What's the best recovery fit the sensation - HTC Sensation

I've seen about three different recoveries floating around I was wondering which one would be the best to use

Well it depends (the charging while off issue). I use the blue revolutionary and have no prob with it, never did on cwm 4.0.1.5 either. There's also the new cwm 5.sum and that it restores/backs up much faster and confirmed to charge while off.
So I guess now its a personal preference on which one u wanna use
Sent by my feau gee

CWM 5.0.0.1 works great, but so did the blue 4.0.1.4, I agree, it is personal choice.

I would go with your standard clockwork mod. It is compatible with almost every ROM out there. I use the yellow(orange) clockwork mod but I believe the blue one works the same. Happy Hacking!

DSP for the rest of us

one of the great things about cm7 is their system wide dsp. I use Spotify for my music and with streaming gaining popularity the included music apps get used less and less.
Currently I am on a sense based rom and am wondering if there are any Good dsp mods like the dsp in cm7 that work system wide out there for the rest of us?
I think there is a flashable somewhere in the sensation section for aosp dsp. And I think there's also a thread already asking (and has the link to it). But I'm on my mobile right now, and so searching for it won't get very decent results. But I know it's on here, as I have downloaded and flashed it before.

But I am not on asop rom.. Are you saying it has been ported to work on the sense roms?
Melvins sense based ROM had it.
Found and flashed the one from this thread Seems to be working.
Amazing!

If the camera and some of the contact integration was as good in cm7 as it is in sense I would. But I take alot of pics and video with my camera.

[Q] Help me choose a custom ROM?

Hi all
I know other people have posted similar threads, but not with (somewhat obviously) the same personal requirements. Here's what I'm looking for:
1) A ROM compatible with the O2 UK network.. yes, I know it pretty much should be anyway, but I've used an O2 ROM on my Desire S in the past and the voicemail speeddial was set to the Spanish number. It's unlikely to be an issue assuming I can set the speeddial assigned to 1 on the keypad - but still.. My voicemail number is 901.
2) No custom screens - ie. I don't want it to be apparent that the phone is running a custom ROM, so no personalised loadup screens (although I'm possibly open to different icons assuming I can see what they look like before I install the ROM).
3) Bloatware removed. I don't even have any intention of using Facebook or Twitter.
4) General speed improvements alongside greater stability, if possible.
5) Optimum battery life! At the moment, I get three days at a stretch out of my Sensation with no background data and light to medium useage. I conditioned the battery to get this and am fairly happy with it, but would like a very comfortable three days if possible. I think I easily got this before I installed the latest official software update and now no longer do.
Is that all hoping for too much? Thanks for your help in advance.
schnide
EddyOS 2.08 rom, pretty much stock but bloat free and with a couple improvements.

Now, people have asked you to use normal colour for text but you still use cyan, so from now on every post of yours I come across will be reported if it's in cyan. Please, there is absolutely no need for that colour to be used all the time.

A New Way to Achieve Root & S-Off?

I know some are having problems achieving root and S-OFF on their MT4G's that ship with 2.3.4.
A dev named Frigid has made a pretty powerful program that does that for you in no time.
Here's the link: http://itechnow.com/root-s-off-unlo...-3g4g-inspire-awesome-with-htc-super-tool-v2/
Obviously all credits go to him, so maybe that might be of help to some new users having problems downgrading and such.
Holy crap. Can anyone confirm this works on 2.3.4?
Nice find by the way.

My comment in another thread:
Jack_R1 said:
If they're just using gfree "as is" - then it won't work on Panache, and won't work on MT4G either. Unless gfree was updated and I don't know of a new version, it can't deal with 0.89.0005 bootloader on MT4G with Android 2.3.4 and on Panache.
Judging by the comments, the author of the script just grabbed several tools and put them together in one menu, he didn't change any of them and most of the comments state that this "tool" doesn't work for their phones.

Read the tool's thread.
Looks like no easy breakfast this time...
Sooo, its nothing new. Lame.
Sounds like "Tool" is definitely the operative word.

Pretty dam close, maybe one or two small minor things.

No ROM is completely bug-free, but Sense 3.0 and 3.5 ROMs are much better than stock.

They're shinier but 3.5 has the most bugs out of all of the roms available for this phone besides ICS & HC

Didn't find them yet. I guess it depends on a specific ROM. I'm using VA 1.48.
In VU 2.39 I found 3 bugs. 1 visual, 2 made me switch to Sense 3.5 eventually, one was fixed (flash in camera on auto settings), one wasn't crashing the phone anymore (calendar events in Exchange mail - 1st recipient changed).

Choose revelation if you like HTC sense and sense features. Choose cm 10.2 if you want stock android and something that is lighter and not as heavy as sense. If I were you, I would try revelation for a week, and then cm10.2 for a week, and compare the ROMs. By the way, cm10.2 has more free ram than revelation (624 mb on android1234567's ROM)

@ OP like said above, only u can decide. U mite get another 20 posts here split 50/50 for sense and 10.2 which makes this thread useless, Im one of the sense fans but what i would say is flash a 10.2 rom (dunno which one is most stable but id prob go albinoman) anyway use that for few days r week and then when TeamVenom release their sense 5 rom, flash that n see if u wana go back
(p.s i dont actually know when sense 5 will be released, i just assume it will be soon)
If you're a true flashologic, even when you chose one of them, you'll end up bouncing back and forth. We're never satisfied Although we can stick with a rom we find "almost perfect" for a good while, we end up bouncing and try different stuff. Some people go back to CM after navigating through sense roms for a while, others do the other way around.
In the end, only you will know which feels more comfortable or it's according to your needs.
PS - And don't worry, you don't have limited time to chose, just try them and decide when you feel like.
Well, I think CM doesn't look as good as Sense on sensation. It just looks like it wasn't made for it. Sense therefore looks perfect on it. I think it has to do with the round corners, the design etc... Just my opinion..
