Streaming help on my Infuse 4G with a MacBook Pro/Lion OS - Samsung Infuse 4G

Trying for dear life to get my new phone to run hulu.com, I've followed every ones instructions (about 4 or 5 people's) can't get it. Got the superoneclick "superuser" installed along with the "root explorer" and did the first 2 steps in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119530
got hulu mobile on the phone
did this step---> StageFright removal (One time install only):
This is from Adrynalyne. Thanks so much for this fix! Took me all day to track this file that is phone neutral and test!
1.Extract all files from StageFright.zip attached to this post
2.Copy all files extracted to /system/lib
3.Reboot and you are set forever.
Note: Confirmed to work with m.youtube.com app and hulu and movies. YAY!
now this is the killer for me, I can't find the "/data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib" file anywhere? I really am screwing this up with my idiotic n006 head. I was stuck in iphone world too long.
Also I have a macbook pro running Lion OS if that mades it even harder (seems to) any help would be so so so great, I think I did it all right, but I need to find that file so I can copy the hacked flash into it!!
this is the step I have problems with!
Component 3: Hacked flash to work with Infuse 4G
Excerpt instructions for Infuse (Needs to be redone everytime you reboot):
1.Update Flash to current Market version (10.3.185.23)
2.Extract libflashplayer.so from libflashplayer.zip attached to this post
3.Copy libflashplayer.so to /sdcard
4.Copy libflashplayer.so from /sdcard to /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib using root explorer, adb, or a terminal. I recommend making an extra copy of the modified libflashplayer.so in case it's replaced on reboot.
5.Make sure the permissions for libflashplayer.so are rwxr-xr-x (chmod 755).
Did I not install my superuser or root explorer right? Is there anyone who could help me trouble shoot my seemingly simple problem?
Thank you alll so much I have been reading this forum for about 8-10 hours since last night and learned alot, but feel lost down the rabbit hole

[REQUEST] Unlocked Teeter

Teeter is one of the few games I play on my Evo (when I'm not playing Angry Birds or Drop), but recently, I decided to switch between MIUI and CM for a while.
At first, when I couldn't find it in the Market, I figured I would just copy it from Myn's /system/app/ folder and install it manually in CM. Needless to say, it didn't work.
Shortly after, I found an unlocked version in, I think, the MyTouch 3g forum, but it's too low res to play. So, I was hoping that it wouldn't be too much trouble for someone here to unlock the Evo apk for me. I tried to attach the original apk, but for some reason, I couldn't upload it from my phone, so here's a link to my dropbox.
Edit: now i can post links
http://db.tt/WD1OJ2F
I'm flashing from myns warm to miui and didn't realize teeter isn't on the market. Have you had any luck finding a version for any rom?
I found a version for Desire, but Amon RA won't flash it. I just resigned it with signapktic, and I'm about to test it.
weehooherod said:
Take the tether game out of /system/app from a rom that has it. Push it over to /system/app on your new rom. Just plug in your phone and run the adb commands.
adb remount
adb push C:\wherever\you\put\the\file.apk /system/app
adb reboot
Or just install Root Explorer ($2) and copy the tether.apk file from your memory card and then go to the system app folder. Push the R/W button at the top right of the screen, it should now say R/O. Then paste the apk inside that /system/app folder and reboot.
Either way, it will install itself.

I think the main problem is that the stock teeter game checks for Sense-related files. I could be wrong, though. I'll try your way and report back. I had some file zipping problems (ES file explorer messes up the directory structure), so signapktic didn't quite work.

tether.apk is not the teeter game, that is the app file for the tethering application for the sprint hotspot.

[Q] Fancast.com working?

