[email protected]+0 = Reboot? - T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

I'd love to have this be a function that could be ported over to the current model --- any hope for it?
[If you don't know - it was one of the shortcuts from the old SK models]

This has been replaced by PowerButton + Volume+/- (hold for up to 10 seconds to reboot)

Well, damn. That is great to know! Thank you!

Otherwise, if you have any of the custom roms ( or the tweak from the dev section) there's also the Extended Power menu, which gives options for reboot, recovery, and download mode, by holding the power button.

Bootloader mode with Android installed

Hi,
I installed Android (Donut) on NAND on my HTC Polaris.
Now I would like to flash a NBH with a more recent version.
But I can't access to bootloader (screen with different colors) reseting the Polaris with holding the "camera" button. I can only access the install menu of Android (holding "power button")
How can I retrieve the screen with different colors ? Or can I flash a new NBH with an other solution ?
Thank you for your help.

Remove battery
Hi
Please do a search in the future for your question. Your answer is over here:
For your convenience i will paste it over here:
•To flash your device you might have to put your Polaris in bootloader mode. To enter this mode you have to do the following:
•Press and hold the camera button.
•Press reset while you hold the camera button. Release it (the reset button).
•Hold the camera button until de colored bars screen appears.
•If it doesn't work, remove the battery, wait for some seconds, put it back and try again.
•When the colored screen (Hard SPL) is shown, you are ready to flash it using the flashing application (CustomRUU.exe, for example).
1. Power off your device
2. Press and hold camera button
3. Press power button
4. Use CustomRUU.exe for flash device
Go Go Go!!!
Bootloader
1. Remove battery
2. Replace battery
3. Press and hold camera button
4. Press power button
Procedure works just in time.
With no success, start with 1. again.

[Q] I can't use Clockwork Recovery - No volume buttons!

Hello all! I was able to get CWR 4 installed on my Augen Gentouch tablet. I booted into it, but then realized I can't move up and down since I have no volume buttons on the device.
None of the buttons do anything, except the power button, which selects the first option (Which is "Shut down" or "Reboot" or the likes)
Any ideas? Is there a magic way to remap keys for this?
I can't even get the stock recovery program back on because CWR 4 has me stuck
Thanks for any help
Same issue!
Got a 8 tablet with samsung S5PV210 ARM A8 Cortex
Three buttons on the front, no volume buttons, so pressing the down volume button and power to get into recovery is not poss? Rom Manager just boots to stock rom even if i press " install rom from SD"
Anyone?
We cant be the only ones who got one of these lol
Cheers
Danny
I am using a version of Clockwork Recovery on my Photon that takes over if you have the charge plugged in when you turn it on.

would love to know the answer to this myself.
Solved!
But now i need a good rom?
2. Update your Tablet, using the recovery console
1.- shut down the Tablet
2.- Press the "HOME" Button, and then press the "Power" button TOGETHER about 2-3 seconds.
3.- The android system will start, and stop at a page with a small android robot, press the "power" Button about 2 seconds, and then press the "HOME" together.
4.- The screen will show the below 4 choices:
1) Reboot system panel now
2) apply update from /sdcard
3) wipe data/factory reset
4) wipe cache partition
Select option 2 by holding down the "Power" button, once complete reboot!

Yeah, that's coming. It has buttons on the screen for navigating the menus. I'm not sure if it's gonna be device-specific though, or if it will be generic enough to include regardless of your device.

