[Q] Sd booster app closes on display lock? - HTC Sensation

Noob here, sd booster app has to be running on the background right?
I have tried different SD booster app, no luck. Every time I lock the phone it closes down. I notice that after I unlock the phone the sd booster app isnt running anymore (should autostart?)
For now Im using tasker to autorun it but it overrides the lockscreen function quite annoying.
Do I need sd booster? I'm trying to squeeze as much speed/power as I can on my phone all suggestions are welcome

If you are talking about this SD Booster
https://market.android.com/details?id=de.mehrmann.sdbooster
Then it doesn't have to be running in the background for it to work. Just set the cache size to 1024 or whatever value you think is best then click apply. I have tried this app before and my 8 GB class 6 and class 2 went as high as 10 mb/s write speed, but that was before I unrooted my device and stayed stock with just the s-off

Make sense. Thanks!!!

SD Card Read Fix

Has anyone tried this script for the MT4G?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010807
Feed back? Can't get it to work for Glacier. 128 comes back after reboot.
SD Speedboost
Anybody try if this app does the same thing?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.vaelek.sdspeedboost
That app works fine. Just pick the cache size and check the set on boot and let it run.

I just tried this on my MT4G (cm7-rc4).
1. Kept reverting back to 128 after boot
2. Weird behavior on the app drawer (LauncherPro). After rebooting, touch app drawer; app drawer does NOT display, but the home icon appears over the app drawer button (can see both) and the phone is temporarily locked up, until I rotate the phone (between portrait/landscape), and it clears up, but keeps repeating that behavior.
I removed the app. May try the "SD Card Speed Booster" app...or do it manually via init.d.
Cheers!

That bug has nothing to do with sdcard patch. LPP is buggy as hell. I get that bug quite frequently myself.

Isn't it stated in the article that it reverts back to 128 after stock? When I changed it a little notification always came up dating the file was backed up, so I'm assuming it backs itself up and restores itself automatically.
Using the sd card speed reading app the article suggested I noticed a tiny improvement, but nothing worth changing. I have a class 6, 16gb card, fyi.
Edit: this is the article I'm referring to

Ive tried this trick and really didnt notice a difference
first tested with stock 128KB
second I tested the 2048KB
then I tried the 4096KB with pretty much the same results 10MB write and 82MB read, forgot to take a pic tho
these tests were done using an ADATA 16GB class 6 sd card
i've got t to work manually, but the results are inconsistent.
I've been using the app and it works great. My Gallery 3D loads much faster. I have a 8 GB class 6 Transcend MicroSD card that shouldn't take long to load images, yet i have to wait for the image to pixilate before review in the camera app (after snapping an image with CM7). With this app, it loads immediately.

[Q] SD-Card Apps Bug?

Hi there!
I think I discovered a bug, which as I can see occurs also to other none Sensation phones.
When I put a shortcut on the mainscreen, from an app which I installed on the SD-Card, after a reboot or shutdown the app Logo is replaced by the standard Android Logo and I can't start the app via the shortcut anymore. I have to delete it and then place the app again from the app-drawer on the mainscreen to get it work again.
Does someone else experience the same problem?
Cheers
Yeah that's happened to me too.

I've experienced the first part where the android icon is displayed until the contents of the SD card are loaded ... it takes a minute and then the normal app icon is loaded

How many minutes does it take exactly? Because I didn't wait longer than maybe 2 or 3 minutes.
I think I'll send an e-mail to HTC to let them know about this problem.
Cheers

it's a common problem. nothing to worry about.
When android phones first bootup and icon is status bar says sd is preparing, during this time the icon for apps on sd is incorrect, but should be fixed once sd is prepared by OS.
SD card bug
I'm having the same issue, picked up the Sensation yesterday. It doesn't matter how long you wait, the apps never recover. You have to remove the icons from the home screen. Plus apps that use a database stored on the SD will not work continuously, such as Touchdown from Nitrodesk. Other than this highly annoying bug, its a nice phone.
is this a common issue? i know that the OS has to mount the SD card and wait for a bit, but i waited all day and the icons are still screwed up. i had the G2 and had apps on the sd card and they load up fine after a few minutes.
would this be caused by the type/class of sd card? i have a 16gb class 10. the apps load up fine just the icons all look the same

Same here. On my wildfire it changes back to normal. But my sensation doesnt change back.
Have you reported this to TMO and HTC? Any response?
Yep, happens all the time. The recent update didn't resolve it.
There's a workaround however - you don't need to re-create the shortcut or anything, just go to Settings->Applications->Manage->All, scroll to HTC Sense (there would be two, we need the first one with a clock as a logo) and force close it. Press Home, HTC Logo appears, bam! Your icons are back. Highly annoying.

well its not the fone issue nor sd card...its app compatibility issue... most apps were designed for froyo...but now running them on 2.3.3 they waork on sd-card as well but their shortcuts do not identify them after restart coz they do not have exact icon update path...its an appp issue ...till its resolved plz keep apps on fone....do not worry u need to work hard to finish 1 gig by apps....and plz dt ever think apps on fone mk it slower...use advance task killer as well....
im just going to put the apps on the phone instead of sd card...until htc does an update, because when i used the gingerbread custom rom on the g2 it had no problem putting apps on sd card.
yeah happens to me too. Just kill sense to force it to reload and that fixes it ... until the the next reboot

