL version.
it not work with my trophy verizon

Hi,
I'm attempting to Interop Unlock my HTC HD7.
I've just run a restore in Zune, but it appears that the earliest restore gives me:
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision number: 2250.21.51002.728
Hardware revision number: 0002
Radio software version: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader version: 5.10.2250.0(132968)
Chip SOC version: 2.2.5.0
I understand that if I have a Firmware revision number of 5xxxx, I cannot run the Interop Unlock as seen in this thread.
From what I see, it is possible for me to download a Stock ROM, in my case, this, and run that to downgrade my Firmware revision number.
I would just like to clarify before I start this process. Is the above information correct, and to run the Stock ROM, do I simply enter Bootloader Mode, start the .exe as downloaded from the thread, and let it run (seems too simple to me)?
Also, should I manage to get Interop Unlock working on a Firmware revision number of 4xxxx, would the Interop Unlock stick once I update the phone (is normal Zune update even possible after that)?
Thanks.
Be very careful. Since you have bootloader 5.xx
Pretty sure downgrading like that will brick your device. You have to use a y-cable. Last I heard, ive had my hd7 unlocked for a while not sure of newer ways.
Look for the downgrading spl thread in hd7 development. I think that's where it is.
After downgrade spl. I would just install hard-spl and flash a custom rom. Easier.
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Thanks for the reply. Didn't know about the Bootloader thing, fortunately I didn't go ahead with it yet.
I was under the impression that if the ROM is the official ROM for my region (SEA, Singapore, 728), I wouldn't require any modifications to the SPL.
I don't want to mess with the SPL or the bootloader though, I've bricked enough devices (not WP7) to have a phobia of such things. Guess I'll have to wait for a breakthrough in unlocking, unless someone has any other methods.
If you want to be absolutely safe, GoldCard (which what @reeg420 meant when mentioning Y-cable) is the most reliable method.
However, I *think* you can actually downgrade to an older stock ROM just fine even with SPL 5.x. It just won't downgrade the SPL itself the way it normally would. You can't use RSPL on SPL 4.x or higher, which is why being able to downgrade the SPL is sometimes important (people who want to use custom ROMs need RSPL).
I suggest you do a bit more searching before deciding. I have not tried messing with SPL 5.x at all; I briefly had 4.x on my phone and promptly downgraded it to 3.1 again.
Thanks. I decided to go ahead with it, but got an error: "ERROR 226 (Flash Write - FLASH write error happened. Please check your PDA Phone)", which rebooted my phone. Phone appears to be okay though, not bricked.
Looks like I'll probably need to use a GoldCard?
Edit: So it appears that the earliest ROM that allows me to HSPL is this, which has the Bootloader 1.54.2250.0(112696). Could someone check my following steps and verify that I'm correct?
1. Get Y-Cable, USB Gender Changer, MicroSD+Card Reader
2. Get GoldCard Tool
3. Get GoldCard IMG, from this thread? "My custom goldcard.img"
4. Format MicroSD to FAT32
5. Place RUU_signed.nbh extracted from the aforementioned ROM with Bootloader 1.54.2250.0(112696), renamed to SCHUIMG.nbh
6. Run GoldCard Tool, ignore CID box, use GoldCard IMG, Patch MMC
7. Connect GoldCard, Y-Cable, phone, etc, etc, etc, patch phone
8. Get DFT's WP7FG3 from this thread
9. Install HSPL (or should I get RSPL? What is the difference?)
10. Find ROM of my choice (what do you recommend?)
11. Run selected ROM's ROMUpdateUtility.exe, flash device to new Custom ROM
Q1: What happens if the GoldCard process fails?

Q3: Am I able to upgrade my device with Official ROMs in the future after performing this, or must I simply use Custom ROMs from here?
Q4: Will having a Custom ROM affect my connectivity with my network?

Answer for Q1: it will definitely brick your device
Answer for Q2: no cons that may disturb you
Answer for Q3: yes, you're able to upgrade your device with official roms
Answer for Q4: no, as i use custom rom on my device, no connectivity problems
Wow, the GoldCard step looks incredibly daunting then. Guess I'll give this a shot. Will have to wait for the stuff to arrive from Amazon though, which will probably be a while given my location.
Thanks everyone for your input
