Since I have my KF rooted, I'd really like it to connect to my exchange e-mail. What is the best way to do this?

I'm using Enhanced Email from the Amazon Market. It works great with my Exchange Server 2003 SP2. Even brings in all contacts!
I second that, enhanced email is great. I'm running both hotmail and gmail as exchange setups.

Enhanced Email as well. I use it on my phone as well as my fire. Great support from the dev as well.

that app works great
K9 mail has exchange support as well.

Touchdown. Most specifically if you have security on the server such as required passwords etc, the the app keeps those only on the app, not forced to the device as well.

Touchdown... been using it on my smartphones for years.
I've been using it on the Kindle Fire now for a couple weeks. they have a new beta version that works better with some of the new tablet stuff they have been adding.
Have used it in conjunction with MaaS360 as well.

Go get it while you can.
+1 for cerberus. It works really well
I think androidlost kills it

Ive used almost all of them. cerberus has been the best one yet. I can control all the devices connected with my license without having to swap gmail accounts. But each person is allowed their own opinion. So if you like androidlost kudos to you.
You can use one gmail for unlimited devices on androidlost

Are you sure? If the other devices use a different gmail address you have to log in with that email. Atleast that is what I had to do.
Looking at the guide page confirms it uses whatever gmail address is on the phone. I used this for a while until I bought cerberus, dont get me wrong it is nice but IMO not the same or better. I suggest it to anybody that wants a free tracking app.
Has anybody found a way to disable the email security with Microsoft Exchange on the Note 10.1? I tried installing Wanam xposed, but it wouldn't install. Really don't want to have a lock screen just because of my email.

Check out "enhanced email". Some mixed reviews but I like and will keep using it until my IT departments mobile iron implementation shuts me out.

Any client that uses Activesync will force you to accept your IT dept rules. Try Mobimail. This app uses Exchange Web Service which is not subject to the server restrictions. It is a phone style interface but it looks pretty respectable on a tablet. Only down side is it uses its own calendar so it won't integrate with Android calendar widgets. But it does its own calendar notifications so maybe not a big deal.

Just recently got myself an N5 from an iP4s, all is going smoothly apart from exchange.
On the first sync after putting in all the log in details into the stock mail app for GoDaddy's server, it puts up a notification saying that it needs access to a lot of different things like PIN, auto delete, etc etc, if I decline, it won't sync, just wondered if this was normal, never had anything like on the iP4s, not that I'm saying thats a bad thing!
appreciate its not a N5 specific issue but anything help would be gratefully received
That's a normal issue, my work exchange email requires similar admin. privileges. I have to accept in order for it to sync.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yep normal. Unlike iPhones, exchange admins can force PIN security on users. I like that

Oddly, the Samsung email app is not pre-installed, and I don't want to get any more attached to Outlook, which I do use on PC. What about using Gmail app for other than Gmail accounts? I'm leaning toward installed the Samsung one, but any ideas or suggestions?
I recently went down this road after being dumped back into gmail from inbox.
I landed on blue mail. Very solid application and works flawlessly.

I just downloaded the Samsung Email app from the Galaxy Store. Works great for me.
I think I moved away from the samsung app in search of a dark theme. Also worked great though....and no ads like gmail.

What Semantics said x2. I'm a creature of habit, so I downloaded the stock Samsung Email app for my Pop3 accounts.
Thanks, all. I guess I'll just get the Samsung app. Thought I must surely be missing something that it was not there. On a Samsung phone after all!

I think they are pushing the Microsoft products now that they have a new partnership or whatever.

Be careful. That Dev has a history of privacy concerns. I wouldn't touch that app with a 10 foot pole.
For exchange accounts, I use Nine. It's well worth the money to me, and as a one time purchase it's not even THAT expensive. It also allows me to deny my employer admin rights to my entire phone, just the actual app. Maildroid does this as well. If I wanted a free solution, Outlook, easily.

Privacy concerns?
Used outlook app for a while but.... dark mode.
Nine I use for work, and have for years, but I wanted to keep that separate from personal stuff.

Last I heard the dev was a Russian guy in Brooklyn, NY. Who knows? There are a LOT more email apps out there that don't throw off red flags left and right.
When Google dropped Inbox I tried everything from Newton ( I'm not paying $50 for a year) Spark which iPhone people have been raving about but I was missing important emails while I would get notified for low priority emails.
I tried Blue and it was just OK and now I'm using the Gmail app. I'm not sure why they won't give us a dark mode, I feel like it's out of spite at this point.
I use the Samsung email app for work and it works well, I just don't like to mix work and personal emails on the same client.

I just dl'd maildroid, and dig the layout so far. I wonder if anyone has feedback on searching and indexing. Does it actually search old emails? What setting should I search for?

Agreed. This is the route I went rather than resetting all my passwords. If anyone were to try and access google sends me an approval email anyhow.
