No way man . Check out sevenplusabdroid.org . Its a development group that I'm working with that are working on bring apps with the wp7 UI over . We are off to a decent start for a months work and have some talented devs . I have been a long time Android user and just picked up a wp7 device yesterday so we could iron out some details , and I have to say we are on the right track !
So , not an official solution , no . However if you like the metro UI you should find it pretty neat at least .

Porting it to Android phones is illegal, the only exception is porting WP7 to other WinMo phones only....This is the same reason why WebOS can't be ported to other phones, you will get a C&D from Microsoft or worse if you attempt to have the OS on non-Windows phones. WP7, WinMo, WebOS, and iOS are all closed-sourced, unlike android you can't have those OSes on any device.

Please Help Us XDA DEVELOPERS

I am a great fan of XDA-DEVEPOLES forum, I learned many things. I amazed all the time, how they do this?
Anyway I bought a samsung i8910, What I saw that its a really very good phone but only by its hardware, the operating 'Symbian S60 v5' is the worst thing in it.
All the user of this i8910 wants to port new operating like android, maemo or windows in it.
Can you help us? Its funny I know, But if any one can thats you.
Because I know only you all can.

Port Android / WM7 for HD2???

Hi Guys,
This is my first post.... I am firstly thankful to xda team for all their efforts and also to everyone who are working to fine tune WM6 and Android. When will MS learn all this? Damn Windows....(Hope MS is listening)......
Anyway i/everyone am/are totally fed up with WM6... Hope the XDA team is launching Android or WM7 for HTC HD2 (aka LEO) soon... Any NEWS/updates guys????
In short; yes someone (as in a lot of people) is working on both. Welcome to the forums, and check the threads and search function. You will find that threads concerning your questions are quite high in their respective sub-forums. Try and read up before posting, it'll make the stay here quite pleasant. Some people here are tired of answering the same questions over and over, and it'll keep the forums tidy.
very possible but i believe the developers said around end of this year for the android/wp7 on HD2.cant wait......
Well,WP7 is just around the corner.
As for Android,I tried it before but wasn't satisfied because it is maybe interesting at first but later it becomes really boring(Anyway for me).
The HD2's hardware can easily handle WP7 and Microsoft needs to change its mind:just because the HD2 doesn't have a bing key(I think that the problem is about this hardware key.Correct me if I am wrong) this doesn't mean that it is not capable.
@ForceField
Its not just the searchbutton. There are several hardware issues against the "new" mobile concept of MS. Especially the missing sd-card support or better MS don't wan't you to have changeable memory on your device, that might interfere with their "MS marketplace only" app source. That means there has to be much more internal storage in the device itself - like on the iPhone or Palm Pre.
It's definitly easier to become Android on the HD2 since HTC is releasing the nearly similar (hardwarewise) HTC Evo on Sprint - I guess this a nobrainer for the xda-chefs to cook the needed things for that.
microsoft must give an upgrade for htc hd2 because the wm 6.5 is getting boring....some of us loved it but would be great to give a chance to port a wp7 to hd2.. the android operating system is very good too...they made such as good phone as htc hd2 but they gave it away...the next htcs phones doesnt have even sense anymore if i am not doing wrong...after hd2 with sense they throwed away the sense and android came up more famous like HTC Evo or desire..!!!its too bad for such a hi-tech phone to stay forgotten!this phone needs some love so microsoft must give love ;-p and a special gift finally... !!!but at all thanks to god that we have xda-chefs to give us some real dope stuffs to hd2 in nearby ''future''....
ps sorry for my english... ;-p

It is definitely NOT a nobrainer putting Android on the HD2... the EVO may help a little.... but it is not the same hardware as the HD2. The nexus1 is closer hardware-wise to the HD2. They are using the nexus kernel as a starting point for the kernel they've been already working on for months. But they still have alot of work ahead of them. It is not the same as cooking a new rom. They have to port a working linux kernel.
Help......
God.... i am suffering with ORD... please help.

[Q] OS Port Question Thunderbolt (been searching)

I've been searching for this answer but unless I'm using the wrong keywords or maybe the info I need is buried on page 30 I can't seem to find.
Does anyone know if any dev has been able to or has ported "windows phone 7" OS of any version over to the Thunderbolt?
I've asked in a few other areas but got flamed for wanting to overwrite Android so I gave up in the Thunderbolt forums.
If it has been done all I'm asking for is the url, of course I have no problem reading the info.
It wont happen.. It is far to difficult to port at Binary based closed source OS to different hardware.. The windows mobile 6.5 HTC HD2 was an exception as it has the same cpu and gpu etc as most the WP7 devices so was more of a hack than a port..
shame but thats how it is
Thanks for the answer. Was searching Google and getting crazy stuff. Not really wanting to switch to Nokia or T-Mobile. For me having 7 or Mango version would make my business sync issues so much easier. Again Thanks Much.

[Q] ios or windows on android

will ios or windows will ported in android
So many discussions about this. People say no just cause they think android a better os and has more possibilities, and better customization. All in all, it would most likely be reversed.

If you want wm buy the HD2....you got winmo 6.5 and 7, android and other os
I saw that iOS was running on HD2 but im not sure.....but some groups are tryin to put iOS but they need to rewrite all folders and scripts cause its not open-source like android.

:angel:use BOCHS ...
It can be, because if Android was ported on MeeGo, than why not ios on android?
Had you guys searched you would have learned the answer to this in one of the hundreds of threads about this very subject.
IOS is too closed source as is WP. Want more info then refer to the older threads.

No development for 1020 why this forum even created??

I had great roms for windows phone 7.8 for almost all the windows phone's. now what happen? where all the developers go?
with a custom rom, one can easily incorporate the features that are not available in the region or even for the particular model.
what's the problem here? bootloader's cannot be unlocked? as far as i know, window's is an open source like android. rom development is started with windows mobile and android took it from there and now windows is becoming blind like IOS.
not a very good news. hope windows phone will not die on development only went into hibernation.

Hi, WP7 has old WinCE kernel like all WMs. WP8 has the new WinNT kernel like Win8. We (xda devs) know much more about WinCE things than WinNT, so it wasn't really hard to cook WP7 ROMs, but WP8 is an absolutely new story.
I'm sorry to say this, but WP isn't open source, it's closed source.
Microsoft could help a lot by putting WP under open source, but they won't do that (i think).
I think I've answered your question
Have a nice day m
