What's the most stable kh3 rom ATM? don't be defensive - Captivate General

There's a few kh3 roms floating around, just wondering which is the most developed atm?

My vote goes for Victoryrom 1.3. After one tiny problem with Buddies Now widget fc on me (solved by removing the apk) I have had zero issues whatsoever so far.

Cool that's kind of what I was leaning towards

fusion II is nice, slick, stable

all of them are highly in development. we dont even have a kernel source yet. i would recommend cog if you want a captivate rom. but KH3 is not ready to be a daily driver IMO. also im sure you are aware that there isnt a "best" choice, only what people prefer. i am on Apex and i have no problems or issues with it. easily one of the best developed roms ive ever used. i am rambling now. lol try victory or fusion.
ramble end...

Also, not to be a pain in the ass, but threads like this usually don't last very long around XDA...

I know they don't, I just wanted to get some input on current development from actual users of the roms

I am using VictoryRom 1.3. So far it seems stable & reliable. Battery life is good too!

I am on apex and am really liking it,,no real problems

Before its closed I'll give another vote for victory rom. Currently runing 1.4 and it's really nice and stable. Certainly a daily driver....no issues whatsoever.

[Q] Leaked 2.2 or Syndicate?

Hey guys, first post on the forums. I've been reading them now for a few months, at least with android development, and I've really been liking all the knowledge that's here.
So, I've been looking at the Syndicate ROM (with all the goodies), which looks pretty freaking awesome, but right when I was going to flash it, I saw the leaked 2.2; which, I flashed immediately. I've been greatly enjoying all the little changes here and there, not to mention the simple fact that the community has brought us Froyo. Now, I tried reading around a bit to see what my best option is, but I'm just not sure which I should go with. I like a lot of the features each has to offer. I'm sure I could just go flash Syndicate and try it, but I hate reflashing my phone constantly back and forth. Anybody experienced with both care to shed some light on the subject? The help is to be greatly appreciated.
I should also note that I do enjoy testing software and helping report any bugs I come across, to help development progress easier.

This might belong in general. They are both great roms but if you are looking fo instant gratification and stability go with syndicate rom. The froyo beta still has a few bugs that need to be ironed out as it not official yet, try it if ur feeling dangerous but if you just want a fast stable rom id wait a little while before flashing it

Syndicate/Epic Experience. I played with 2.2 for a few days, but Syndicate/Epic experience is a much more stable package with better features than 2.2 offers us now. Its also a lot snappier and more pleasant to use.
Great question and definently needs its own thread lol,but I would go with syndicate cuz 2.2 is not stable enough yet,im runnin syndicate and lovin it-its best rom to date, only thing that could be better is syndicate 2.2.

^ This.
Wow, so far I've had zero problems with stability or bugs. Keep in mind though, I've been playing with it for about two days so far.
It really sounds like I should give Syndicate a shot, with how highly people talk of it. Backup, wipe, and flash, here I come. (And hopefully I decide to do it tomorrow and not after I get home from a party tonight.) Thanks for the input guys. I'm sure I'll post my opinion of the two compared in a few days for anyone who might have the same question in the future.
Yeah I tried the 2.2, but just didn't like it as much as the Syndicate with xtreme 1.6 and the custom theme. Plus, it didn't seem as fast and actually scored lower on the Quadrant and the same on Linpack. Soooo... yeah stuck with the awesomeness that is Syndicate.
I can tell u 2.2 leak isn't as bad as much ppl .said....so far I haven't had any fc or buggss....so I only see a lil bit lag in the browser but that's because flash.....but believed me I won't go back to 2.1 just cuz I really like 2.2 (but that's my opinion)
send it from the Galaxy System Core ....dont mess with it

I'm working with the Syndicate rom At this time and loving it along with the Extreme Kennel. Just think what it'll be like when Syndicate is based on the actual stable Froyo release. Dude, I cannot wait to see what that's gonna be like.
Does Froyo come with the newest Touchwiz to get the newest Samsung widgets?
I had syndicate rom. It was a very smooth and fast rom, but the battery life did not seem to work for me. Apparently the cooker of the syndicate rom thinks my phone is the problem.

I'll go with this recomendation also. I was really excited when I heard Froyo leaked out and it was ready for us to test! But with that being said, like noobnl said, DJ29 is very buggy and Syndicate ROM is so well put together, it's just hard to pass up. So I'd go with Syndicate too. Thats what I'm running now til Ofgficial Froyo comes out...
P.S. I "heard" Froyo will be comming to us within the next week or two...
Yeah baked snack is purrin. I like'em both and I'd like to see a stable " baked syndicate". Baked kernel.....syndicate rom. Yeah, that would be something.

I've not had any major issues with the froyo rom but I'm gonna go back to the syndicate rom. Just too many annoyances with the beta. It's good enough for a daily use rom though.

