Only reason we can possibly think of for posting this AND not expalining the results of running it, is YOU may wish to sit back and LOL at those who run this and can't get ROOT again?

Thnx bro, I messed with the NV items and need to restore to default..
IM putting it on the cricket network..

Cause this is the official ruu.exe file used to resotre your HTC Evo back to stock. 3.29, the latest update that just came out.

Actually, it's only been out since 9/24. They pushed out this update on that date...it was rumored an update was coming about a week before, but 9/3 is way too early

Also, this is the first time I have seen an actual RUU for 3.29. All other threads that reference the RUUs only have the 3.26 RUUs.

Yep - this is the first posting on the 3.29 RUU.... The stores didn't even have this as I got a replacement EVO yesterday from a Sprint Repair center and they gave it to me with 3.26 on it and I had to apply the OTA myself....

Whosdaman. Thanks bro! This is especially helpful if you need to get your Evo back to stock. Always like to have a copy of the original.

Sorry for a silly question but do you just Flash this to lose your Root and go back to stock?

I think you still need to S-On if you really want to go all the way back, but this removed root for me.

Make sure you follow the directions. You need to have it connected to HTC Sync.

Maybe not the best place for this question, but where do people get these? Do you have to have a mole with HTC or Sprint (or Sprint vendors like Best Buy)?

I'm a Sprint Rep, I have access to all of the Official ROMs before alot of people. I also know a source who has access to the Overland Park Server which has all of the test and official ROMs on it. Like Froyo for the Hero and Epic...which have yet to be finished. (And might not be released for Hero)

So I rooted and I heard there's a new radio and GPS update ..
I want to flash those updates but I don't have the files...
Does anyone have the links to Download the file???

Did you even look on these boards? There's a bunch of threads about the leaked radio already. It doesn't fix much anyway. I haven't noticed the slightest difference. GPS lock still takes forever.

Just for the OP, after doing the radio update my GPS works a hell of a lot better but thats basically it. Verizon is having some trouble with their network so if thats what you were hoping to have fix your SOL for now.

Can you install the official OTA update (that is supposed to be coming out any day) from Verizon if you are rooted?

Rooting 2.3.3// 4.24.651.1

Latest Rom evo 4g is 2.3.3/4.24.561.1. So I wanted to try a downgrade back to 2.2/4.22.561.2 earlier software, then root it. Then proceed to upgrade back to 2.3.3 and I know for a fact that the software will not show the same, fact! the link below was intresting when a viewer was asking for help, and I had tried but limit the info he/she share until I had told him/her "that you forgot to metiong your phone is ROOTED?" Thats why the app taking you back to the main menu, your not on 4.24.651.1 that was a fix for smoother playback issues?
But to get back to original software I would just upload it to SD zipped and flash it from the recovery menu, I hope I am making sense but the goal is to get 2.3.3 rooted with all of its contents working, wifi teth, 4G, GPS etc; Keep in mind that my device right now is up to date but unrooted. Anyone think possible??

I'm using the XDA app, so all I can tell you is that you're in inspire 4G general.
If you're visiting by way of a normal browser the "breadcrumb" forum heading should be up near the top.
I'm not sure I understand what the big mystery is.

Is there a root yet for it? I am going from a HTC Inspire 4G and i have all my stuff backed up and i would love for this to work.

yes i am willing to pay money to the person that can get me out of this 4.0.4 unrootable situation i am in. in the process of the one click i updated and am now stuck.
and being as this is the only snapdragon ONE X, most of the big names are working on the tegra phone. i wish i had the intelligence to figure out what was necessary to root this thing myself

I'm right there with you on that, maybe there is a way to downgrade to 1.85 and then re-root from there or something? I was planning on unlocking the bootloader this week until I screwed up and downloaded the OTA without thinking.

can we just start reposting the intro video that everyone should have watched at some point and (apparently) revert too more often than not? it's one thing to miss info available in a general google search, it's another to just come here and clearly not look for the answer you're requesting.

Plus the only time you would be stuck ia if you had not rooted before the OTA. Otherwise you have a SuperCID and it is my understanding that you can still root

Nope. The Hboot is different. You're stuck, unless you had an unlocked bootloader. If you just had root, or bought the device with 2.2 installed, you're SOL until a new root method is found.
