[Q] Launcher Pro Plus App Drawer Shortcut on Homescreen - Android Apps and Games

hi guys!
i want to completly remove my dock, and add the app drawer button directly on the homescreen. but i didnt find a shortcut or an activity for this.
using Launcher Pro Plus and Desktop Visualizer.
any ideas?

I don't use LP so I can't help you... but if you want to get really funky and go one step further, you can install Prox without even using a shortcut (as long as you have a proximity sensor).
Not what you asked for I know

wow that looks pretty cool, im gonna play with it
but i think i takes much battery....

Only when the screen is on. I use a Tasker profile to turn my screen off using the proximity sensor. It really doesn't use much battery at all.

kk, i give it a try
thx bro!

I didn't think LP let you remove the dock completely. If you try ADW, you can do exactly that--that"s the way I use it. I specify no dock, five icon rows, and put an app drawer shortcut on the home screen.

sure, I can set the dock (icons) blank. thats all

Got it--I guess you end up with an empty row at the bottom of the screen. Didn't even think of that.

Even better: set your swipe down gesture to hide dock, go to homescreen, swipe down and hide it, then go back and change swipe down to whatever you want to. Presto: no dock!

For me the easiest solution is what I mentioned above. Use ADW and specify no dock in the settings. I'm using Launcher 7 at the moment--no dock there either.

my problem is not the dock...
I want to set the app drawer to the homescreen. and I want to stay on LPP (resize widgets).
I just want the app drawer button "in the middle of the screen".

That's easy then. iirc it's Long press Homescreen/Add Shortcut/Launcher Activity/Open App Drawer.
Or something similar.

Same problem
I just google it to find how to add app drawer shortcut on launcher pro and find this link. I am using ADW Launcher EX but for some strange reason it can't add widgets over MIUI roms and also do not support MIUI icons, It use it owns icon pack so for that reason I install launcher pro, I can add widgets with it and it uses MIUI icons. Strange case here too no way to add app drawer shortcut

Launcher pro beta in the Market.

There is a new launcher in the market right now that im using it works great.it called launcherpro.
I would install "home switcher"also in the market. That way while you are setting up your new layout you can go back and fourth. Without being interrupted by that a default prompt.
Launcher pro has single tap of home button that brings up the leap view, and it also has pinch to leap. With added gesture of dialer, contacts, internet, and messages at the bottom of every page.
Also it has a app launcher similar to the N1. Without the 3d cube effect.
Very responsive worth a try, only downfall is none of the htc widgets work while using this launcher. Bc their widgets are tired in to it.
I use the flip clock from the market, its customizable.and dolphin hd with their bookmarks widget and the friendstream app , that way it still has a sense feel to it.
UPDATE: Dev updated the home button to have the option of going to default screen or to the leap view. Also has auto rotation wich is something sense does not allow.

Its definitely intetesting, I just don't know how long I could deal with missing things like the friendstream widget.
That being said, I really like the app drawer. Its very awesome!

Exactly! Gotta have the sense widgets. I use for HelixLauncher 2 for about 5min then I have to switch back to sense.
You can pull from your app drawer the friendstream app, that's really all I miss, the sense widgets look great but are too big for my liking. If you use beautiful widgets from their clock you can set shortcuts to, calender, clock alarm, and weather.

i downloaded launcherpro. i only have 3 screens, unlink with sense when i have like 5 or something. also i have no idea what this app drawer, maybe its the menu button thing that opens all your apps, but if it is its the same thing as sense except cool animation.
also side note, im using chompsms widget, i saw some pics of someone using it and it had pic of the person in the widget, do i need to donate to get that or what?
It has three by default. Hit the menu button then preferences you can have up to seven screens.

Found it, downloaded it, used it, deleted it.
If I diddnt have sense, I'd be all over this. But for me, it just seems a little redundant. I personally, prefer the real thing.

Question about adw launcher

How do I add more app shortcuts in the box at the bottom of the screen, by default there is only 3 spaces, how do you add more?
Thanx
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
go to ADW settings and UI Settings.
Disable DESKTOP DOTS and select SECONDARY ACTION BUTTONS.
That should do the trick
Or you can swipe the app drawer button up to reveal the dock bar.. You can add as many apps as you want to that.

