Car player - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Is there some kind of cable i can plug into my car (maybe in the lighter jack?) and play my phone's music?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App

If you have an auxiliary port in your car, you can plug in your phone. Pretty much if you can plug in your ipod then you can plugin your phone.

yeah my previous car had that and i loved it. now my new car doesnt and yeaah lol

Sounds old school, but you could plug in the cassette things and attach it to your phone.

Like bkoon you can use the Casette adapter if you have a tape player in there or you can get an FM transmitter or you can buy a auxillary output connector if your current head unit will allow it.

Thanks for the help guys!

[Q] Is there any way I can connect my phone to my car's speakers?

I'm don't want to make a lot of music CDs for my car, I was wondering if there is any way I can connect my phone's mp3 player to the car speakers?
Does your car have an aux input? (typically two inputs - white and red), or possibly even jack input.
No idea :|
I only know of that "input" that fires cigaretes where you can connect the mini usb charger for the desire
I have a peugeot 307
Edit: nvm i checked on the net and it seems i have neither of those inputs. Just a simple CD player and fm radio.
Any other way?

so, do you not have a cigarette lighter input? you really should do lol. what car do you have?
you have a few options though.
if you don't have an aux input or anything like a headphone jack sort of input then you can get Belkin FM transmitter. I've just done a quick amazon search and one has come up specifically for desire, which could be good - one good review on amazon. However, I've never tried it.
Specifically for Desire: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Generation-...GTAI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292787497&sr=8-1
If not, try the Belkin FM transmitters. There's a few different types, mainly for iPod/iPhone which are called iTrips. But obviously, don't get that if its for your Desire. Just search for Belkin FM Transmitter and make sure it has a headphone jack not an iPhone/iPod connection.
Word of warning, FM Transmitters work on the principle that you set the frequency on the 'gadget' then tune your FM Radio into that frequency on the car. Best way to do it, out of past use, is to have it right next to the radio and use the volume controls on the phone more than on the radio itself.
If you don't have a cigarette lighter, you can get one without it which will work, but not as well.
Hope this helps.

Bluetooth carkit with aux inputs is the way to go mate (3.5mm plug and iphone plug are pretty much standard these days), whilst you're at it get a suction screen mount too. Permanent handsfree!!

A stereo with aux-in slot should be more than enough tho (bt ones are a little more expensive), you can grab one with less than 80$.
cheap solution
my car player has AUX in therefore i just connect a 3.5mm Stereo Audio Cable Male-Male (1-Meter) cable and connect the player and my HTC Desire. Its so far good and clear.
I had a Peugeot 307 and it had an AUX in 3.5 socket, it was in the center of the car between the seats on the back of the console bit not on the stereo it's self.

FM wireless transmitter
Hi there
Depending in which country you are you could by a small FM transmitter that you plug into the Desire and listen through your car FM radio.
They are permitted in the UK, but not in many other countries. I got mine from TK Maxx... (hahaa!) for £9.99 and the sound in my car is almost as good as my cd player!
Go to Amazon, Ebay... theres plenty there!
My head unit unit syncs with my phone via bluetooth so I play music that way.
On previous phones/stereos I had an rca to 3.5mm cable that I ran from the phone to thee aux input on the back of the head unit.

USB Audio?

I just bought a 2013 Nissan Altima with the technology package. I'm picking the car up on Thursday and I just ordered an S3. In the center console, there is a USB audio port. Will I be able to utilize the USB to play either music on the SD card or Pandora?
I think you would need the dongle to get audio out of the USB but that cars radio should pick up Bluetooth if not it may have the input headphone jack in dash
Congrats on a new car

Yes, it does have Bluetooth audio. I wonder if the text will show on the radio with Bluetooth though?
I bought the ibolt car dock. It has a 9' cable that splits into two.. one USB and one aux cable. I also just upgraded my stereo in my truck that has a USB & aux. It is suppose to be able to stream music through either. When I hooked up the stereo, I plugged in both. I called the ibolt co. And they said its probably confusing the head unit. Either way... it's super to play through either one. BT works awesome.

And on mine, it does have artist and song info on the deck (BT) with Pandora, Google music or iheart. Sirius won't show doing info though.

You won't be able to mount your phone like you could other devices without some tinkering, using the cars usb port. It will charge the phone, albeit slower than some cig lighter usb chargers you can buy.
Via bluetooth you should be able to see the text while playing the music. Even use the stereo controls. This is on the upgraded sound system mind you. With nav i know you are golden, with technology and non nav, not 100% certain. Just make sure you have A2DP (bluetooth audio, not just bluetooth phone) and you should be ok.