Many people try most if not all the ROMs. Each ROM varies per person and it seems SuperNova is a good new ROM. Usually these threads get locked because the ROM is truly dependent upon user experience, and your thread title is pretty bad so it does not lead people to really think what you want.
I bounce around, current favorites stripped and paragon. Try them all, find what works best for you
I'm enjoying Andromeda v1.1
I am on Supernova as well. I have tried about every rom I could find and always went back to Phoenix 4.5 but now Supernova is what is staying on my phone!
I'm using Cognition 3.04. My wife's phone is on Perception 10.3. I like the straightforward look and feel of them.
It's like what others are saying though, once you flash one you'll want to flash again.

Sorry couldn't think of a better thread title other than that I am new to XDA. I like it here though. Lots of information on different ROMs and user opinions. Good stuff.
I'm digging Firefly 2.1 right now. But like others have said, its all just a matter of personal preference. It's what Roms YOU like that matters. My advice would be to try at least one new rom a week. If you really don't like the rom you install on any given week, well then try two roms that week.

You should do it. You will not be upset with your choice. Well worth it.
I'm currently on Andromeda 2.1 but thinking hard about giving Supernova a go. After the first blitz of flashing everything on the board I've found that for me it really takes a few days to really get the feel of a new program. I've gone back and reflashed a couple of ROMs simply because I didn't give them a fair shake. I do keep coming back to Andromeda and it will now be hard to abandon it.
Like others have said. Try several roms til you find one you really like.
If you really wanna tailor your phone to your specific likes... try different kernels and modems too... til you get the fastest, most stable setup for your particular phone and location.
Tons of combos out there that work well for some, not so well for others.
I am using di11i'sOC v6.0 as it has Call Record function that I like having available to me. It is also one of the fastest and smoothest I have tested. Battery seems very good also but it has only been two days. I will let you know more after a week or so.......
I'm using Precision 3.0 with SuckerPunch #49 Kernel. FAST and SMOOTH!
Cog 3.04 here.
Welcome aboard. Serendipity is the cleanest imo. The guys that work on it work around the clock releasing updates and are always available should u have a problem. Good luck on ur choice.
Also have call recording although not included in this rom
Captivate | Serendipity 5.8 | Speedmod K13a-500mhz | KP1
I might be a little biased toward Andromeda

[Q] Best Nexus S Rom?

Hi guys,
I was wondering if I could get some advice. I had the Nexus One and had Cyanogen running on it, which I loved. I got the nexus S at christmas and love it... the random reboots did annoy me until 2.3.3 came out. Recently I rooted the phone and flashed modaco custom ROM based on 2.3.3 with the KB3 radio and GRI 54 base.
I was wondering if your guys opinions, what is the best ROM to flash, that is stable, with not random boots etc. but an improvment on what I have?
Thanks!!
They're all great. Try them all and see which you like the best.
Personally, I like CM 7 because of the T-Mobile theme engine that allows me to change the appearance of the ROM with the touch of a button. No more constant flashing of themes for me!
CM, only CM)
I was a CM7 fanboy untill i tried MIUI

I've tried a lot and although they all have their advantages I always come back to CM. It generally picks up all the great little mods that the community develop not to mention all its own great features.
Bear in mind that it is still not technically stable yet though R2 has been pretty good for me with only a couple of reboots since installing on the day it was released. Once we get the full stable CM7 it will be a tough one to beat
Cyanogen Mod 7 only.

I will elaborate. I've run every ROM available since January (when I got my NS). I've tried almost every release of those ROMs as well and I can honestly say that they are all awesome for different reasons. I try really hard not to be biased to one ROM or one developer because it tends to cloud your ability to try different things with an open mind. Right now I have NANDroid backups of CM7rc2, MIUI, Axura, NSCollab, Stock 2.3.3, Stock 2.3.3 Deodexed, and Honeycomb.
I'm always sad to see these thread because I think its asking the wrong question altogether. What these threads should ask is "What is your daily driver?" because "best" is so subjective to uses and personal preference. What some love about CM7 is also what many other hate. The iOS look of MIUI is both on of its most loved and hated qualities. Whatever tweaks a particular dev or team of devs seems fit to include may be exactly what a person wants or what a person doesn't want.
Now, I've said my diatribe and I'll answer the other question: "What is your daily driver?"
I have two. Some days I run CM7rc2, some days I run Axura. Once the white background issue is cleared up in MIUI, I'll add that to the rotation as well.
Cm7. Other roms are good for if you're bored and want to flash something new. Pretty sure everyone ends up on cm7 for stability and features better than stock.
Axura is my everyday driver. Its fast and its been the most stable for me.

I must agree entirely. I tried CM7 for awhile but it wasn't stable enough for me. I've never had a ROM as stable and fast and clean looking as Axura! I'd recommended at least giving a few of them a try though. The stickied thread by Kenvan is a wonderful resource!

