Voip for webos? - WebOS Software and Hacking General

want to know if there is an app for voip on the webos

AFAIK, Skype is as close as you get (so far) but I don't know how well that works personally.

Skype works good on touchpad. I like it

Isn't there native Google talk intergration to webOS ? or is only for pre3? or there isn't any for pre 3 as well?

Skype is included in the 2.1.0 Update (for the Pre Plus).
On my Pre3 Google Talk is included, but as far as I can see only for simple text messaging. I'm able to add a Skype account in the phone settings, but I can't add a Google Talk account.

linphone
Linphone is under dev still alpha version , wiki and download are on webosnation.

No way to put compatible client on the PC like Yahoo Messenger and use the equivalent droid client? Does it have to be Win Live?

Android client doesn't support any form of video.
i doubt thee is yet, but I think very soon they might have one. well if yahoo has an add on, i think msn should have one as well!
yahoo doesn´t support samsung galaxy in the new version.
i was looking for so long, but i really didn´t find anything.
guess we have to wait until 2.3 will show up. heard there will be more native support for such things......
Fring says it works with msn messenger if that's the same as win live messenger
Sorry you said you tested that ill keep my eyes open

Free video calling apps for Android?

I have tried Tango which is free and seems okay but I wanted to know if there are any other video calling apps? It doesn't matter if voice isn't part of it.
In regards to Tango - is the only necessary thing needed a SIM and internet connection e.g. wifi? I assumed it would use my minutes but after reading the decription I guess it doesn't. Can anyone clarify?
No, it doesn't uses up your minutes. And a sim card is not necessary, because I've seen it work on an iPod touch
Check out ooVoo...

Sent from my SPH-P100 using XDA App
IM+ Pro. Sure's the best.
Sent from my Latin Overcome Experience ;D
Yes im+ pro. But you have to pay for it. If you have yahoo account then use yahoo messanger. If youbhave google account then use gtalk.

Used to use eBuddy, now I'm using Trillian.
Try "imo.im". You can sign in using multiple accounts, e.g. skype, yahoo, google talk, jabber, facebook, ICQ, etc.

My vote goes for Trillian.
I vote ebuddy.

Trillian. Got it free from Amazon's free app of the day. Great on battery life too.

I've used Trillian, eBuddy, Nimbuzz, and imo.im (all free). Among them, I would say that imo.im is the best.
Each to his own, though.
Trillian routes your messages through its servers, which always bothered me.
What does IM+ Pro offer over imo.im or Meebo?
Didn't there used to be an official MSN app? Seems to have disappeared from the market though.
Is there such a thing as an IM app which allows voice clips, as well as signing in from multiple locations with MSN/Live messenger?
Slick is the best then im+

[Q] Video Chat Options

I have the Transformer on Android 3.1 and I can not for life of me find anything that uses the webcam for video chat. Google Voice, Qik, Skype none of them either show up in the market or allow video chat...
Are there any apps that work? Why have a front facing cam if you can't video chat?
Thanks for the help!
Another issue you will likely have is the microphone is not sensitive enough for conversations.
Can you give Google Talk another look. I've been doing video chat with my brothers (just one minor issue, the built-in microphone sucks. I hope Google will add a Gain-setting). If the other party has a video capability, Talk will allow you to do video.
I just looked for google talk in the market this morning. It does not show up at all.

Gotcha... I have prime 1.5 is there a way to get it installed?
Look in your apps folder? It's on Prime.
I think you're not looking hard enough.

It's just called Talk. Some people have a hard time finding it because it's not branded with Google before it.
Talk works perfectly for text, voice and video communication. Together with Google+, there's a really awesome way to grab a few friends or co-workers and video conference on the fly.
I use fring and it worked fine

Talk is preinstalled on the TF.
If you search there's a version of Yahoo Messenger floating around that work just fine.
I have use both Talk and Yahoo IM and both work great with the built in mic
So does this work with Google+ Hangout!?
I'd like to be able to use Google+ Hangout on here... that'd be sweet.

You could just try one of the many multi-protocol IM apps which support Live Messenger.
Trillian
Meebo
imo
eBuddy
You'll have to search for them because it's not letting me post links until I have 8 posts.
Did you try official one ?