Bump. I'm curious if fancast can be used on the gtab. That might seal the deal for me.
Once I did the Adobe Flash Player hack (see below), Fancast.com videos started working for me. They are the same instructions for the Hulu flash player hack. After the change I still wasn't able to get Hulu working, but I read that others have.
These instructions assume you are using a Windows PC
The flash hack requires you to download a HEX editor. I used XVI32.
1. Using Root Explorer, copy your libflashplayer.so file from the gtab to your PC. The libflashplayer.so file is found in /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib
2. Use a hex editor to search and locate the word AND (in UPPER case). AND will be by itself in the file. Skip when AND is included as part of a phrase (e.g. XXX_AND_XXX). It's found fairly far down the file. You'll know when you are there because AND will be listed right before the version of the Adobe Flash Player you are using (in my case, I'm using version 10.1.120.5). Once found, change AND to WIN for Windows. Then, save the change.
3. Copy the updated libflashplayer.so to your gtab in a temporary location.
4. Use Root Explorer to backup (copy) the original libflashplayer.so file to libflashplayer.bak You can do this in the same directory.
5. Replace the original libflashplayer.so (/data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib) with the edited file. Update the permissions to the updated libflashplayer.so file to rwxr-xr-x
6. Reboot gtab.

100% Working Hulu on Infuse 4G

After working on this all day and bricking once or twice, I finally found the files needed....
YOU NEED TO INSTALL ALL 3 Components for it to work perfectly if you are on Froyo. Else just Component 1 and 3
Component 1 (Hulu Mobile App)
Install Mobile Hulu.apk attached here as well. Easy Peazy (One Time Only)....
Skip Component 2, if you have a GB ROM. If you have no idea if you have a GB ROM (i.e. Serendipity, Justice Roms, Infusion 2.0+, Anything with Hellraiser in it), then you really shouldnt' be modifying stuff......
Component 2: For slow voices fix
StageFright removal (One time install only):

5.Make sure the permissions for libflashplayer.so are rwxr-xr-x (chmod 755).
NOTE:
FOR MOBILE HULU BUT if you stall all 3 components, you can play hulu directly from the site.
LANDSCAPE MODE WORKS FINE! Go to settings | select orientation | select any and you are done!

Done the flash part again without rebooting, video plays now but with slow audio. Any fix for that? Also can't be watched in landscape?

If you reboot you need to do the flash thing again. The mobile app does not play in landscape, BUT you can go to hulu's website and play the movies directly from there through the browser!
I think you can play Hulu on browser?

Just tried these instructions on my freshly installed bionix rom and have 0 problems..... Please just follow the directions and let me know!
Remember you can watch hulu on any browser as well. The mobile app is just like a short cut so its easier to find.
LANDSCAPE works fine as well

[MOD] GB Wifi improvement! [CWM Flashable Added!]

Hey guys! I've been mucking around in a few ROMs lately, and I've found quite a substantial wifi improvement in this-
**If you are running a ROM based on official kj6 you won't see much improvement if at all, as its based on
it. Its mostly for the people who like their pre final roms too much to switch.**
**Users on 2.3.4 and below are reporting boot loop issues after install, I am looking into a resolution. Roms based on 2.3.5 and up should be fine with this! **
Attached will be two zipped files, the .zip is a CWM package, the .7z is a more raw package you can manually push, or insert into a ROM.
CWM: Download the .zip to your SD, Flash like any other package.
Without flashing:
Replace the wifi folder in System/etc with the one in the .7z below. (You could use Root Explorer or Super manager; Thanks nazcalito)

in case anyone wants detailed instructions, here's how i did it.
downloaded androzip to extract .7z file.
used ES explorer. root and system access (mount as rw)
rename existing /system/etc/wifi folder to /system/etc/wifi.bk
copy the extracted wifi folder to /system/etc
long press and chose property
change permission to rwx r-x r-x (to match old folder)
unmount system access (in settings menu of ES explorer)
reboot
wifi scanner used to show -95db at far edge of upstairs corner of house. now get -75. similarly for front and back yard
Great work finding this.

Its that simple! I've seen incredible improvements using this with the Octane and BSGS4g ROMs. I typically get ~1-2 bars in my room at home, I've got 4 now. I normally can't even reach the front door at work without dropping wifi, today I was outside about 30 feet from the doors with 2 bars. Just examples. Anyone care to test this out on other ROMs??
Because it is almost a mandatory statement, though EXTREMELY unlikely...
I am not responsible for any damage you may do to your device.
Does this improve kj6? Or just pre final roms that had crap wifi.

Is there a way to apply this to existing installed rom? without having to flash the rom again.
Nonetheless thanks for your work!

