[Q] Camera to be ported - HTC Desire S

i'am currently using CM-7.1.0 RC1 on my DS.
I want to port the original HTC camera app to my current ROM. Is it possible???

I think it is not possible since original HTC camera uses sense framework, and it's not present in CM7

[Q] Using sense 3/3.5 camera in sense 4

Tried to find out, is that possible? Sense 3 and 3.5 got nice camera applications, in desire S. So if i install sense 4, is it possible use camera apk from earlier sense's?
Sorry stupid question, if asked earlier.
No, you can't. Camera doesn't work at all in sense 4 yet.
It seems that Cyanogen based on ICS has camera, but semi-functional.
Thanks. Hope HTC keeps hurry on sense 4
I always wondered why is it so hard to have working camera on new roms... Does someone know why?

Because HTC had not provided the source code for the kernel yet. The libraries are something that only HTC can provide
Swyped from a primed Desire S
Oh... I thought that since hardware is the same, you could use old libraries from stock sense on ics...

The camera and camcorder are working fine on the latest Cyanogen 9 Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429215 , its pretty much there as a complete Rom now.

[Q] Rom Compile Help; HTC Sense Camera in ICS

I recently downloaded the new ICS rom (aospX) but I'm not a fan of the camera. I was using Cyanogen for a while, but I have yet to find a camera that I like as much as or more than the HTC Sense camera. I have the HTCSenseCamera.apk, but I'm having trouble putting it in the new rom...
Could someone compile the aospX rom with the HTC Sense Camera for me?
I have the HTC Sense Camera below.

I have no idea how to compile and I'm looking for someone to compile this for me... Is there someone that already has it compiled?
you cannot use the sense camera on a non-sense rom. as said you should have searched, there are plenty of threads that already covered this issue. thanks

HTC One S Custom Roms and sense

Hello, I heard that sense 4.0 is GREAT but the stock rom isn't so awesome (its slow and etc).
1) It seems that most of the custom ROMS have Sense 4.0 installed also right? (and the sometimes useful HTC apps which aren't bloatware)
2) Where do we get the stock rom so we can flash back to factory settings? I had a samsung vibrant before and I had to use something called ODIN....
3) I hear the Sense rom that is stock installed has software camera tweaks that makes photos better. Do the custom roms USE it and TWEAK it to make it better or do they leave it out altogether(so the camera photo quality is worse)?
Thanks so much! Just got the phone today! (off contract)

Hello,
i would say that the stock rom isn't really slow... but a custom Rom will unleash your possibilities and give you some really ueseful extras!
1. Yes you are right. Thats because the original Android 4.0 from google is the only alternative (AOSP) wich is portet to other Phones by cynagenmod. But here is the Problem, HTC has not released all off there code. So it is not so easy to get the cynagenmod working stable on the HTC One s. And the most other ROMS like MIUI and so on are based on the cynagenmod. So you will find more ROMs without Sense until the port of the cynagenmod is complete.
2. To get back to the stock Rom you should male a Full clockworkmod Backup before you will flash a custom Rom. So you can easily get back to stock.
3. Thats because off the code HTC didn't puplish. So not every function from the cam is avaliable in the ROMS wich didn't contains the original HTC framework. So ROMs with the AOSP Camera have less functions than the HTC Stock Camera app. But the most Custom Roms uses the HTC camera app. So you can have a custom Rom with all of the Camera options. The Quality of the pictures does not depent to the HTC camera app. The would be some Software filters and so on, but other camera apps have those Filters too. Which one is the Better? Take a DSLR... is my point of view.
TrickDroid and Leedroid perhaps uses the Original Stock Camera app.

[Q]Sense 4.5 camera on sense 5 rom?

im using the most recent version of magio and i love it but i HATE the camera that theyre using now. is there any way to flash a sense 4.5 camera on to it and have it work or no?
I'm not sure if that's possible, Sense apps are tied heavily into the Sense framework, and into the Sense version they're shipped with.

Same here, I use the viper rom and since moving to sense 5 the camera is no longer as good as it should be. Did you find a fix for this or a way to port the 4+ camera to sense 5?

Request for stock sense camera app

Hello if someone would kindly give me the apk file or link to the stock camera app, that would be nice. Sorry if this is a repost or shouldn't be in this section.
You probably need to be a bit more specific, which version of the app are you after? They differ with each Sense version. Also, why do you want it? If you're running a Sense ROM you should already have it, if you're not running a Sense ROM you won't be able to use it because it requires Sense framework.

Didn't know I needed sense framework. I'm not on a sense rom. I wanted the latest version of the camera because the camera app in my friends HTC one m7 had some really cool editing features. Thanks anyway.
I agree that original sense camera app is the best, simple and with good options. Could not find others apps with AOSP roms that can match it.

The Google camera, Snap Camera, and Camera FV-5 are all easily as good as the Sense camera.
