Hi All,
Did you notice that the Samsung "NOW" application has disappeared from marketplace. I am using OMNIA 7 with RTM Mango and I cannot see the "NOW" application under Samsung Zone.
I had version 2.2 installed and then noticed version 2.3 published but for some reason it would not upgrade. I have removed the old 2.2 version and then I realized that the "NOW" application disappeared completely from the Samsung Zone.
Does anyone have the latest version 2.3 as a XAP file to share? Do you see the "NOW" application in the Samsung Zone and if yes what is your location. Thanks.
Gipaq
I am in Germany with a Omnia 7 nodo and I don't see it either and last night I also so a update for it but had not down it yet. Now I saw that the update notification is gone also. Probably they had a issue with it or are just totally getting rid of it and trying something different
Same here in the US with a Samsung Focus, would love to see someone link to the XAP file.
try searching it in the whole market place. it dissappeared from samsung zone, but it is still in marketplace
Yeah me too ... just this morning I recieved the notification about NOW update, but for some reason always failed at aound 17% I thought it was my connection problem.
And tonight it disappeared from marketplace.
Mine is version 2.2.0.1
And I did tried the search and it wasn't found anywhere in the marketplace.
I thought this was just me. Wonder what happened?
Not only this app is disapearing and possibly reappearing - many apps do so - for example, I cannot find official Twitter for more than a week, the same with Board Express - I cannot find it anymore.
I really do not understand how marketplace is managed, but it's really stupid way. All this mess is killing WP7 and forces many users to steal apps even if they are really cheap. Just because marketplace stupid policy...developers should force MS to change this - it's about their money...

Alright, this is a strange one. I'm wondering if anyone else can confirm this, although I bet few have probably noticed it.
I normally update my installed apps by going to the Market app and selecting "My Downloads." Often times I'll see "update available" and then I install the update, which wipes out the previous version.
Last week, I found an app called aTrackDog, which basically is a version tracker for your apps. It goes out and finds new versions and notifies you, so you can go download your updates. It not only follows the market, but also the app developer's homepage, in case they release their update through different mediums. I don't use it to install or uninstall, just track my versions.
This is when I started paying attention to the version numbers of a few apps. For this example, we'll talk about Advanced Task Manager and Pandora. I updated ATM from 3.5 to 3.6, and Pandora from 1.0.0 to 1.1.0. To do this, since the market didn't say there was an update, I uninstalled each app, and then reinstalled from the market. Everything was great, and each app showed its new version, from the splash screen on Pandora, to how ATM was listed in Task Panel, as version 3.6.
I just rebooted my phone because I was getting the 99% uptime thing, and wanted to mess around with killing the messages task to see if that made a difference. Much to my surprise, when my phone restarted, my phone has reverted many of my apps back to older versions.
My Advanced Task Manager now is back to version 3.5, Pandora is back to 1.0.0, and many other apps are affected.
This seems like a MAJOR BUG. Can anyone else confirm this at all?
To recreate this issue, if you have Pandora version 1.0.0 currently, or 1.1.0, uninstall and reinstall it. You then will have version 1.1.1 I believe. Then reboot your phone, and start Pandora back up. Does it still say 1.1.1?
I have found this also happens with Advanced Task Manager, and Mileage. I'm sure there's others, but those are a couple of examples. This has happened to me at least twice that I'm aware of.
EDIT-- Here's three links on other Android forums where someone else is experiencing this same thing.

I've noticed this too. I've really noticed it with NewsRob because it will pop up a message stating " A new version is available", but the Market knows what I downloaded last so it states that there is no update. I was wondering, since I too had Atrackdog installed (not anymore) if it was an issue with that program, maybe an issue with just what version was listed in certain programs (as in some piece of code to display the version number got messed up) or if there really was automatic downgrading going on...