Feedback Needed From The Thunderbolt Community

If you recently purchased a Thunderbolt ....
You may be in the same boat as me, looking at rooting. Everyone is talking about gingerbread coming to our phones. I haven't seen an OTA as of yet, but it has leaked. located here->
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1225752
Now,
I know that you can root very easy here->
http://revolutionary.io/
and I would play close attention to this video as it provides detailed instructions ->
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UK_CiB2SYk
**WAIT**
Before you dive in, here comes my question.
If you have done your research, there are alot and I mean ALOT of roms to flash for the thunderbolt.
I would like some feedback as to what rom you have flashed.
This will help anyone new to the thunderbolt party as well as myself.
I have yet to make a decision on rooting or waiting.
Your feedback below please.
Thank you all in advance
And as ALWAYS,
Thank you to all the developers who are working there butts off !
I tried out team bamf first, but then they jumped ship to their own forum. So then droidtheory started releasing roms and jumped to him and haven't looked back.
He has a sense and aosp (cm7) version and also dhacker and xpack have released their own versions based off of droidtheory's work.
xpack's senseless rom is very nice. Has the sense base so gps and nfl network work right out of the gate, but no sense (adw launcher instead) so its fast and smooth.

You can't go wrong with DroidTh3orys ROMS.
Root. Now. That way you can make your choice when/if GB actually comes. You can always go back to stock unrooted. You may not be able to root with the new OTA.
Roms? Like many things they are a personal choice that no one can make for you. Having flashed them all, I can tell you they have improved dramatically since I got my bolt in May. If you choose to root, do yourself a favor and try several. You will find the Rom that suits your taste and needs.

100% agree with this guy.
Us leaving XDA doesn't change anything about the quality of our roms. Fact is, many of our innovations end up in other roms anyway (ask ihtfp69 and erishasnobattery).
You can find us at teambamf.net, or rootzwiki.com.
There are many roms to choose from out there. Try them all, then decide.
Thank you all for your feedback. I made sure to click the Thank You buttons on all of your comments.

Multiple reasons, first and foremost my phone behaved the best with ShiftAO5P. I had a very smooth running phone and an amazing battery life with all the bells and whistles turned on. I've been running dasBamf Roms for a month now and love them. I am currently on UberBamf PR3. every Tbolt is different, so experiment and see what works best for YOU. After you install each ROM, make a back up of it. That way, if you install one, that you don't like, you can revert.
I like a fast, customizable ROM without all the Sense bloat so I use Liquid Thundersense. I've only had this phone for 5 days so I really have no other Thunderbolt ROM to compare it to (I ran Gingeritis for a couple hours and the stock ROM only long enough to download Gingeritis to the device; I just hate Sense lol). As far as it goes though I've owned five Android devices total and have rooted and ran custom ROMs on all of them. Only way to go IMHO.

[Q] Of all the ICS roms available, what are the popular ones with users on here?

Ok, so I've rad the skyICS rom installed for a while and it functions fine. Bugs here and there. Anyways I want to start fresh on an actual ICS rom, but not following the forums for at least a month I am overwhelmed with all the ones available.
Basically all I need is a stable rom with good battery life. If you can point me at ones you think have good battery life I can go from there. Just looking for a little direction.
mhx superlite is really popular, he's a good dev, as well as seancreamz ics - the real thing 4.1 alpha 3. Can't forget team perfection with appdroid and wali01x, my personal fav

following directions sky ice simple as can be no issues and im retarded at times and i managed
def Sky ICS from Seanzscreams. Updates are huge improvements. Couple bugs here and there but overall solid and fast.
I just installed nexusmod ICS zero today its running smoothly and the interface is quite nice.
yeah Seanzscreams's roms are pretty popular I would say.
Seanzscreams ROM's have always been rock solid for me. Buttery smooth, great battery life and the customizations are endless. You can really make it your own. It acts as my nandroid when I want to try out new stuff.
NexusMod ICS Zero for me.

NexusMod ICS Zero is where it's at! Been running the Beta 7 for several days and it is smooth as silk, beautiful and amazing battery life compared to stock.
I am now getting about 32 hours with moderate use. I was lucky if I had 6 hours on the I727 stock Rom!
Do yourself a favour and test it out! You WILL NOT be disappointed!
I've been running sky ics ucld2 build since it came out. It has great battery life and has a lot of options and will make a flash junkie out of you if you aren't already. But I was using mod1441's nexusmod gb before ics leaked and found it suitably stable and I trust his ics rom is just as satisfying. I'd say if you're down for messing around a lot and seeing what you can get your skyrocket to do (which may require a few broken eggs here and there but some really good f'ing omelets) then try sky ics. But keep current with the thread because people are finding new stuff to mess with every day. I've not used the latest nexusmod so I really have no ground to call it "the more conservative choice" but I'd imagine that's the way to go if you want a very nice stable quality rom that is more or less worry free. I've also heard nice things of embryo and alien has it's own very devoted following.

Alien is always a good bet. It all depends on what you are looking for. A ROM like Sky ICS offers heavier theming and add-ons while a ROM like Alien offers a solid and dependable optimized Base with a few upgrades and extras.
