Hello,
I have a little problem with granting me to root. I have terminal emulator and original 2.3.3 android inside and i dont know, how to make me root. Tutorials on the net are incorrect for my granting. If someone know how can i make root, write there some points of step by step guide
Thanks
Did you find how to root it?
Can you share if you did?

Before you just delete this post I want to say what I EXACTLY want to know:
What does it need that the ROM signs me in as root? I don't want to know how to flash one of these ROMs like Cyanogen or something, but I want to know what I have to change in my ROM that it logs in as ROOT!
So if there is a post already, just tell me WHERE. Because when I search for "how to root" or something like that I get those flashing guides.
I hope you can help me.
Best regards,

Hi, you said you flashed your phone with the ION rom, correct? Well, download the SDK and follow the instructions in dferreira's first post detailing how to obtain root
Yeah! That's right. But I wanted to know, how I can do that in general.
And I'm a bit confused, because after I did it like it was said in the thread you mentioned and I type
Code:
su
id
in the console (Terminalemulator.apk and also via adb) it doesn't say I'm root.
//edit: in Terminal Emulator it says I am user "app_38" in the group "app_38". In the adb shell it says that I'm user "shell" in group "shell"...
What does it say in the terminal? Because as far as I know, root uid is 0, and mine isn't listed as such. I'm not 100% sure, because I'm also new to this, but I think that regardless of whether it shows or not you are indeed root.
For example, to test root on my phone I took a few screenshots of my phone using the app "drocap2" which requires root. I also was able to flash a new bootscreen image etc
Yeah that's right uid 0 is root and that's what confused me. But when you say that you can run apps that require root... I will test it in a sec.
How did it go?
Edit: I think actually you need to enable local root for using a terminal and such (instead of going through the recovery/adb shell).

Hope this is the right place to post this question. I'm so curious my cat has one life left.
How would you root a droid from scratch?
What's the process?
I realize the process would fill volumes, so all i'm looking for is some pointers on where I can find this info.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=670
Assuming you mean the moto droid 1
If not just search the device and all that info is in the development section, read the first few posts or "stickies" to learn more
Hope this helps
It did help and thanks.
Please correct me where this is wrong but it seems that:
Rooting is simply the process of granting yourself superuser privileges on the phone.
If that's correct, then what, on a stock phone, is preventing me from getting root access to the phone?
How do I find whatever it is that's blocking root access?
How do I change the 'blocker' to allow root access?
A specific example on the process would be very informative.
So.. After a whole week trying to find a succesful way to root this f***ng phone, no success has been found.
I couldn't find this phone's section on XDA so I'm posting this on the general section...
If anyone could give me the link to the section, it would be very appreciated.
This is the phone:
Samsung Galaxy Trend 3 - SM-G3502C
Android Version: 4.3
Build Number: JLS36C.G3502CZCUAOD1
I have tried a number of on android apps, windows software, and even tried rooting manually by adb and linux. But couldn't have a single successful attempt or any signs of progress made...
Can anyone help me out with this phone, the reason I need root is because this is a chinese phone and doesnt have Play Store installed, and I need root access to install Play Store on /system/apps/ and give R+W permission...
Apps tried:
Saferoot
Kingo App Root
iRoot (vRoot/Root Master)
OneClickRoot
TowelRoot
A bunch of .bat rooting scripts
Baidu in-app Rooter
Rooting through ADB (everything was going fine until I had to access Ubuntu's Nautilus, to move the files to /system/ but the device wouldn't mount by MTP on download mode, and I couldn't access the files) link to the guide followed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2684210
Any help would be truly appreciated, and If there is a way to install play store without the need of root access, or even a good replacement for play store would be really good.
Also, I have 0 experience on custom recovery, so, If any developer out there could create a custom recovery for this phone, I could give them the recovery.img from this phone and modify it to work on this phone. If that's the way it works, idk XD.
P.D. I already opened a thread on XDA-Assist but sorry, I had to move it, I saw that every post on that section had little views and replies and I was worried that this would happened to me on that section to me too. I'm ok if I need to erase it from there but I would like to leave it there for some time if there is any replies.

Has anyone created a method to root Acer a1-713 manually?
Those one click methods are really crude also I don't even know what's happening in there.
If anyone knows it please help me.

Some said that Kingroot worked for them in this Q&A thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/root-recovery-acer-iconia-tab-7-a1-713-t2851573

Well it didn't for me. Also I want to know what I am doing with my tab and not just know that tapping this button will root my tab.
Have you ever tried to look at this site -> http://www.oneclickroot.com/device/acer-iconia-a1-713/. They featured this one-click rooting and it seems they can be trusted. I've downloaded and installed their software so no worries. Well, I'm also using a one-click root utility and it's always working. (just sayin')
The process of rooting a device is too complicated for those who don't have knowledge in Linux (like me), so your question about manually is out.

Well this one click root website was also a waste of time and didn't work either .
I may have to wait a little bit more before dumping this thread.
Rooting an android device basically means (for me) granting You (as the user) to do whatever you want to your device's system, hardware, etc. But what does root will actually do to your device that will cause you to obtain that superuser access? It's because of the "su" (Switch User) file used by Android and other UNIX-based systems that allows a process of switching of a user to be the superuser (or root user) that has access to the commands and file system, meaning those processes that requires root permission (root access or superuser access) need to invoke su. So basically the process of rooting will just push this su, a binary executable file, to the file system so that you can switch to the root user to give root permissions... And the Superuser application is just optional, but really required for some reasons, it serves as the "gatekeeper" of the su binary so when a certain command or application that invokes su will prompt the user by the Superuser app first before granting the root permission since becoming the root user can do whatever to the system which means it can cause the device to malfunction, etc... So what do you mean by manually?
Sorry for what I'd just suggest you that OneClickRoot waste your time...
Oh, there's a bad news after spending time searching how to root your device, read the news here -> [GUIDE] Firmwares, ROMs, CWM, Root - Acer Iconia (MTK) Tablets [ⒶⒸⒺⓇ ⒹⒺⓋⒾⓁⓈ]
Can't find a best way to root your Acer.
Well thanks for enlightening me on the topic, I hadn't really understood what really is su..
By manually I meant by using computer and tinkering with the files hands on.
Oh, and you needn't to be sorry since everything I tried didn't work. Sometimes I had root till the app was open while sometimes it existed until the next reboot.
Also looked at the link you gave and well, what can I say, it really is bad news and there sure is the risk of bricking my device.
Well thanks for taking your time.