[Q] App2sd causes boot loop issue

Guys see when i move my apps to the sd card with app2sd or any other program when i reboot my phone the home screen appears and then it does the media scanning and after that it boots continuously 5-10 times and stops after a factory reset. Anybody else having this issue. Please help!
I've heard that not all apps are compatible with app2sd. try moving them all back to where they were and move one at a time until it happens. take note of that app, move it back, and continue until you find all apps that cause this to happen. or, just don't use it. those are the only two options I know

Thanks Supergaijin! I do not use the app now! Do u remember u helped me to root my phone and then it caused boot loop. It was because of app2sd!
wow, at least it was a simple fix. sorry you gotta keep your stuff on the phone, tho
I install games and app too.almost alll app force to external sd card (except have related with the widget and system running)..no fc and reboot at all..
Later i add screen shot to prove..
Now i cant use usb connect to pc coz i testing battery performance now.

I use Force2SD.apk(is root app) app to force all app to external sd..This can save your internal phone storage..
App2sd.apk some app cannot to external sd..No titanium at all..
thanks, that info will help those that were trying to use app2sd but finding errors like android crazy (not me)
not use app2sd.
i never had this issue using sam lus app2sd but im not sure also it was working at all! i mean i can see the app size reduce, and usb sdevice has the application but i didnt have any bootloop...

I too have this issue... I've been pretty aggressive about moving apps first with Apps2SD, but also with Titanium. I've now removed Apps2SD but can't shake the reboot issue. I've found that with the phone in Airplane mode, the reboots are minimized and the phone ultimately does settle... but its going to be tough to figure out whats causing the reboots.
Any ideas, other than brute iteration

[Q] Out of Memory

Stock, unrooted, still locked, as it came from the factory One S:
Do you ever find that when you close an app and go back to the launcher (Rosie), Rosie has been purged from memory and needs to reload? Takes about 10 seconds with the "loading" animation before you can do anything. Pretty poor really for a standard setup. Will be rooting at the weekend, but any other tips to stop this happening?

Yes I have also seen this a few times, especially if I had a lot of tabs open in the browser then go back to the home screen.
the only time i got this, was when i was disabling bloatware apps in settings
speaking of memory, I have total memory of 701160kb, with 34684kb free according to vellamo system info. is this correct? I thought we should have 1GB of ram??

exactly what i also thought, but presumed when it says total it included the system usage.

Without a proper analysis of what happened, It's quite difficult to say if this is a right behaviour of Android. Android handles the memory itself, because it is based on JAVA. When an application needs more memory, Android tries to allocate to it, sometimes this could mean taking away the memory of Rosie (homescreen) if it is needed.
This could happen regardless how many memory you have. In theory if you run a lot of apps at the same time without closing them, Android may do so. So no need to worry if this was what happened to you. However, if it happens a lot even if you don't have big apps running at background, it may indicate something is not quite right. I don't know what it would be cos this is IMO at the software level so should happen to everyone and be a potential bug.
Rooting the phone and removing bloatware may be benefitial cos you get rid of lots of annoying background tasks which take x amount of memory.
Im also having this problem.
I tryed close all apps, now its 618 used and 67 mb free.
In the list (under apps - running) only few apps are listed, and they make only total of ~95mb, where are other 500 used?
After reboot +- same apps showed, only using 100mb and toatly 350used 340free...
What kind of phones do you guys have? Branded and locked by operator?

[Q] Corrupted internal SD card?

Hi,
I suppose the internal SD card storage on my GT-I9105P is somehow corrupted.
I'm running a prerooted I9105PXXUBNG1. The root apps are as follows:
AdFree
Aptoide
CacheDownload2SD
Digitizer Booster
FolderMount
Internet Booster
LagFix (fstrim) Premium
Performance Booster
Prepay Widget Lite
RAM Booster
Root Browser
SD Maid
SDCard Booster (can it be the culprit?)
Seeder
USB Mass Storage
Wanam Xposed
Xposed Installer
Xtreme Booster
The internal storage disappeared from Total Commander home screen, though it can be acceseed from the root directory. Also, media scanner is having problems with the internal SD. Any newly added notifications and stuff in general is not being detected. It's happened out of nowhere, I haven't been tampering with anything before this just happened. I had the same problem so I made a factory reset but the problem came back. I think it's dismounted, nonetheless it's rather some sort of logical issue, I doubt a hardware failure.
Another seemingly storage-related problem is that the launcher as well as the app drawer tend to reload themselves completely nearly every time, meaning, that every time I unlock the phone or go back to the home screen it is completely blank and takes long seconds to load, while the app drawer is being loaded separately even longer. It pisses me off!!!
How do I fix that? And if I'm to reflash the phone, how do I perform a low-level format on the internal storage?
I want to get rid of these problems once and for good.
I appreciate your help and thank you in advance.
