mango jailbreak!!!! - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys i update my samsung omnia 7 to (samfw) update mango and i cant find any way to jailbreak it
any one can help me please

That is exactly what I want to know too.
I had the Mango Beta 2 (7712) on my Omnia 7 jailbroken.
Now I flashed the WP7-Engineer FW from samfirmware. Is there any way to jailbreak it now?

nothing

Your first option is to flash a pre NoDo ROM and to then unlock it, using ChevronWP7. Afterwards you are able to use ProvXML to unlock it after installing any updates. Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226030.
Your second option is to simply wait till http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253686 goes somewhere. You would then be able to flash any custom ROM with a direct unlock.
The last option is to wait for http://labs.chevronwp7.com/ as they will apparently allow us to unlock our devices for 9$ in the future, but it is unsure if this will be a normal developer unlock.

O have the dft custom rom with mango beta 1. It's jailbroken, so I can install my own xaps
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

Currently custom ROMs are only available for HTC. Hopefully either Cotulla will be able to do something with the focus or maybe something will happen with that other link that I posted. Either way I'm keeping my thumbs crossed, though I'm guessing I will be just as happy when official mango gets released and we can just use ProvXML.

Putting HTC trophy to factory state

Hey, just something quick. I'm running teh Mango beta but i keep hearing about the pros of unlocking your phone. So I wanted to unlock. I recieved this phone without the NoDo update, since it downloaded that when I first used zune.
So can I just click return to factory settings on the phone and then use chevron? then go through all the effort of updating back to mango.

No ...its not that simple...
Sinse your phone has nodo and its not unlocked you cant use chevron to unlock.
You must first flash a pre-nodo rom (7004 or 7008) unlock with chevron and then update all the way up to mango
Roms for trophy can be found here

[Q] Choice between jailbroken Mango and new Firmware

Hello xda-developers
Currently I've got a unlocked Mango: I've flashed an old ROM (7.0.7004) and used ChevronWP7 to get a developer unlock. Then i installed NoDo and the BETA version of Mango and I'm still unlocked (Thanks to provxml-method)!
But I heard about a new ROM for my Omnia 7 which fixes accidentially hitting of "back" and "search" button (They won't be activated as long as a finger is on the screen or when you slide your finger from the touchscreen over the buttons - you've to directly press them to activate them).
I'd love to have this fix on my Omnia 7 - but the only problem is that the ROM file already contains the NoDo update and as far as I know I'm not able to jailbreak after installing it.
So my question is: Is there still any method to get the new ROM or the fix + developer unlock? Or do I have to wait until SPL will be released for Samsung devices and then install a ROM file which has got the fix inplemented and is also jailbroken or.. jailbreakable?
Thanks in advance,
experience7
*push* I'm also interessted if that works
Well Mango update was released
i want to try
i remember you teaches me to re-locking then update

Not "relocking then update"! You have to unlock your phone while on 7008 or earlier and then you've to put the provxml file to the right place. Then you should update -> Jailbreak lost -> Using provxml file and connection manager to get the jailbreak again

[Q] on following Mango update guide

I have a Samsung Focus that I am trying to update. I am trying to follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101344
However, I don't understand this part:
Code:
4. Run Application Deployment, click on browse
--- for hTC phones, click on TouchXplorer.xap
--- for Omnia 7, click on WP7RootTools 0.5 alpha.xap
-- and click on open
Does my phone need to be unlocked to follow this? Should I do it with Chevron?

if you are not unlocked and upgrade to Mango you will have a hard time unlocking it within Mango (and won't be able to sideload). Unlock in pre-NoDo and then carry the unlock over to NoDo and Mango following the guide. yes, people have successfully carried their Chevron unlock over to NoDo and then Mango. You need to make sure that it cannot relock when you connect to Zune. The tools listed allow you to make the reg changes to do that.
i thought I was reading somewhere that it's not possible to unlock past 7004 or something like that, which was before NoDo? (using Chevron)

you are correct. I corrected my post. So you need to start with
A. NoDo Update Guide: How To Pass ChevronWP7 from OS 7004 to OS February 2011 update and 7392 NoDo
So let me try to understand that, if my phone is unlocked now and when I update to mango it might might not unlock anymore, regardless if I got a SIM code from htc? I am new into this so I'm trying to get into it lol.......
I have a question regarding the official Mango update for my HTC Trophy. I unlocked 7004 via Chevron, did some hacks for preventing it from being relocked (via this thread) and updated to 7392 (NoDo). Everything is OK, device is still unlocked.
What should I do for preventing my device being relocked during the ongoing official Mango update?
Is there already some solution, or will it be after the official Mango release will appear in Zune?

I think we are talking about two different kinds of unlocking. I am referring to unlocking the phone for sideloading homebrew apps. If you upgrade to Mango you might not be able to sideload homebew apps that allow you to customize your phone until the gurus come up with a solution for Mango. Then there is SIM unlock to be able to use a device with a different SIM. I think that is what you are referring to. That will not change for you if you upgrade to Mango.

