Android Market through http-proxy with Authentification - General Questions and Answers

Hi!
I am looking for a way to forward ports through a http-proxy, which use authentification (username/password). Specially for the androidmarket to update my apps.
I am in hospital right now and all ports except 80 are blocked.
I use the lightning-mod 5.0 with the Samsung Galaxy S2. Searched a lot but found nothing working for me.
Sorry, if I'm in the wrong board or didn't find the topic related to my question but I got a lot of pain to handle right now.
Would be pleased to find help here.
Thx

It seems ProxyDroid, at least the latest version, lets the market work through the proxy! I just found out myself

XDA Forum Application

Looking for three or four people to test the new XDA Andriod application. It is mostly fully functional (reading, posting, PMs, etc.).
It will be free for the community soon, but if you want to be one of the first to try it, send me a PM with your email address.
I will edit this post once I have enough people.
EDIT: Have enough testers for now. Thanks for the help.
Testing.

Works great
But would it be possible to have only defined sub forums, show up under the latest tab?
Or maybe it would be possible to split android and windows?
And what about search?

More than 10 post per page had also been nice

Except for the known forum titles cut off bug, everything seems to work great on my Nexus as well.
Thanks

Any updates on the availability of this app? It's sorely needed... Or at the very least, it'd be great if XDA created a mobile version of the site. Browsing on a mobile phone, while possible, is a pretty painful experience. In any case, thanks for working on the app. I can't wait to give it a try!

it is a closed beta unfortunatley so you wont find it. although i hope he will open it up soon for others to try........
Strange they haven't released it yet. I haven't found any bugs on either my Liquid or Nexus, and it seems nobody else have either.

It may be locked to a particular version. I don't have a Sapphire anymore (1.5) so I cannot check; in any case it's useless without decent forums on there I'm sure soon XDA will be available. I'm heading out but worst case I can send you the APK to try and see if it'll work.

Any goodies for the Samsung M900 (Moment)?

I've been looking around these forums and I'm not seeing anything for the Samsung Moment. Can anyone help?

Ok so i just went to download from androidzoom.com, i hit the download button which directed me to the android market place and then came up with an error, found no results product name.air.****head or something. Maybe i would have more luck on the pc not my phone...

Hiya..... yeah, I've encountered the same problem - got directed to the search page which couldn't find it!! I emailed the developer through the androidzoom page and they said 'it's only just been released and there was a problem with it showing up on the search function on the android market'..... Boo!! I'll try again tomorrow, coz like you I've been after this game for a while - used to play it all the time at uni!!
Oh ok, i thought it was old and taken down cos it showed less than 50 downloads. Thanks for saying though, il check later or tomorow or something.
I love this game also, its addictive!!
Happy new year to all who have taken part in my thread

Aha, I forget - hooky 2.2 on my phone!! Wouldn't recommend doing it though - I only did coz I was thinking of getting rid of my xperia....
Yeah i PMed the dev and he said it runs using adobe air which as things stand is only supported by 2.2 and higher.
Im just waiting for a fully stable 2.2 then il flash but just wait in the mean time. On the plus side atleast i know there is ****head app out there i guess!

Bbm on droid

Hi
OK I have seen this asked but I have a good idea for this.
Would it be possible to use blackberry bridge (the app used to link a Bb to a Playbook) to link it to an Android so I can use my bis and have my bbm on my android while it is linked to my blackberry? I don't like the blackberry's user interface it is way to slow.

The trick would be porting it over to android, then getting it to work on their servers. Correct me if I'm wrong.
saw this a little while ago, not what your talking about, but its relevant and you might find it interesting

I did see that a while ago as well. It was interesting to see. Maybe RIM is officially working on it themselves or maybe it was a hoax. No news of it came up again so I'm pointing to hoax.
I seem to have remember that they said that screen shot was taken from the bb sdk or something but it is fake. Who around here would have the knowledge to port the app to android? I think if we can get the app on android and trick the blackberry into thinking it is a play book then the blackberry will allow access to the servers. Just a thought Im not sure if it would work.

Exactly! Nothing's more frustrating then finding your issue "solved" in a forum without any hints as to the issue.
Sorry about the quick exit.. for users in a similar situation I will post my Java settings for you to view.
The problem was within my main Java code.. I had the onClickListners defined as wrong buttons. I also didn't declare my smsActivity.Java manifest. Which basically meant that I was trying to open a "view" that the manifest had no clue it was there.
There's some excellent books on android whizzing about. In particular look out for the android app development for dummies.
Gives simple straight forward information on where to start with Java coding.
Hope this helped some of you out there.