[Q] Stuck in BootLoop Cherry Mobile Omega HD2

I rooted my MTK6589 android 4.2.1 phone using Framaroot with ClockworkMob 6.0.3.5 Build 49. It was working great for over a month then suddenly yesterday when I rebooted it got stuck in a bootloop. I panicked of course being an ex-Iphone user I'm just not used to this. I read somewhere that for my phone, to get to the boot menu I have to press and hold Vol+, Vol-, Camera and Power. That didn't work. I tried different combinations but only pressing and holding both Camera and Power works. So I thought my problem was an easy fixed I could just do recovery but now what to do next when the next step doesn't work? This is what I see on my phone:
Select Boot Mode:
[VOLUME_UP to select. VOLUME_DOWN to OK. 1
[Recovery Mode] <<==
[Fastboot Mode]
[Normal Mode]
On my phone Volume_Up doesn't do the selecting. It does nothing in this menu. It's the Camera button that I press to select which option to choose. When I press Volume_Down which is supposed to be the OK and I presumed would reboot my phone, that too doesn't work. I've tried different key combinations including the Home and Menu buttons but nothing works. If I press the Power button by itself it just turns if off even when I selected Recovery Mode.
One more thing, if I press and hold Volume_Up and Power to boot up, I get a broken Android icon and "No Command".
I'm a new Android user and I really like my Android phone because I could customize it using apps from the Playstore. I wish there is a combination of keys that would take me to Recovery Mode right away. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

[Q] Unable to boot

Hey. I'm having an issue. Currently running latest cm-nightlys, well I was. I wiped/factory reset wiped dalvik and cache. Upon installing ROM, Paranoid Android 4.0 Beta 3 It just stood there. Frozen. I felt so cold and alone I waited 10 minuets, still nothing. I held down the power button/volume up to get back to recovery but I was unable to....By the way i'm on clockwork MOD 6.0.xx It's probably my fault, I should've installed TWRP instead. I can get to fast boot....I HATE setting up ADB, but I have it installed, not the full version. Can someone HELP?!!? I'm unfamiliar with the comands, and so forth... Thanks in advanced
power button + volume up doesnt take you into recovery. power button + volume down takes you into the bootloader(fastboot), then scroll down with the volume key and choose recovery(while still in the bootloader).
Your install of paranoid wasn't frozen, takes over 15 min to install PA, and the status bar doesn't move either while installing. It is stated in PA ROM section.

No. Holding down power off in Android asks you if you want to reboot in safe mode.

GT-P5110 unable to reboot directly to recovery after twrp installation

full stock, unrooted, GT-P5110
... connect to odin (3.12 PC)-> uncheck auto reboot -> install twrp -> PASS -> unplug cable from usb
but all I seem to be able to do is reboot into system.
I :-
hold power button for 1 sec, 2 secs, 3 sec.... trying to just turn it off (instead of reboot)
hold vol down + power button,
hold power button + tap volume down,
just hold vol down,
tap power button (does nothing), only long press restarts.
hold power button till screen goes black and then hold vol down + tap pwr button
hold power button till screen goes black and then hold vol down + hold pwr button
hold power button till screen goes black and then hold vol down on its own
search forum
pull hair out
type this
each time reinstalling twrp
any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
thanks
To reboot to recovery you need to hold volume UP + power.

well that's strange, as, on my device, from off:
Volume UP + power takes me to download mode... I have done this several times and it asks me to confirm by then pressing down.
AND, from off
Volume DOWN + power takes me to recovery.
and doing a search, via google and xda all agree with me.
.. but thanks
I never said I couldn't get into recovery... I cannot get from odin into recovery without it first rebooting and therefore wiping my flash.
edit: So I tried it anyway, and got back into download mode, which in a way is kinda good news as, my logic, if I can get back into download mode from a reboot then I should be able to get into recovery from a reboot.
Same same but slightly different

I am having the exact same problems and tried exactly the same things. I am just not able to install twrp because of this. ( I read that it overwrites the recovery with the stock one when you are not going straight into recovery mode after installation) I am stuck at the “Samsung Galaxy note 10.1” screen if try to go straight into recovery.
What is strange though is that with my device: VOLDown (towards the power button) + Power button takes me to download mode and the other combination supposedly to the recovery mode.
This is so frustrating. Done this so many times with other devices but this one just does not give up… I just want to get rid of all bloatware and other crap…..

I've given up, for now, tried every combination I could think... I have a sneaky feeling it must be rooted first. It is the only thing I haven't tried doing.
I am now trying to root it first

I am currently doing just that! Using the files from autoroot . chainfire . eu (can not post links yet haha) . I will let you know how it went!
UPDATE:
It worked! I rooted my device first. After that I flashed my recovery via the TWRP app. I also must say that my device is the GT-N8010 (p4notewifixx). I got confused of all the different models. Still I think it will work with your model aswell! Good luck!
