I have been searching for a stock recovery image for my I9020A.
My phone is going to be going back to Samsung for repair, I don't want to send it in with clockwork recovery on there. I have reverted back to Stock 2.3.3 and unrooted already (I can fastboot oem unlock again if need be).
Any help with this process would be greatly appreciated.

To get the stock recovery back, just flash the stock ROM for the phone -- the stock recovery will come with it. For the Nexus S you can also re-lock the bootloader from your computer's ADK with the fastboot oem lock command to get rid of that telltale open padlock icon on the boot screen. That should relieve any warranty worries about a phone going back for repair.
you mean, just flash in the cwm the right one from this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056062
simple like that?!
Brother here is everything you need from images you can flash them through ADB, excellent directions also (my "thanks" moment for the night

You should edit your post These guys have GSM Nexus S's....
Yep, gsm one.
But nevermind. I just realised that is pretty much it. Flash the ota file from recovery and in the first boot the rom will replace the recovery to the stock...
Thank you guys...

I did the same thing with my I9020T, I accidentally used the 4G one click unroot and it installed a 4G rom on my T-mobile NS. Now when I try to flash a stock rom for the I9020T it gives me a signature verification errror, I'm still trying to figure it out
I haven't tried it out yet but I have a theory. The recovery on my phone I realised is the default Google one. Not CWM so I'm gonna try and reflash CWM and try to install an i9023 stock rom.
It you have a comp around try it would you? I'm not getting home for a while :/

Go get the correct rom then rename it to update.zip move it to the root of your sd
Go in stock fastboot mode
Go to recovery hit the power button and when you see the the android question mark guy hold volume up and power
Go to apply update.zip and when your on your correct rom do this process to flash any stock rom
You should just flash the correct ICS rom ,good luck and please read read and when you think you got it read some more
BEST DAMN PHONE BECAUSE WE HAVE THE BEST DAMN DEVELOPERS!
Another way I can think of is to flash koushs recovery img in fastboot mode and restore one of your backups, hopefully you didn't delete them because there still there but you have to fastboot flash recovery recovery.img to see them
BEST DAMN PHONE BECAUSE WE HAVE THE BEST DAMN DEVELOPERS!
I tried using the default Google recovery to flash back. Hopeless. I keep getting the security error. I'm pretty sure Koush’s cwm will be able to fix it but I need a damn computer!

Solved. I flashed CWM. Flashed a rom(CyberGR) and a baseband(XXKB3) and I realized my efs was screwed. I restored my efs with Root explorer. And done. Problem solved.
I have the same problem too, and I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396224 to boot using recovery mode. It works!
I have a Nexus S, rooted, and every time I install CWM, I restart and then when I restart the recovery after a full boot, it is gone. I am now trying the TWRP recovery(I like it) and it still does this, it is on 3e recovery everytime it reverts back. I remember something like this on my Vibrant and I remember I had to flash a custom stock kernel or recovery.... I don't quite remember how it worked. Really would like to know how to keep the recoveries I installed, just in case I ever need it.
I even followed this guide:

Help would be greatly appreciated!
Did you rename "install-recovery.sh" to "install-recovery.sh.old"? If not, your phone will revert back to stock recovery on each reboot.

Thanks! I also saw that on the thread, I just downloaded my Root Manager back and did so.... TWRP is awesome!
No problemo, glad I could help
Yikes, am I in a predicament.
So, here I am, with my Nexus S I9020A on Koodo in Canada, rooted with TWRP v2.2.0 recovery and stock 4.0.4; well, with all the JellyBean buzz going about I figured, hey, why not, and I made a nandroid backup using TWRP, and copied said backup onto my PC for an extra copy.
Well, after playing around with an AOSP rom of 4.1.1 I want the stock OTA, but restoring the backup I made yields no results, touting "no recovery or img" as an error. So now I have no idea how to get to either stock JellyBean (which is where I want to be) or at least stock 4.0.4 for the I9020A so I can get the OTA.
What do I do?!
Try flashing twrp again. I had this problem on my ns4g awhile ago while running one of the older twrp recoveries. If memory serves, I was able to reflash twrp, reboot recovery, then restore a twrp backup. If it still won't restore, try wiping & flashing a ROM of your choice. You may have to adb fastboot flash...

I'm trying to reflash TWRP and restore again - fingers crossed.
What happened to that list of all official OTA variants for the Nexus S?
I'm referring to that list that had for instance :
Nexus S - I9020A:
2.3.4 - Download link
2.3.6 - Download link
etc, etc.
I just want to get back to stock 4.0.4 so I can get the 4.1.1 OTA :S
Or have any way to get to STOCK 4.1.1 for the I9020A Nexus :S

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks, ended up just taking the long road there and back from Gingerbread to JellyBean, so far so good!
Thanks for everyone's help!
I did something wrong and now my phone is BOOT LOOPING (will not get passed the boot animation).
I can still enter FASTBOOT FLASH MODE, but i do not have rom to flash.
I can also enter into CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY but once again I'm missing a rom to flash.
Can someone direct me to a stock rom, prefer CSPIRE but will try any other rom to get me back up and running.

This post has the right xml (the original is busted I think), but the op has the RSD program that should get you in the right direction.