FM transmitter app? Looking for a good one

Looking for an fm transmitter app for my phone to play on my car radio. Car is older so no aux input jack...99 nissan sentra. Anyone know of any? Thanks in advance
I don't think there is a standalone app for that. You need to buy hardware, such as a Motorola T505.
You have a tape deck? My 02 camary has CD and tape. I use one of those tape tape deck adapters.
Edit. Didn't see the app part.

I believe you need an actual piece of hardware that is an FM transmitter. I dont believe the phone is capable of doing that on its own. Another route you could go is getting a bluetooth receiver and either plugging it into an AUX jack or installing it into the car.

They do have something out that plugs into your phone and cig lighter port that will charge your phone and you can tune it to a radio station to pick up the sound. The only problem with this is finding a dead open air station. Any radio static will interfere and distort the stream. Your other option is to upgrade your head unit with one that has Bluetooth/Aux
This may assist you. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/connect-android-phone-car-audio-system/

I have this one. It works really well! The FM transmitter is built in so all you have to do is pair it through bluetooth. As Deliquified said, the only problem can sometimes be to find an empty station.
I would suggest just dropping $50 for a new car stereo with an AUX input. All fm transmitters i've ever had have sounded like garbage.
Unless you're one of the lucky ones with the stereo built into the dash and would need expensive modifications to change. In that case I would just suggest headphones.

The use of headphones, while driving, is illegal in many states.
Thanks alot for the replys fellas. I think i may just buy a cheap head unit with the aux built in. Tjat may be the easiest way for the best results.

Try scoche. They make a unit for older radios that don't have an aux input. It allows a2dp, phone over stereo, etc. Google scoche, get to their page and look around. I'm not at a computer right now to give you better details. My Buddy has one in an 04 trailblazer.

Ive tried the fm transmitters and have yet to find one that works well by where I live (city area) n I didn't want to replace my stock heading being outta a double din 6 disk mp3 changer with satellite radio but no bt or aux port so I went on Amazon and got a hardwired aux port adapter for 50 dollars and it works great, just for it to work I had to disconnect am radio and use that for aux mode...works great but if you deed need a decent amount of electronic knowledge if your going to install it yourself...def not cut and dry at least not in my truck, but well worth it....I even ran to port to where my dash holder is so I don't need to run wires across the dash if I'm using the gps...pot a charging port right next to it as well so all I need is 2 6in cables...but of work but if you plan on having the car for a while it's well worth it...I just have no am radio...but never use it anyway...n just so you know some haunts have a built in aux port in the back so you may want to check that too before you buy anything

Apps can only make use of features that exist in hardware. But according to me there in no any hard ware are available which support directly in car to store the apps and use it. Sp please assemble new device.
Hooking up an Android phone in this way is simple. If a USB cable was provided with the audio system then simply connect your phone with a suitable adapter. Otherwise identify the USB port on the device and connect your Android handset.

Car Charger + Aux Out - Is it even possible?

Is this type of device even possible for an Android phone? If so, does it exist anywhere? I want to avoid using bluetooth (want to save battery) or FM transmission (want better audio quality).
http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-TuneFlex-Charger-SmartClick-Remote/dp/B001OI2VG8
I'm sure you still need to run an aux cord from the mount to the head unit lol. Just get a car charger and use blue tooth or use both a charger and an aux cord. Maybe I don't understand what you are asking. But those mounts would only come specifically for your phone because androids have their holes all over the phone.

Guess I'll just have to install this and get a mount:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GROM-USB-IP...&fits=Make:Nissan&vxp=mtr&hash=item1c313fecb6
Essentially what I already have but it's for iPod/iPhone.
Depending on what kind of car you have it might just be worth it to buy a new head unit that includes the use and aux connections. Check with crutchfield.

Earphone attachment?

I am currently using my note 4 to listen to music on the way to and from work and while the earphones are good I have a pair I bought that are sports style and hook over the back of my ears which is useful for me as I ride a motorcycle to work with helmet and this stops them falling out when I put my helmet on however I'd love to be able to use the remote features of the in-line controls on the stock earphones. Is there such an attachment (cable) that I plug into the phone and then in turn can plug my earphones into that has this that can be used?

For some reason, I'm having trouble deciphering what you are looking for. I don't have stock headphones (I think only certain Note 4 models came with them... mine didn't), but I assume they're basic in-ear headphones. You also mention wanting to be able to use the controls on the headphones. But you can't currently? Is that right?
I just need to clarify what you need and I may be able to help. I'm constantly looking for accessories for my and my family's phones. Are you looking for an attachment to keep the headphones in your eyes with a helmet on, an extension cable between the headphones and the phone, a remote extension to control the phone with the headphones, or are you looking for a new set of headphones to meet your needs?

So exactly like you said. Not after new ones

Possible. I prefer wired myself as I don't have to make sure it's charged to use then. I've a habit of forgetting to charge things like that more often than not.
I had seen something that is what i'm after but for iPhone but I'm not 100% as to if it would work on the note 4
