For quite some time now (running CM7 Nightlies) my screen will turn off and not turn back on. I've flashed nightlies for a few months now and the problem is consistent. Does anybody know of a workaround for this?

There was some discussion about something like this in the cm7 nightly thread. You'll probably get your best answers from that thread.

Hi, I've been lurking for answers regarding a Wi-Fi problem that I have on ANY gingerbread ROMs that I tried and I found no solution. Hence this new thread.
My Wi-Fi will not stay awake and will turn itself off (EVEN when it's set to NEVER sleep) a couple of minutes after the screen goes off. I tried many, if not all Wi-Fi lockers and none worked. The problem is that when I'm listening to streaming radio, for example, the data will switch from Wi-Fi to 4G without any warning. Asking Tasker to let the screen on work but gee, it's a workaround that uses a lot of battery. (Oh also, I asked Tasker to let my WiFi on and it didn't work neither.
The funny thing is: I have not this problem with Froyo. Only with Gingerbread. I tried the OTA 2.3.3, the Trigger ROM (from CM7), the Cyanogen RC1, nightly 97,98,99,100,101,102 and 103 ROMs, the KANG rom... NO one worked...
HELP!!
I have a P999.
Thanks!
I hope one of our amazing devs can fix this annoying bug.

Hi guys,
Since about a month, my Nexus S sometimes (often) does not allow me to answer the phone when it rings : I can see the caller, I have the buttons to answer, the screen is animated as intented, but the phone does not accept any input from me, as if the "touch" part of the screen were desactivated.
I have to lock and unlock it to be available to answer.
I have this phone since may, and it happens since about a month
I had this issue with MIUI ans ICS (kwiboo v3, with franco kernel)
I've experienced this on nscollab as well. Running latest Glados kernel, if that helps. Not annoying enough to get me to change though.

Having that problem too on stock rom!
Have to turn off and on the phone to answer a call...

No, it does not bother me so much, but if I take time to answer, I may miss a call...
Just have discovered that this has been already posted several times to the Android Issue database:
code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13853 (Jan 8, 2011)
code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=18377 (Jul 10, 2011)
code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=18454 (Jul 12, 2011)
To give it some priority, you should "star" the issue (without posting simple "me-too" messages).
Hope it will get fixed, as it is quite annoying... maybe with ICS!
I still have the issue with official ICS.
An answer has been posted on one of the tickets :
Starting to suspect static electricity.
The unresponsive areas of the display usually works fine after a "close-steamy-breath". Like the one you do before wiping the display clean. Another thing that works on my Nexus S (both 2.3.x & 4.0.3) is to wait without touching the display for 6+ seconds.

I'm not really conviced, since everything works just with a lock/unlock, but I'm not a specalist...
on every single cm7, or cm7 based rom, i get the same problem, when i dim the screen, then turn it back on nad black screen. backlight is on, but screen is not. to run any new bb rom i have to use a special kernel so kernels cannot be used. The thing is, after 2 or 3 times, the screen comes on, or if i tap the screen it comes on.
but i tried fundoozzz's miui pureveiw which i now assume is based of cm7, and guess what, the screen does not come on-at all.
any suggestions

i would switch to rashed97's cm10 rom, its way more stable than all the other stuff, and it has a version for each optimus phone
Exactly,, what is the fix you found...
Do you tested on your lg thrive?

The kernels included multiple black screen bug fixes, I assumed the could work, but my thrive did not like them, my color was way off and stuff like that. Black screen persists but depends on ROM I think. Give it a go and don't forget, backup everything.

i only had that problem on. cm9, try gingersnap 2.3, it doesnt has that problem
i would really like to use fundoozz's miui pureview rom, it has the issue, i doubt it is based of cm7 but it is GB, i have no freaking idea what the problem could be, but still looking, also plz help me, get a cm7 rom that has the issue and try finding a fix for it by testing.
Thanks,
I'm running Rootbox (v3.9.1) and a few times, the phone just freezes during a phone call, and battery has to be pulled.
Have you seen anything like this? Could this be related to the kernel?

It's happened to me on Carbon as well as Liquidsmooth. It's probably related to Cyanogenmod (since most (if not all) AOSP ROMs are based off of CM).
sent from my anthraxed GS3 with MOAR goodness
Thank you us for the confirmations. I've noticed this is other AOSP roms and have given up, I hope it gets fixed by CM team soon.
Yeah sadly for that exact reason I had to ditch aosp hope they fix it . usually j would talk on the phone but when I hit the 5min mark my phone would freeze and either stay on or stay off then a couple mins later the call would get dropped and u would have to do a battery pull and what not I was running carbon 1.6.1

i can confirm that changing to the dark theme gives 1 hour boost to battery, i think its related to the amoled screen.

I was just surprised when I came across the Xt1080mdev
PACman nightly build and I didnt hear any news about it like the CM11 nightlies. Was never really expecting to much support for the droid maxx so any is appreciated... Thank you PACman devs!
EDIT: and at least they support active display
Bugs found so far... anyone else?
I have had the PacMan ROM installed for the past week since unlocking & rooting my Maxx.
I have found when in a phone call and using speakerphone if you try to switch back to regular handset use it will mute audio and freeze the touchscreen and buttons from working. The phone call stays active but the other person can't hear you though you can hear them. The only remedy was to reset holding down + power.
I have been able to recreate this issue three times now.
Other then that I have only had two crashes where is says something to the effect of, "something failed blame it on split screen"
This has happened twice usually when quickly switching between apps or menus.
HAs anyone had any other issues?
ROM used:
pac_moto_msm8960dt-nightly-20140303
...and while I was typing this I saw there are new nightly builds. :silly:
Still it would be nice to know if anyone has this issue on a later nightly build.