I was going to say the same, thanks! ;P
ES file explorer has a root feature in it's settings too
I actually see a big difference with the official kj6 rom. With that said, would I be able to extract the files from that into the other roms? What rom is the wifi based off of that you have here?
If i were to replace this new wifi folder after the changed with my old wifi folder back up will the changes be reversed and do i have to restart after doing this?
I applied your wifi folder (delete and copy) to ICBINB KI3. Wifi now turns on, searches for about 30 seconds, finds nothing, then turns wifi off.
Any ideas?
-before someone trolls, yes there is wifi present.

I was having that issue when I was just copying the contents and pasting it into the file, instead of just dragging and dropping it =X No clue what the crap caused it for me.
Also which method did you do? The flashing or pushing it with an explorer? You may need to reboot after pushing it with an app (Haven't personally tested it that way)

[solved] crashing accessibility app

To the Admins, I'm not entirely sure where you guys would want this thread...troubleshooting seemed to be the most sensible.
all right everyone, I'll explain here how I fixed this, but keep in mind I have the ATT LG G2 running KitKat with TWRP 2.7.0.0 and I'm rooted. I only recommend this for advanced users. If you aren't an advanced user, well, make sure you have a backup. I'm sure there was a faster way to fix this, but my goal wasn't to find the fastest way initially, it was to find a working way. For example, you could just ADB everything. You could also, assuming you know how to use your OS to search that deep into the device files, done a rename, copy/paste etc. etc. Not all devices are made equal, so be CAREFUL! BTW, I was in debugging mode + charge only.
WARNING: I AM ONLY OFFERING THIS FOR INSIGHT TO ADVANCED USERS THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING - I DON'T OFFICIALLY RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE DO THIS. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TRANSMUTATION FROM LG G2 TO BRICK.
Here's what I did:
1) I opened accessibility while hooked up to the debugger in Android Studio to see that it was producing a Null Pointer Exception.
2) I have a slightly modified version of the TOT file so that I can run TWRP and still be rooted in KitKat.
3) I am rooted, so I used Root Explorer to search for accessibility and found that the file is called "LGSettingsAccessibility.apk" and .odex - it's under (WITH ROOT ONLY) /system/priv-app/
4) I searched for a system dump copy online...I found this site: http://hunterspad.com/Domains/StorageCow/Xda/Users/garyd9/Extracted System/priv-app/
I found that by typing "LGSettingsAccessibility.apk" and initially found a Google Drive version but it was posted in September of 2013 - unlikely to be the odex and apk from KitKat hahaha. I used a Google Search that searched custom range between Feb 1st and today. I found 2 links, one of which is the above.
NOTE: I don't recommend anyone do the following unless you KNOW what you are doing and definitely have a backup to restore to if things go wrong
5) I sent the link for each file to myself on Google Hangouts. I used Hangouts to download the March 14th upload of the LGAccessibilitySettings.apk and LGAcessibility.odex
5.5) I copied each of the original files (.apk and .odex) from /system/priv-app/ to my /sdcard/LGBackup folder I created using the Root Explorer app.
6) I went into the app "Root Explorer" again after downloading both files (DID NOT INSTALL IT, though it probably won't let you anyway). I checked both files and copied them.
7) I went back to /system/priv-app/ and renamed the existing files to be replaced with the extension ".bak" so that the system no longer points to those files (NOTE: Root Explorer asked me to remount as R/W (read and write vs. read-only) a good feature of root explorer to be in read-only by default; dangerous territory.
8) Bottom right corner of Root Explorer it was waiting for me to "Copy Here" when arriving at the location where I wanted to copy the files: /system/priv-app/ and after copying them I decided to be a fool and install the apk and it told me something like "app not found" or something.
9) FINALLY went into Settings and touched Accessibility and VOILA! It worked! A lot of luck involved - the odexed and apk files may not have been the proper version. I could have checked with relative ease (though likely time-consuming) by using some of my android dev skills/utilities.
WARNING: I AM ONLY RECOMMENDING THIS FOR ADVANCED USERS THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
Thanks to garyd9 on XDA - without your uploaded files on storage cow, I couldn't have fixed this problem!