If you follow Ansar's tutorial you will see that there are preventions you can take to stay unlocked. You basically finished part A of his tutorial and can continue to part B with prerequisites for Mango upgrade.
B. MangoB2 Update Guide: How To Pass ChevronWP7 from OS 7392 [NoDo] to OS 7403 and 7712
In your case 7712 will be 7720.68 once it is released.
When you have all prerequisits finished from Ansar's post you stop there and are ready for official Mango once it comes out.
Reports from people who were NoDo unlocked and proceeded to Mango are mixed. Some kept the unlock some didn't. If it doesn't stay unlocked you have to have the files ready on the device to be able to unlock it without going back to NoDo. This is what Ansar's post explains. For the HTC you will put a CustClear.provxml file in place that you can deploy to unlock it.
This post also explains how to keep it unlocked. You follow the guide to the point at which it does the actual Mango upgrade. That is where you stop and wait for the official one.
But even if your device is locked in Mango you can go back to a NoDo restore point you created before you went to Mango. All explained in the guides/tutorials above.

You think some of those who followed the Ansars guide or those who just upgraded from unlocked NoDo to Mango without any other hacks before update?
The second link is some other guide than Ansars, if I am right, I can choose which one to use?
Thanks for help!

those who just upgraded. I myself just upgraded but luckily for LG users there is an LG phone tool on the device that allows to modify the registry at any stage.
Yip. That's d mfg menu, and I love it..

Today I have succesfuly registered my ISIC student card with validity until december this year into the Microsoft Developer Account.
Now I have Chevron unlocked NoDo WP7 (HTC Trophy) with some modifications to prevent it from relocking during sync etc. I would like to unlock it via official Developer Account I now have.
1) If am not wrong - I should HR my phone, it will go to NoDo locked and then I can use application "Windows Phone Developer Registration" which will unlock my device and it will stay unlocked also after Mango update?
2) Is it possible by developer unlocked device to modify registry entries? I need to add one entry, so I will have Mango in my native language after update.
3) After one year, will it automatically lock my device and I will need to perform new ISIC validation, which will be in that day already expired?
4) If it will expire, will it hard reset or block my phone or will it stay in way it is, but it will not only be possible to side load xap's?
Thanks for answers!

ChevronWP7 is annoying me!!!?

Hi All,
firstly ive searched all day on XDA to find out why im getting the 'sorry i'm having trouble communication...' when running ChevronWP7.exe but still can't get it to unlock.
A little info:
Previously i was no-do and had the chevron Unlock then i upgraded to Mango and realised that my phones not unlocked anymore. So after a couple of months i thought id try and install Mango with the unlock.
Ive successfully installed a pre-NODO rom but cant get past the next stage of doing the Chevron unlock coz of this problem. Its really annoying me. What can i do to get past this stage? have i installed the wrong rom or something???
all advice will be appreciated.
Samsung Omnia 7 (On T-Mobile network)
OS version 7.0.7004.0
thanks
Your best bet is to contact them directly at [email protected]. Their twitter http://twitter.com/#!/ChevronWP7 also has some information you may want to check out to see if it applies to you.
You need to use old Zune (which came with old drivers and connectivity tool but I can't tell you exact version), and change date on your PC/phone to 2010 because Chevron's certificate is expired now.

WindowBreak Omnia 7

Hey guys,
i'm very new to WP7 unlocks, but today i tried Jaxbot's windowbreak on my Omnia 7 with 8107.79 OS. well, i hadnt looked up everything avout that and just followed the instructions of the video on windowsphonehacker.com. then i put the root tools 0.9 XAP to my phone using microsoft's application deployment. later i saw in the forums that windowbreak doesnt work on 8107.79 devices cause of the KK2 update. So, now my qustion: is it alright and have i got an unlocked omnia 7 because it worked with the XAP or what do i have to do?
FabiF..
There's a lot of misinformation about unlocks on the forums. The pertinent facts are:
1. If you were able to install and run WP7 Root Tools without modiying the XAP file first, then WindowBreak worked for you. You're ready to go.
2. Windowbreak doesn't care at all about your OS version; it cares about your firmware version. For a Samung gen2 phone, I believe KK4 and below will work.
3. Sometimes, a firmware update is included with an OS update. Some Samsung gen1 phones got KK2 (which blocked Windowbreak) with their 8107 update.

so, that means my phone is now developerunlocked? But when i tried to deploy a custom theme with that application from windowsphonehacker.com i instantly got an error. Also, if i try to 'save XAP' and deploy with Microsofts application deployment tool an error occurs.
Well, i found my mistake: i synced with zune and my phone got relocked. so, i just repeated the windowbreak progress and it seams to work fine now. but is there a way to keep zune from relocking? i just found some ways for htc devices, but none for samsung.
WindowBreak should include the "prevent relock" registry configuration, which removes the server that Microsoft uses to check and modify your phone's lock status from the phone's registry. I'm not sure why your phone would have relocked so quickly after WindowBreak, but you can try sideloading, marking Trusted, and running the "prevent relock" app that is intended for use with the Tango upgrade (which also resets the relock check URLs; you didn't install Tango did you?)
well, tango means the 8773 update?
8773 or later, yes. It's known to reset the "prevent relock" change, so your phone will relock itself shortly after installing Tango unless you get a bit tricky with it. 8107 has no impact on lock/unlock status, though.