Thanks for the help

how do you get the dock draw back? EDIT: nevermind, i found out, its harder to work out with no app shortcuts in the dock bar.
Also is there a way to scroll down the app drawer like the original Home Launcher?
i believe it scrolls across by default.
found solution.
go into adw settings, > drawer settings > disable horizontal drawer.

ah thanks for that, ive switched from HelixLauncher to this now
Don't no whether its just me again but, I feel that adw launcher drains my phone quicker than the standard home. Anyone else experiencing the same? Or I'm i just being paranoid about the battery life!? :0s lol

I've been using ADW for a while, and helix before that.. And I don't have any concerns about battery drain on adw.

what about the difference of battery time between helix launcher, adw and the built-in home? before update, helix improved the battery dramatically, what about it after firmware update?

[Q] App for Launching App Drawer (w/o using rosie)

Does anyone know of an app that can launch your app drawer?
Ive tried Desktop Visualizer, but it doesnt give me the option to launch the app drawer. i can only do it using the rosie.
I wanted to know if i could basically create an icon on a home screen to launch the drawer so i could use a completely hidden rosie.

Launcher pro or adw launcher can do this.

Yup! Just long press and add a "Launcher Action"... They will let you customise the icon as well
I prefer ADWLauncher EX the paid version

where do i long press? im using LPP and desktop visualizer but i still cant figure out how to use an icon to launch the app drawer
On an empty space on one of your home screens... as it you would add a widget or a shortcut.
Works fine on ADW Launcher Pro.
Greetz
still no luck. i dont see where LPP or DV gives me the option to add a 'launcher action'
when i long press the homescreen, i get the standard Shortcuts, Widgets, LPP Widgets, Folders, and Wallpapers
where do i go from here?

I assume you need the ADW launcher for the extra options.
Greetz
In adw just press and hold the launcher icon on the bottom bar and drag it up to the screen
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA Premium App
If you have LPP or ADW you don't need DV...
I think LauncherPro you would: long press home screen / add shortcut / actions / launcherPro / LauncherPro (app list in small type)
Hope that helps.
Though it is not really the "App drawer" its just a list... ADW actually gives you far more customisable options. Try the free one first if you like

In Launcher Pro, keep your finger down on one of the mi ddle buttons on each dock. It will say Edit dock shortcut.
goto change shortcut --> App Drawer.
Done

Sorry, ignore me, I see what you're trying to do. I'm not sure LP can do this. I can;t see an activity which replicates opening the app drawer. You might ask the developer. He's pretty good at responding.
I have your answer.
Adw.
Search settings for hide bottom dock.
Search settings. Use swipe up gesture for app drawer.
Done
I think I'm having the same problem here.
I was trying to launch the app drawer from the homescreen, not from the dock, but LPP doesn't have that option or perhaps I just don't know how to do it?
Using DV also doesn't help.
Any ideas?

How to remove a widget- running CM7

I have CM7 on my inspire and i put Newsweek Mobile widget on my homescreen and I expanded it to fit the whole screen, but now I can't remove it. I long-press the widget and a trashcan shows up, but i can't move it into the trashcan. The widget doesn't get highlighted or anything. I uninstalled the app because I thought that would help but now there's just a "problem loading widget" thing on the screen and the same problem occurs. Is there any way to remove a widget from the backend?

long press and release, a pop up menu should slide in with a "remove" option on it. i assume you are using the stock launcher ADW which comes with cyan 7.
Do you have lock background on?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
I'm using launcher pro plus. The long press thing doesn't work. And what do you mean a lock background?
--
Sent from my HTC Inspire Faux-Gee using XDA App
This can be closed. I figured it out. I changed the number of rows in Launcher Pro Plus to 8, then I was able to long-press the widget and drag it to the trashcan. Then I just changed my rows back to 5.

Widgets on the lockscreen

Is it possible to change a app icon on the lockscreen to a widget?
more importantly the wifi hotspot settings button.
I think if you include it on the bottom of the 4 places that HTC uses, they should appear on the lockscreen
sent using HTC1S
The lockscreen only shows what app icons are currently in your dock, and since you can't put widgets in your your dock it won't work.
Try widgetlocker app if its something you really need. It's a paid app but worth it, lots of cool options.

Reread the OP. He asked of WIDGETS cam be put on lockscreen, not app icons.
Sent from my HTC One S running Axiom S
Use WidgetLocker from Play market. It might have that feature.
Right now I'm using Notification Toggle from the Play store.. and there are several other apps that do the same thing.. Lets you put many different settings in your notification pull-down which you can access from lock screen
