[Q] problems with CyanogenMod 7.1 and 3G

Hi, yesterday i installed the CyanogenMod 7.1 for Galaxy Fit, everything was going great, but this mornig i have troubles registering with my 3G provider, if i reboot the phone, it registers, but about 2 minutes later it unregisters, so i had to reboot again, if i try to register manually, doesn't find the network.
I used the w3 euseuandroid dot com guide
edit 1: Sometimes it registers manually, but goes down with intermitence, drops signal about 1 minute later.
edt 2: if i check the "use only 2G networks" works fine, so i have no 3G
if anybody knows how to fix this issue i would be fully gratefull

Hola, ayer instalé el CyanogenMod 7.1 en mi Galay Fit, todo bien, muy bonito, pero desde esta mañana tengo problemas para que se registre en la red de TIGO, si lo reinicio, registra automaticamente, pero al cabo de unos minutos pierde la conexion y toca reiniciarlo de nuevo, al tratar de registrarlo manualmente no encuentra la red.
si alguien sabe algo como arreglar eso, le agradecería mucho
Edit: A veces deja registrar manualmente, pero sige con intermitencia, se cae la señal casi al minuto
Edit 2: si le doy a "solo usar redes 2G" no se cae.. o sea se dañó el 3g =/

Bro...its not totally bugfree....it has some audio and video playback problem...i tried to fix it...u can check VISH'S CM7.1 forum to have a look at the fix...

Bugs found by me
I have found some bugs for CM7
- my Compass not normally, always abnormal on magnetic....
- I can't charge my phone in shutdown mode, always reboot when I connect to charger
-my fit based on XXKPL with deodexed...

Si eres de latinoamerica primero flashea la rom kp6 2.3.4 que es para latinoamerica, luego el cwm y cm 7 respectivamente.

Compass is working fine for me. U can try caliberating compass, probably, that will fix your problem.
And the phone really doesnt charge when is turned off. Thats a new issue!

but now I'm back to fitdroid, cz my Camera360 always forced close when processing...
overall I like cm7, but I'll wait the finall version of CM7

Thanks a lot for all of your replies, i have installed vishwanathptl's CM 7.1, but 3G still not working, i have not another issues, camera works fine, mic and video playback ok, maybe i will do what Ping91 says, maybe with a fresh restart will work.
Btw, where can i download kp6 2.3.4 ROM? i cannot find it anywhere.

Guys here's the solution for 3g issues with cm7.1...
-Open fitdroid Rom zip with winrar
-browse to /system/etc/apns_conf.xml
-drag the file to your desktop
-now move the file to the root of your SD card
-use root explorer and browse to /system/etc and rename the existing apns_conf.XML file to apns_conf.XML.back
-now move the copied file from the root of your SD card to /system/etc
And your done...3g works like a charm now

Well I am facing reboot issues a few times while installing apps above 10mb (mainly CM7 themes)...

I guess you wont be able to install CM7 themes....
They are phone specific....am working on making CM7 themes for our fit...will take time as am still learning and upon that i have my exams next month....
Will update as soon as am done...
You can try UOT kitchen...where you can cook your own CM7 themes....

No..I am able to install and apply all CM7 mdpi and ldpi themes...and all of them work fine but sometimes while installation of the apk's my phone just reboots!

I tried on Galaxy fit... I copied on SD and Install from recovery mode it says "Installation Aborted". Please help me. My phone is rooted.

Edit 2: I think i cannot use 3G because in latin america we work in 900/2100 frecuencies, and i know in europe /Asia there are different frecuencies and CM 7.1 is based in a "non-latin america" ROM

I just had to go back to stock Gingerbread, 3G working just fine.
This exercise taught me several things, CM 7.1 is based on a European or Asian ROM, and 3G frequencies are different from Latin America, so while there is no CM 7.1 ROM based on Latin America, it is best to keep the stock ROM if you have to use 3g, if not, CM 7.1 is great .

No, you can't use any Samsung Kernel because more devices with MIUI not working. Use only supported kernel, at moment use Vurrut kernel with this reference:

What's not working?
At moment not working property:
Camera (front and rear).
Video playback not working with more codec. Few codec working property.
Wifi Hotspot not working.
Few themes not working property. For a moment not sicure to install any themes, please not report problem if you have modified theme.
Few people have blacklight problem, for a moment the developers not give and can't fix it. No report and report and report.. annoing... You can disable animations and the blacklight not showing.
In the latest version not able to create a Miui backup, fixed in next release or when developers have time to fix it. For a moment use CWM backup.
How to install:
You need to be on XXKPQ Firmware.
Go to recovery, full wipe (reset...dalvik...data...).
Install the MIUI and reboot.
Leave the phone for 5 min alone then reboot again (for the cache to build).

excuse the trouble but I was wondering if you could help me.
I installed the MIUI v3, v4 and then I always have the problem of wifi. it find network, finds it and get the connection hangs address ip.Ho asked JP and he advised me to assign an ip static.i have also opened my network . done.now connects to the network and the icon appears,but not navigate . not responding when start loading the page. Do you know how to do? All other rom including your work great .

No,work in cm7 with all kernel.in miui not work.
With xxb3 modem wifi not work.

@infernum i think it should work on the p925 cyanogen dont know. Maybe you could try it and let me know but make sure you back up your original boot.img in cwm.
@eduardogm 1. its cyanogen 2. No dosnt work with promethius 3. if you have gc with normal cyanogen then you will with this.

