I wana install clock from tw on humble rom but till now i have had no luck.
I cant find a solution.
On gummycharged i loved the option on gummy toolbox where i just pressed i and type in the name of the app ad it would install it with no problem.
Now is there a way to do this on humble?
Does it have a toolbox?
Is there an app that installs those apps
Or a solution to do this?

no you would have to use a file manager like root explorer to take the .apk of what you want and put it where it needs to go (a clock I think would go in /system/app)
Really?
How is this made so easy on toolbox?
Is here a way to install gummytoolbox on humble just to use that feature?

Kejar put a lot of work into what looks like just 'automating' the process with the Gummy Toolbox (for lack of a better word ), but I don't know how it works as that is beyond my android knowledge... as for using the toolbox on another rom, it can't be done and I don't think Kejar would even want to try

what file manager are you using? you need to enable the option for read/write or 'r/w', preferably through a 3rd party app... Root Explorer is a paid app, but there's Super Manager, Astro File Manager, or ES File Manager that are free and will do the same thing

EDIT: I realize that I messed up the title. I meant to write if we could replace the current HTC messaging app with the vanilla one.
Title says it all. I've gotten used to HTC's way of things but I'd really, really prefer the vanilla experience. Since we don't have S-OFF or custom AOSP roms yet, can we at least replace the MMS.apk on our Sensations with the vanilla one?
Bump. Does anyone have a clue? It's apparently been done on, for example, the G2. I'd really rather have stock messaging app.

Thanks for the answer. I guess this is another reason to anticipate S-OFF!
Right.....
Or how about you just install it with a file manager. Then disable the notifications from htc messagin app

I followed these steps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11050253&postcount=2 and used the Mms.apk provided there, which should be the 2.3 vanilla messaging app.
Everything went fine when copying over to the phone, etc., but when trying to actually open the app on my phone it force closes from the start. It does show the vanilla mms.apk icon though, the green text bubble with the smiley. If I could get this to stop force closing and actually open/work, I'd be happy!
I'll get you a link to one.

It's not gonna work. U can't "install" it. U have to put it in system
Yeah you have to copy it to your system apps with a file explorer...

If you have Root Explorer or any other explorer, then try to copy and paste it to /system/app/ and reboot the phone. Hope that helps.

Won't work ppl. We don't have perm yet. I don't think it would work even then if I remember correctly
It should work as we have temp root which last till the reboot. And if not then you cant just use adb to either install or push. There should be ways around this. :/

No, I am still interested. I've just been away from the computer. I'll try with root explorer.
Just in case some were not aware, but, Touchwiz works pretty darn well on the GB infused ROM.
Link----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061883
I downloaded his TW4 Manager and used the update feature in it to install the touchwiz but I didn't know that it would replace my current. When I did that, and tried to use the default msg app, touchwiz force closes every time you start doing something. So to fix that, I uninstalled TW4 Manager and went to system/app in root explorer and deleted the extra name it added to TouchWiz30Launcher.apk, and then it didnt force close anymore. I don't know if anyone else will have this problem but theres my fix for it.
*********EDIT*********
Some people are getting force closes and most is my fault for incorrectly giving instructions. Sorry.
A way to do it is just rename touchwizlauncher30.apk to something that would change its file extension. Like adding a letter after the .apk and then going to applications/manage applications in the setting then go to all and make sure you have all apps named touch wiz uninstalled and then go to the touchwiz site and just download the basic apk. Not touchwizmanager but just touchwiz4.apk or whatever the correct name is and copy it to system/apps and the click it and install it while still in the folder. Ultimatly, I ditched touch wiz 4 because it was causing my phone to reboot randomly when something was using too much resources. Make sure you have a back up launcher installed like go launcher or something in case you don't like touchwiz and decide to uninstall it from apps/manage apps/all because you wouldn't have a launcher left to do anything. If you want your original touchwiz back just go to system/apps and remove the extra things you added and make sure it says TouchWiz30Launcher.apk I'm not entirely sure if that last part about getting original touchwiz back would work since I ditched it too and just use go launcher but it should in theory work. Sorry for the inconvenience peoples.
*********EDIT*********
Another way to possibly install it without getting force closes would be to just download the TW4Launcher.apk and just copy it to system/app
I find this alot less laggy than the touchwiz that came with Infused V2. Hope yall like it as much as me.

Not really sure about this. I checked TWManager for the SGS2 widgets and it was empty. SGS1 widgets were there though.. Maybe he pulled them out or something for editing I guess.
I hope someone can figure it out or he tells us how he got them to work. That was the only reason I downloaded tw launcher 4.5

Sorry for my dumb question but what widgets are that good? I haven't bothered to check the sgs2 out as I'm pretty satisfied with my infuse
Loving tw 4.5, coupled with gtg's rom and bedwa's kernel it is very snappy. Launcher pro still is a bit more customizable, but tw looks cleaner and more sharp.
Infused with gingerbread **** thanks GTG465X
This also works well on Indused v1 Froyo. As for the widgets, I searched the Galaxy S (I9000) Themes and Apps forum. I've got 10 widgets from the SGS II. They all install, but some of them don't fuction completely. Don't know how I could share them here.

TW4 launcher and ssgii widgets
Ok here are the links for everything you need to get ssg2 widgets to work.
Download the the TW4.zip and flash via CWM this will flash TW4 and ssgii widgets. This will give you that simple looking clock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14907138&postcount=549
Download this zip file from here http://forum.mobilism.org/viewtopic.php?f=444&t=207696 This contains the weather widget. Everything else in that zip is useless. Unless you want to use them.
and use this mirror http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WKTF4Q90 The other ones are ****e.
Using a file manager of some sort ie esfile explorer or root explorer. Extract the gs2app.zip and pull this file out "SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk.zip" and pull that file within that zip and place it into system/app
That should do it. Instructions are pretty straight forward.
Please hit 'thanks' if this has helped at all.

Gonna jump in here instead of making a new thread. My wife likes the stock launcher better than the one with GumyCharge2.0. How do I go about getting that back? Do I just need to install a rooted stock ROM, rather than GC2.0? Reason I ask is because she only NEEDS a rooted ROM, nothing else fancy.
Put this file in /system/app folder with root explorer. Then press home button and chose TWlauncher. You can then uninstall or freeze launcher2 with titanium backup.

Hi, i am new here to XDA Dev, and i have a request:
The stock messaging app on the GS4G, is it possible to replace it with a different stock messaging app? I dont like how the layout looks like. I previously had a Motorola Cliq, and absolutely loved the messaging UI on it. Perhaps its possible to make a port over? or something at least similar, in some graphical way?
Remove mms.apk. replace with the mms app if you're choice. I use go SMS Pro. Drunk, so its that don't make sense ... W/e.

Could you use root explorer to add an .oog audio file in the sub folder and name it something?Or go into system/bin. Open the boot animation file with the correct program and ad a line to lead to the audio file? I know really in depth but an idea. Might also have to link to framework which is to much trouble for me atleast as I dont have that kind of brains.
