USB dock activation - Desire Accessories

HI all,
A guy I work with bought a USB cable from ebay which activated the dock function on his desire... I wanted it.. so did he
I've had a read around an no one seems to have used or found anything?? from what I've read docking is archived by a 20ohm resistor across 2 pins???
Has anyone else got a cable that does this?? if so where did you get it??

Headphone with charge cable

Hi all!
Does anyone have a solution do put headphone and to charge the mobile phone at the same time ?
Thanks by advance for all your answer !
Uhm, i think you cant. Because they both need the same slot.
But there are video-adapters with charge-slot! so it might be possible

so this is what google brought up with "headphones charge htc"
eBay
there are adapters on eBay for just a few dollars. The have a 11pin headphone plug and 5pin charger plug. I have one of them and they are working very nice. Highly recommended.
Just look on eBay for a Diamond Adapter or something like that.

Got 2, works perfectly. Link will eventually die, search on ebay for "HTC USB STEREO"

[Q] DIY USB Cable?

Does any one know what the pinout/components of the USB kit are? I want usb otg but I would rather have a dock cable with a usb female connection rather than the bulky oem usb kit. I'm thinking of just buying a dock cable and a female usb connector. I am assuming that there is some resistor there that signifies the USB Cable. Any ideas?

Glad someone else is itching for home made cables too. Already got the iron on standby ready to go. After a bunch of link hopping and thread reading, here's the most useful info I've found so far...

I looked at it but I didn't see anything useful. I could use info on the internals of the USB kit. Was there something I missed?
(I awaiting my new multimeter and then I'll order a new soldering iron)
Once all the needed pins are IDed it should be easy to order the plugs and make your own cables for pennies on the dollar or start work on an OTG or other cables.

If anyone is interested, I found the 40-pin connector that is used on the OEM USB cable:

Other OTG cables don't work?

Heya,
I have a tablet stand and the cable delivered in the box doesn't fit under the tablet when on the stand.
That's why I'm thinking about purchasing an angled USB OTG cable.
But here's the thing:
Other OTG cables doesn't seem to work? I already purchased a normal OTG cable (just like the one which was delivered in the box), but that one doesn't function.. Do I have a faulty one or will the out of the box OTG cable be the only one which works properly?
Hi
I bought a few cheap ones on ebay. Angled or straight and all work well on my A700 or Galaxy Note.
Just one decided to die after months in my pocket near knife and keys but that's my fault
I guess you got a faulty one.

Turn the tablet upside down, problem solved!!!!
@Itchiee, possbile, but ugly. Also, I don't think that works with every app out there. Was also curious if somebody else experienced this problem.
@laloutre, thank you for your reply. I think it is a faulty one then It didn't work either with my phone, but I guessed it didn't support OTG. Stupid online company. I also bought a usb hub there which also didn't work..
There are USB connectors/adapters out there that are not specified as OTG compliant; these won't work. I got my OTG cheapie from Amazon & it works perfectly:

Most of the dealers are Hong Kong but a few are in CA. Worth the $2.

{confirmed] "standard" OTG cable not working.

Not sure if this thread should be here or somewhere else.
I suppose this is due to the slimport standard but an OTG cable I know to work with my nexus 7 and galaxy nexus DOES NOT work with the nexus 4. Hope its just a pinout issue and it could be fixed buy purchasing another cable and reworking the wires. Anyone up to tinkering?
I did see a cable listed on eBay to work and left a question for the seller as the cable looks exactly like the one I have, I had my doubts about its ability to work.
Ideas, suggestions, solutions welcome. Would like to have flash drive and usb keyboard / mouse support on this phone.

How to connect an LG to a monitor and mouse to see and access its contents

Hi all. I apologize if I am posting in the wrong place. I promise I tried to figure to get it right.
Here are my questions.
Does anyone have an ideas how I can access the contents of my LG without purchasing a new screen and digitizer? The existing is shattered and unfortunately the phone is swiped locked.
I have an HDMI Adapter that has the right idea but its cable fits Samsung. Will it work if I splice the cable with an end that fits LG?
Thanks!
Why not just buy a hdmi Adapter that works for the device ?
(Or maybe some of those multi adapters that have hdmi and usb, so you could add a keyboard ?)