I've tried to remove aTrackDog, and I'm still getting the same behavior. I really doubt that it has to do with that app, but rather the people that use that app are more aware of version numbers, and are the ones noticing it.
I'm assuming lots of people have Pandora on this board (or mileage, Advanced Task Manager or NewsRob for that matter) so we need more people to try to reproduce this issue!
What I'm trying now is to uninstall the app (in my case I'm using Pandora as it says the version number on launch) then reboot the phone, and then reinstall, use it to see the new version, and then reboot to see if it gets reverted.
What's the result? IT REVERTED AGAIN. This is definitely a bigger issue than we realize...but WE NEED PEOPLE TO REPRODUCE THIS.
EDIT:
I also emailed Pandora support to see if they can't reproduce the issue or help me figure out what's up.
I also emailed the devs for aTrackDog to see if they can't shed some light on what might be going on. Hopefully they'll be quick to help, so we can squash this biznatch.
I also posted a question in the App Market Google Forum, and hopefully someone at Google will help figure this out. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=56ff6f465d6e5e34&hl=en
I also reproduced this issue with TEN more apps:
Astro File Manager
Google Sky
Google Voice
Backgrounds
Barcode Scanner
Shop Savvy
Battery Widget
Daily Horoscope
Facebook
Movie Finder
Google, you got some 'splaining to do.
I use Astro to backup files to my SD card. After I reboot I go through all the "red" files (ones where the SD card version is newer than the installed version) and "upgrade" them with the SD card version.
Alas the Market app tends to "lose" the fact I downloaded some of these apps and no longer tracks them for updates
Something is definitely wrong somewhere.
I'm seeing the same issue, I even tried a factory reset and still happening.
You can add to the list:
Touchdown
Sipdroid
I think it is just about all apps. Even if you uninstall and reinstall the latest version seems to revert back to original version you installed for the first time.
Locale...
This happened to me this week with Locale. I had beta .68 and upgraded to beta .69.
A couple of days later, I noticed I was still running beta .68. I thought maybe they had forgotten to update the name in the app itself, but after seeing this thread, I'm betting it's an HTC Sprint Hero bug.
I also re-visited the Android Market to see if I could re-download beta .69, but it didn't recognize that the program could be updated. It must think I'm running beta .69, but I'm pretty sure I'm still rocking beta .68.
Verrrrry strange...
I just reproduced this as well, with AK Notepad.
I had 1.9.3b installed; upgraded to 1.9.4. rebooted; now it shows 1.9.3b again
I'm using modaco's rom with apps2sd setup. Is this happening on stock heros too?
edit:
From what I've been able to gather from Handcent SMS's version changelog and look for in the actual application I have on my phone, it appears that it is only the display of the version that is reverting, not the application itself. I have this issue with Handcent and even the "about" dialog inside the application reports the older version, but I am seeing features and changes that only appear in later versions according to the changelog. We'd need a major update of an application to test this further.
edit2:
grinched from #android on EFNet helped test this on a stock CDMA Hero and was able to replicate it with Barcode Scanner.

I'm going to root my Hero and give this a shot tonight. A HUGE preemptive THANK YOU!!!!!
This has been driving me nuts!!!
Nathan, you might want to try this one too (maybe first)?

Basically the same thing, but you delete the entire cache directory instead of just the broken ones one at a time. The cache is recreated after you reboot.