It does not work because the baseband is different. the mobile starts but does not catch network operator

EDIT: Do you know where i can get p925 cyanogen kernel source is it a branch on the lge cosmo kernel.
EDIT 2: Have you tried a different baseband like O3D one, would doing this effect 4g stuff?

I have a optimus 3D, but with the problem of "ghost calls", we use the CyanogenMod ROM for P925 and the baseband of froyo (O3D). No calls ghosts, we CyanogenMod and have a good phone, not 3D.
The kernel can take it from here?

Does titan fusion work on miui though because Cyan+ is using the same ramdisk.

THIS IS NOT A ZIP INSTALL :|:|:|: FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW.
Step by step install:
1- Make sure you've the ICS running on your phone.
2- Root it
3- Install twrp
4- download the file on download link.
5- Do a backup of your cell to create the restore folder to TWRP
6- Unpack it into the inside the folder of your sdcard on the folder that looks like /sdcard/_ExternalSD/TWRP/BACKUPS/XXXXXXXXXX (change this x for your created folder and also save your backup) .
7- reboot into twrp.
8- select restore, and restore system, I also putted the boot and recovery images on file to make sure your cel will boot up
IMPORTANT:
The deodexed keyboard rises a fc, please install the attached one or the one on apps manager.

This video was recorded using airdroid so antutu benchmark is not accurate on the video.
Well I don't know how to explain, but for the first time I don't yell at my phone everytime I really need it, like to use gps or unlock the screen while listening some mp3.
My sdcard is 32 gb and it has almost 120000 inodes, so I removed it from antutu test.
PS: Now the apps manager also has wifikill and airdroid.
If you like it, please give me a feedback, so I can reopen this project or go for another.

lol imma XDA Ninja now wait till source Drops and CM10 comes out im sure the kernel can be modded to run on GB this ICS bootloader turns me off messing around with the rom i have my On this http://www.xda-developers.com/android/meizu-mxs-flyme-os-ported-to-the-att-galaxy-s-ii/ and MIUI V4 + Paranoid till theN i will help out where i can

I did, is it supposed to just look exactly the same as what I am currently running? I installed as per your instructions and everything was the same except the additional applications. I also note that it wouldn't read my sd card after flashing as well. I as well as others appreciate your work mate so keep going, maybe this thread should be moved to development. Maybe you could theme the rom as well and put up some pictures. It might have been because I was in the car but the beats mod didn't seem to be doing anything.

Please test it for 2 days, This rom is very fast, I didn't put anything awesome, just use it because it's really fast.
The deodexed version gives me 6144 on antutu benchmark.

This is not possible, because you must be already running the ics, cwm can't install all your system due the partitions sizes and specifications.

[Q] My phone turn off after 5min with any rom

Hello, i'm Daniel from Argentina and i have a problem.
Recently i installed bmm, i create a system 3 with 2gb for image, 300mb for cache and 500mb for system.
I flash 2 differents roms (pacman and dirty unicorn), and in both of them the phone gets every minute slower and after 5 mins it freezes for 10 seconds and autoshutdown.
Any idea? kernel, overheating, partitions size?
I'm on jb 4.1.1, kernel 3.0.8. Oh, also gapps after being flashed when i go back bmm freezes for seconds and then it close it with forze.

For the ones who know spanish, here it is...
Bueno, eso, hoy instale el boot menu manager, hize un system 3 con 2gb de image, 300mb de cache y 500mb de system.
Instale 2 roms diferentes, y en ambas a los 5 minutos(aprox) despues de usarlas se congelan 10 segs y tengo que sacar la bateria. Y tambien durante esos 5m va creciendo lo lento que va andando, es decir a los 4m es muy lenta y a los 5m pum, se traba.
Tienen idea de que puede ser? Yo creo que debe ser por algo del tamaño de la particion o sobrecalentamiento, pero el tamaño que puse lo lei de un user de xda y el sobrecalentamiento no se porque podria ser.
Puede que tenga que ver con el kernel?
Por cierto, el system 1, es decir el original funciona perfectamente. Y otro dato, luego de flashear los gapps, no vuelve atras y entonces el bmm lo cierra forzozamente

Try to reflash stock ics first. And also, maybe your battery is dead? You need retest with good battery first.

no, my battery on my stock system works fine.
Do you think that after a factory reset to jb i will be able to run roms? Because both roms run on jb i don't know what is the problem.

As I said you need to test battery life on stock ics. If it still gives that, I tink it might be something with board. Or your phone simple can't run JB rom (because I think it runs more juice than ICS one).

Did u try running other roms with different kernels? U could give that a shot.

Well IMO your culprit is the 2GB data partition. BMM simply doesn't play well with 2GB partitions.
Make a smaller partition and then flash again.Don't make too small a partition though.Data partition should be atleast 500MB+

Davesh thanks for the help, i did a 1000mb partition, installed paranoid 3.69, gapps and it auto shutdown before i finish the initial configuration (email and that). At least it didn't freeze

Do you have enough space free???
boot into your system 1 and see how much free space do you have in your data..
You did follow the proper steps in creating partitions and activating them right??

Yes i have enough space (2.66gb)
Well, i think that i activate the 2nd system y the second reboot, but in the first time i enter to bmm menu. May that affect? Can i unistall bmm like any other app and do the steps again?
