[Q] Nexus S Screen rough - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I got the nexus s a couple of weeks ago it was just fine but now the screen just feels hard to swipe on if I have mildly moist/sweaty hands. It also happens when I apply pressure on the screen
My question is why is the screen so hard to swipe on is my oleophobic coating wiped off? Or is every nexus s just like that?
The thing is it becomes hard to just swipe sometimes because it feels like an effort everytime I move my hand across the screen.
Just for info I never put on a screen protector on this phone

HTC Official Screen Protector - odd

Came today from Play.
It is very odd has a cut out at top left (as if something underneath the glass requires a clear "signal") and a hole cut for the LED to shine through.
All in all a bit strange for £5 for 2.
Does it effect the screen quality in anyway? And does it help with fingerprints? I'm looking to get a new screen protector cos the one I got reduces screen quality by too much. (hint: avoid the forever fitters screen protectors!)

I just bought one recently and it's still shipping. Hope it won't reduce the screen sensitivity by too much. It's already perfect by default.

The proximity sensor and the ambient light sensor is to the left of the HTC logo.
Proximity sensor?

It's what turns the screen off when you hold the phone to your ear during a phone call, and what turns it back on when you bring the phone back down.
Take my advice. Do NOT buy this screen protector. I have just tried to fit two and failed both times. £5 vanished.
Why?
It is what I'd call a literal fit - in other words there is no margin between the protector and the actual screen. That makes it almost impossible to get right first time - and as you will know, with a screen protector, first time is best. The protector will almost certainly overlap the screen microscopically, riding up at the edge, leaving air pockets you won't be able to get out. Take if off to apply again and hello dust.
It also seems to be much more prone to bubbling than the non HTC one I'd put on before. Wish I'd left it on.
Am considering not bothering since I have an HTC case and it is glass not plastic.
But bloody annoying.
Has no one else noticed the little circle thing in the top left ish of the device??
First time i saw it i thought it was a camera but obviously isn't.
Then thought maybe it used for auto brightness or something like that?
its in the top left, in line with the htc logo, about a cm in from the left.
Have to have the screen off, and look very close.
Read the thread - proximity sensor apparently

Exactly my experience too, I couldn't have put it better myself. Waited two months for this POS.
I think the only real solution is trim it on one side very slightly....
Just put mine on today too. Most unimpressed compared to the cheap pack of 6 from Germany. Fingerprint magnet and difficult to clean them off. I had to put the second one on straight away too, due to the fit, but considering putting one of the cheap ones back on!
AVOID.
Exactly so. That's what I've done

It's perfectly normal, moisture doesn't play nicely with the coating.

[Q] Apps Opening Without Touching

I had Lollipop for about a week now. Since I had it, the Dialer app opened once when the phone was on the Home screen and I picked it up off a desk. Then a couple hours ago, I had the Google Now page up and when I moved the phone to show someone, one of the cards opened. So both times that it happened, the phone was in motion. Has anyone seen this happen before?
I would recommend cleaning your screen with a microfiber cloth and very little rubbing alcohol. If you have a screen protector, it may be time to replace it.
Another thing, turn off the screen and look at the glass(touch screen) under a bright light and check for micro-cracks.
No screen protector and no micro cracks that I can see. Thanks for the tip.

how do i remove stain lines across screen?

my screen has this 3 marks across (something like when u swipe across the screen with a dirty finger and it leaves the print of swipe) which is caused by the Samsung screen protection film that you have to peel off when you first get your phone. but I had left it on as I have yet to buy a screen protector and occasionally it would peel off but I would just press it back and I guess that's how I got the 3 lines at the place where it peeled off and I stuck it back after finally deciding to do without that film thing.
I've been trying to remove the marks thus I used a micro fibre cloth to wipe the screen and also tried using scotch tape on it too. it would disappear but after using it awhile it would return again which gets quite irritating as sometimes it would be noticeable when the screen is off under the sun. I'm currently refraining from using alcohol wipes as I heard it damages the oleophobic coating.
Was wondering if anyone has any idea how else to remove the marks. anything would be appreciated thanks!
Edit: finally managed to get pictures of the streaks that wont disappear. http://imgur.com/a/yPoxw

Are these scratches on my screen or smth else? (photos and video)

Hi guys! I have an issue with my screen on OnePlus 7 Pro, and I'm not really sure what this is. I never had a thing like this on other phones, my OnePlus 6 had a few scratches, but they never behaved this way. And the thing doesn't even look like a scratch but more of a huge print that doesn't go away.
Here is a picture - imgur.com/a/Smb6rvF After about month of having a phone and it always being in the case and with the default screen protector I've started noticing the image distortion in the same place from time to time, you know like a huge fingerprint or grease on the screen but it would appear at the same place. I thought okay, maybe I've scratched the screen so that I can remove the screen protector and it should be fine. So I did, but the thing stayed there as if it was either placed through screen protector or from the other side. And again, it's not that I never saw a scratch or a crack on the screen, but never this thing.
Then after about a week, the thing grew, you can see the blue line here - imgur.com/a/UI4FQTA
the red one was the initial one that I saw even with screen protector on, and the blue just grew out of the old one. Like I pull the phone from the pocket one day, and it's there. And not like I'm wearing and tearing the phone, just regular stuff - in jeans, inside pocket of the jacket, in the sealed pocket in the backpack. And I live in a big city, and I never notice any sand or small particles on the screen or the case. And it doesn't look like a scratch, but more as if the prints just bound to the screen and don't go away.
imgur.com/a/OnPSqj2 - is a more closeup shot. And again you wouldn't notice the thing at the start of the day when I clean my screen, but by the end, it will collect some grease and more prints and will be showing.
Here's a video what happens when I clean the screen -

FYI warranty or anything like that is out of the question since, I bought it during the holiday travel, and the phone is not officially sold in my country. I just wanted to know if there is any solution for this and how to prevent this from happening? Are these scratches but look different because of the new Gorilla Glass version or something like that?
Any help or advice is appreciated, just sad a thing like that happened so early in the life cycle
