CP1Q installation options? - Verizon Droid Charge

I'm having issues with using my micro USB port and its very difficult to get Odin to recognize my phone.
Is there a way to use CWM to install EP1Q or is it only available through Odin?

Unfortunately it's Odin only, have you tried using a different USB port, or putting the battery back in after connecting to Odin? Also be sure it's an OEM cable you're using

Yeah I have tried a lot of different things. And a couple different computers. Same errors. None of the computers will recognize it. I have a replacement on the way from warranty, but now I have the issue of trying to return it back to stock form as well.

I saw the title and got excited, hoping there was another gb leak...
All I can think is try a different computer, which you've already done.

Help with odin.. Please

So I'm trying to recover my wifes sgs4g with odin, but for some reason odin won't recognize the phone while in dl mode. When its in android or cwm it recognizes it fine. Anyone know a good trick? Thanks

Maybe try a different cable. Longer cables, especialy, are known to not work right. See if the same cable works (in d/l mode) with a different phone or on a different PC, if possible.

Use the second link in my signature to recover. Read notes and all. Good luck.
Thanks for the help guys. For some reason reinstalling the drivers did the trick.

Question about reverting back to stock

Hey everyone I'm currently rooted and running cm7 and everything runs amazingly....only issue now is that my USB port only charges my phone and doesn't sync data.
So my question is...what are my options? Is it possible to download the stock program on my SD card and maybe use mobile Odin or anything?
Any ideas will help....I want to re-flash more roms but feel I should have clean flashes by going back to stock.
Thanks in advance.

Oh and try a different ports cables and PCs I have two computers one recognizes phone in Odin the other doesnt

Ill look into the link when I get home....as far as I know the port is bad...I've tried it on every micro USB device I have....wont even sync in my father in laws Ford Fusion with sync abilities.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using XDA
I'm not saying the port isn't bad...but this is a common problem in the forum...like I said I still have this problem with my laptop...so when I use Odin I have to use the wife's laptop. Exhaust all possibilities before giving up

Faulty USB port?

I recently bought an extended battery for my skyrocket. I used it for a few days and one night while on the charger it apparently didn't charge. It was only at 70%. Then I noticed it would drop charge while plugged in and using it. The charge icon would stay on but it would consistently drop in percentage. So I switched back to the factory battery thinking that was the problem. Nope. The phone will charge as long as I'm not using it. I also can't get my phone to connect to the computer. Tried 3 different computers and 2 different cables (1 being the factory cable).
Another issue is that I have a custom ROM installed and if I'm going to turn this in for warranty how do I get it back to stock if I can't do it through Odin?
Thanks for the help.

I would suggest cleaning the contacts on the battery and phone and try a can of air duster to blow out the usb ports u are trying to use including the phones usb. If all else fails read the stickies in the development section to go back to stock.
P.S. im not sure if u can go back to stock without ODIN. But just read the stickies cuz i could be wrong

After a quick search last night all I found was info on reverting back to stock with Odin. I cleaned the USB port on my phone with a tooth brush. Got a lot of crap out of there but it didn't help.

I'm not sure if its possible but on my i777 I was able to use the mobile Odin app to flash the stock firmware. Possibly something a dev could come up in cwm since failing USB ports are becoming more and more common. A cwm flashable rom maybe and a separate stock kernal to flash after.

Flash stock rim without computer?

Is there any way to flash stock rom without the use if Odin? Computer won't recognize phone and I have to send iT back for warranty after trying everything I can think of.

It's not clear what state your phone is in but if you can boot and have root mobile odin should work.

You can try to flash the below official ICS Stock roms via CWM, then try to reconnect with PC to flash via ODIN for complete stock.

Note: These roms are deodexed, so it is not unmodified stock.
Yes I can get to d/l mode and recovery

Do you have the necessary drivers installed on the pc? Try installing Kies on the pc. It will install the proper drivers for you.

Yes i have installed keis i even downloaded the drivers straight from the Samsung website too. Everytime i connect my phone to the computer(any computer) it says usb not recognized/malfunction. I have read many threads about how to fix this but none have worked for me. Im thinking about returning this phone because its still under warranty but its rooted.

I tried 3 different oem Samsung cables and 4 different comps. Also different usb ports. It will recognized my captivate but not my skyrocketed. This all started about 2 weeks ago. its says " usb not recognized, usb device may have malfunctioned" something like that.

Works fine but i connect my phone to my comp for backing up files and flashing you know that kinda stuff. I wonder what could if caused it. I remember it started when I was using fb app and it suddenly just shut off and wouldnt come on. When I tried to charge it because it seem like it was dead it would keep vibrating over and over again just like boot looping. Even now if phone is off and I connect the charger it won't show the battery meter but automatically turn it self on. So I think I'll have to send it to att warranty.

Hmm...pick a free one. can't hurt. BTW it doesn't have anything to do with your virus checker does it?
Disable your virus protection. You sure you have your phone in download mode? Can your phone reach download mode?

I'm assuming it has something to do with the new partitioning maybe. It just mounted the internal storage wrong maybe?

Ok. So i grabbed a micro SD card to see if that would change anything. It doesnt. The phone is still not recognized by the computer. Ive tried a few USB cables and three computers (2 win8 and 1 win7). The phone charges from the computer fine. I tried my nexus 7 with both cables and all computers also. They saw the N7 no problem. So it is something in the phone. Thanks for any ideas you throw my way.
OK. Fresh clean flash and same problem. Silly question but can I just flash back to an older build to see if that fixes it. Only reason I ask is the partions. Thanks.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
You would need to flash a stock "unbrick" package first, then flash your way back to JB via the usual methods... starting here for the stock packages:
Heimdall - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1524081
-or-
Odin - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=27286083
Damn. I was afraid of that. Oh well. Thanks. Any ideas what caused it?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Your phone issue sounds like loss of imei info. That sometimes happens during the convert to jb. Revert to stock usually fixes that.
2nd item - there are no back conversions for the partition layout other than the stock packages.