Just an FYI, I'm married, but I friggin love you guys!! This is why XDA is my favorite place. Such a wealth of knowledgeable and great people. Thanks again everyone, MUCH MUCH appreciated.
Ooops... forums are acting buggy.
Yes this started recently, currently its affecting 2 of my purchased apps SlideIT and FolderOrganizer. I find them both under "Downloads" in market, and as "Purchased". They can be downloaded without problems, but when i start them, after 10sec if connected to internet, a error box comes up and doesnt go away saying i need to purchase full version. On checkout.google.com they all have been succefully bought and money has been taken from my bank account.
I think it started few days ago after i flashed a rom on my Desire (defrost 6.0) but not sure. After that i factory resetted and installed Opendesire .36 and still same problem. Anyone that might know what the issue is, how to fix it or how to get contact with market support team (not user forum??).
Im running non-updated version(i think, ver1.82 of market since Opendesire doesnt autoupdate market it seems. Would also want to know if its anyway to update manually.
/Very frustrated man, since its the 2 most important apps on my phone!
Not sure whats going on but for the past day and a half now I have not been able to install apps from the droid market from the PC. Been doing market fixes since then. I have all apps showing up, but I still get the device not showing in my account.
I know this issue pops up alot just wanted to know if others where having the same issue.
I did eventually install appbrain as a work around but it is really annoying to see that google is having that many problems with this.
I went through all the net advised fixes, work around's and everything else. From what I've come across it's not just tablet owners having this issue. It's also phone owners of both rooted and non-rooted phones.
will be easier for others to help you if you give more info. What rom are you using? What have you tried? (you say you tried a few fixes) any hacks or tweeks youve done?
I am running TnT lite 4.2.4 w/ clockwork mod installed. No other tweaks to speak of. I have not had a market issue since original install 3 weeks ago. Even after running the 2.2.4 supplement I still had a functioning market.
It was the next day that market did an update and things went downhill from there. I hit the net and looked for other fixes and found 2 others involving removal and resetting of gmail account. did not work work.
As of 7:30am today my market account still does not show my device listed. The first run of the market fix 3 weeks took 4 hrs for my tab to show under market account, so letting it sit after ordering from the tablet did not correct the issue either.
I have tried the titanium backup market fix as well as the non titanium fix on multiple occasions. at least 4x each fix. My market on tab looks up to date w/ all apps, just my tab is not showing on the webpage market.
THis issue does not seem to be just a tab issue as googleing "device does not show under market account" pulls quite a few issues regarding this problem. Even various phones are having the same issue.
not sure what else to do except use a work around.
Similar issue...
ROM: Vegan Beta 5.1.1
Tab: Ztab
My issue is that all my android devices, including this one, show up. However, two of them show as "not compatible" for many applications even though they should be compatible. For instance, Xscope (being the latest I tried) won't install on either the Ztab or my nameless Shanzai tablet. It would install on my S7 or Droid.
Android Versions:
S7: 2.1
Droid: 2.2 (some ROM, don't remember which)
Shanzai: 2.1 (as it came)
Ztab: 2.2 (via Vegan as noted above)
I'm not sure what else to try and it is getting very annoying. I had thought it was just me until I started to see more and more reports of the issue.
Updated my wifes HTC Arrive from NoDo to Mango via Zune official update. Everything appeared to be working, until I went to update HTC apps like flashlight, HTC Hub, HTC Photo Enhancer.
Getting error
"Marketplace error We're sorry, but we can't complete your request right now. Try launching Marketplace again. If the problem continues, check back in a little while, or try restarting your phone. Error code: 80320011".
or
If I try to get any HTC app from within that HTC Hub, the details pages for the apps are working, but there is a note present there "This app is not available for your device. Tap here for more info.". There: "App not available This might be because your phone software needs to be updated, the app is exclusive to a different mobile provider, or the app is not available in your region".
Rolling backto NoDo then will try to update again.
Anyone else having this issue with HTC?
Yes, they locked down the apps so no one can download them.

yeah but I also have a HTC Arrive that had the leaked RTM that got the HTC software update today, and all the HTC branded apps work on it just fine.

Yes, I'm having the exact same issue. Did the rollback then reinstalled official release through Zune, no dice. Sound Enhancer won't update, give the same error. All of the HTC updates worked fine with RTM 7720.
Using leaked HTC 7 Pro ROM, same problem - Error code 80320011. Can not install compass, can not upgrade Sound Enhancer.
By the way - is leaked ROM the same as official ROM, downloaded via Zune? Could someone with officialy upgraded 7 Pro write firmware numbers?
up to now I can't install/upgrade HTC apps.
HD7 NoDo to official mango.
Sound enhancer isn't in the marketplace any more so it's not going to update... Once I installed mango had to wait a like a day for all the apps to update (13 total). Oh and you can finally download connected media. There's no warning or error anymore

Check and see if you have "HTC Apps" when you go into Marketplace.
I've spent hours and tried different upgrade paths (7392 to official 7720, 7712 to official 7720, 7712 to leaked 7720 + HTC Update) numerous times, and it seems that I'd lose "HTC Apps" from the Marketplace at some random point. I can't seem to identify the pattern or reason but it's almost as if the phone loses its "identify" i.e. no longer thinks it's an HTC or something. A reset fixes the problem but then you lose the unlocked ability.
At the moment I'm staying with my unlocked 7712 backup (I know, somehow I decided to create a backup of 7712 which gives me one more option or upgrade path) to leaked 7720 + HTC Update. This is on Mozart T8697.
I downloaded dock mode but htc watch is not working, any ideas?

same here.. "HTC Apps" were gone in my marketplace.. weird because this is normal upgrade from NoDo to Mango and not using the force upgrade.
I'm using HD7.
Quote myself from another thread:
HTc Apps now work on my trophy!!!
After waiting 3 days, the App "attentive phone", which I had in my Applist since nodo, is now not longer in app list, but in my config menu. Since that, I can install the HTC DLNA App (in german: verbundene medien), too.
Now everything works nice, and i can say, the update force trick isnĀ“t a problem, it just took a few days....whatever

I havent got the mago upgrade yet, but cant update HTC apps either.
I have the same issue with my Omnia 7 !
When i upgrade 7392 unlocked to 7720 (Unlocked or Non-Unlocked), i lose my "Operator (ORANGE) App" category in MarketPlace but i have "Samsung App" category !
I can't acces to Orange App... and i can't update my app Samsung in Mango version (Now, etc...) --> Requiere a Samsung Device... lol^^ (i have a Omnia 7)
I don't have a way... and you ?
PS : with Mango Beta 7720 (RTM), i can instal this applications...
I'm running stock 2.3.3 and I'm still on the old market software (2.3.4). Will my handset update to the new market automatically? Are there any benefits to the new market besides the improve GUI? (I'm desperately hoping the search is improved!)
As much I'd like the fancy new look of the new market, I'm wary of updating due to the new auto-update feature in case my phone has a dodgy eMMC. Is there anyway to disable the auto-update feature before it gets chance to start?
Please note, the new market is very very slow...
Not much of an upgrade apart from the visual changes

The earlier versions of the new market were slow, eg 3.1.5, but the new one is much better, i.e. 3.3.11
Plus, the new version prevents simultaneous installs and crashes, with apps being installed sequentially. I've been flashing new ROMs with the new market, and my apps all reinstall automatically, i've never faced a hangup yet!
Plus, the new market gives you a one-click abort to stop installation of all apps in one go... unlike the old one where you had to cancel each app one by one... Also, there is the option to only update when on wifi. Saves mobile data package and if you have that option checked, and you're not on wifi, your apps wont update at all!!
I would definitely recommend the new market.
The good news is that the new version had a setting to disable auto updates.
The bad news is that Oli is right. For the sake of a fancy UI, it's slower, laggy, and will frequently tell you updates are available for apps when in fact they are not. The latest version 3.3.11 is slightly better than previous efforts, but i still have to abort updates, clear data, and get false update notifications.
If you are on stock and not rooted, google will be pushing this polished turd onto your phone soon.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that wnp
It is slightly better with the new 3.3.11 compared to 3.x.x but could still do with a speed boost!
Market 3.2.0 was just released a few days ago! Wonder what changes it brings!
@enigmaamit wow never knew that! So are you saying that it could be safe to hit auto update on all apps, as it does it one by one? No more chance of a fried Emmc chip?

Yup, i've updated around 15 apps at one go, and the install occurs sequentially instead of simultaneously.
No issues so far (four different ROM flashes with the new market)
The biggest issue for me with the 3.x markets is that "compatibility check" of the application with the device registered. Since there are not too many of you complaining, I presume you are not using a non-standard screen density. If you do it, market will show for many application the "application is not compatible..." message and you're not allowed to download it. 240 screen density (standard for HDPI devices) is too big for my taste, I prefer something like 200-210. In this case alot of applications designed for HDPI cannot be installed (Skype for ex is one of them, but there are many).
Adding this on top of the slowness of the new market, makes me using the "old" 2.3.6 version which is perfect. Unfortunately this version was giving FCs with the ICS ROM I've tested (the alpha from superkid) so I am wondering if it will work at all on ICS or I should be forced to upgrade to the latest market (which is something I don't want).
If somebody finds out a way to bypass this compatibility check, please share, it is very annoying
Thanks for your input guys. I think I'm going to wait until the new market is pushed to my phone. Hopefully by then some more of the bugs might have been worked out. I'm in no rush.
