I am having a problem with Serendipity on my Infuse where I cannot install some apps on the Market due to it being "incompatible with your device". Either that, or sometimes the install button is missing altogether.
Such apps include Facebook, Minimalist text, Friendcaster Pro, and the list goes on. I read somewhere that it had to do with Market incorrectly identifying your Android version (2.3) and disabling the install for apps that only run on gingerbread/froyo. Anyone else have this issue, or any advice? Thanks!
I can't install Roboto, no issues installing Facebook or Friendcaster.

I'm having a problem too. I cannot uninstall or install flash all together! It's driving me nuts cause my flash is not working.
Infuse w serendipity VII
Any idea what to do?
Try uninstalling with Titanium Backup.
That may help with Flash, but it doesn't fix the market problem. Since I'm pretty inactive on the forums, I can't post on the DEV section yet. Could someone post this problem onto the Serendipity Dev Thread? That would be great! Thanks.

I posted directly to the main Miren Browser thread, but as this applies specifically to the FreeX10 ROM, I figured it'd be good to post about here as well.
After installing the FreeX10 (Beta 2) ROM last night, I was getting constant FCs of the following apps after starting to restore some of my main apps (everything was working fine until then):
- Settings
- Google Search
- Search
- Market
- android.process.acore
- process.com.google.process.gapps
I re-installed the ROM from xRecovery and tried again. Same as before. Things were working OK until after I restored a selection of app from Titanium Backup, and then constant FCs of the above apps, beginning as soon as the system booted.
Today I once again re-installed the ROM, but this time have been clean installing apps from the market a few at a time. I seem to have traced the problem to Miren Browser, as as soon as it was installed the FCs started, and didn't go away until I uninstalled it and rebooted.
Has anyone else noticed a similar issue?
What rom version did you use before?
Have you tried installing miren browser from the market or with the apk file? How did that work out.

I was using the original Nordic 2.1 firmware (build 2.0.A.0.504) prior to upgrading to to FreeX10 2.2.1 Beta 2.
As for Miren, I tried re-installing it from my Titanium Backup, as well as installing it from the market. Same effect both times.
It's the only one of the 150 or so app I have installed that gave me such troubles. Everything else ran stable.
Deleted, I misunderstand the thread.

It's not just your phone. It happened to me too yesterday. Exact same processes FC'ing all the time. I don't know if it was Miren Browser to blame for me too but I did install it and was also getting Force Closes related to the browser.
I'll reinstall Beta2 shortly to see if it was Miren causing it for me (back on B1 for now).
I had the same problem. Because of Miren Browser my phone was going crazy with lots random FCs

So I just got my Gtablet, and I love it. Put CWM v8 on it and TNT Lite 4.2.2. The only question I have is when I go into Family Accounts and try to add an account the settings app force closes. Anyone know of a fix?
anyone?

Yeah...did that, no luck. Nothing specific to my problem. com.android.settings is what force closes with an error in the log about no having an app linked....
I would like to know if there is a fix for this as well.
permissions fix may help
I would download rom manager and use its fix permissions tool. RM is a good place to start when random or weird fcs happened. DO NOT FLASH A NEW RECOVERY WITH ROM MANAGER. I download, fix permissions, uninstall. If you try to back up your rom from rom manager it will ask you to update your recovery and if you do that you WILL brick your device.
Or you could restore a backup and reflash your rom.
Good luck
did you ever get this fixed?
fix is here!
Does enabling/fixing this give you separation of accounts? ie, does it keep e-mails and or facebook logins, etc separate?
What exactly DOES the Family accounts do?
Sorry, I never actually ran the stock ROM. I've been on TNTL and/or Vegan since the day I got the Tablet.
I know that there are tons of threads about this but none of them have helped. My market just will not work. It shows it downloading, then displays the message "Download failed" for a split second and disappears.
I have an HTC Desire (BravoC/CDMA) with the latest version of CyanogenMod 7 Nightly and ClockworkMod 2.5.0.9 for recovery. I also have Firerat's Custom MTD Partition. Details and links to all these can be found in my signature.
I feel like I've tried everything. Uninstall updates, Installed latest GApps, Installed old versions of GApps, Installed leaked versions of Gapps, cleared cache, formatted device.
This has been happening since the new market website was released. It really sucks, I can't update any apps or download any new apps.
If anyone can offer any help or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
Try removing SD card then try again. I had the same problem with my galaxy s I removed SD card backup on PC then I formatted it put it back in and market works perfect, don't ask me why but this worked for me

a little weird thing i noticed is,if i have checked the box that allows applications to be download to the external(Apps2sd) whatever i try to download, will be resulted with Unsuccessful. When i unchecked it, my downloads were successful.
See if you have it checked.
I discovered that it was a problem with the CSC file. I had exactly the same issue with a 'mixed up' firmware. Download would not work at all from the market. Anyhow, I flashed the phone (galaxy s) with a different CSC file and the market started downloading.
the only thing I had changed was that file.
So u may want to consider that Hope this helps.
I think there is also a possibility of going to applications --> market, and then stop & clear data.
same situation here...
re-flash the rom and market won't download anything.
But it's strange that I can install apps from web market.
i know i'm at the wrong thread but could somebody help me pls with sgs gingerbread im stuck at on command where it is saying that busybox is not a valid command and thats its not recognized
Thanks for all the suggestions guys, after some time I have discovered what was causing the market issue. It was the Firerat Custom MTD Partition Mod the whole time. Apparently the new version of the market deals with downloads a little differently now and doesn't get along with Firerat's mod.
So now the waiting game begins for a new update from Firerat.
Hi,
NOt a solution, but I found a workaround for this issue on my phone.
I am using Hyperdroid GBX V8 on my HTC HD2 now. From last 2 days I was struggling with this problem. I tried all solutions I found with google. Clearning everything and Reflashing, clearing the market and caches for other apps, reflashing, unmount/mount SDCARD and so on, smaller bigger recovery partition, without EXT3/4 partition.
Still the problem exist on the phone. But I found a workaround. Logon to market.android.com using your google id and password, select the app you want to install and click install. if your phone is up and live, it will be installed in a few seconds.
In other words, pull doesnt work, but push works .
Thanks.
Anil
The phone comes pre installed with twidroyd but its an old version. Has anyone been succesful in updating it? Mines just force closes.
My other question is since we have root now is it possible to delete pre installed apps? Im pretty sure a fresh install of twidroyd would fix the problem.
I loaded tweet deck....

I was having the same problem after updating to 6.0.3, then cleared the app data via Twidroid "Application info", and haven't had any FC's since.
Root, download stock app remover, and reinstall
thanks guys!
I ended up just rooting, removing it, and then downloading the actual Twitter client myself.
is working for me

Same here.
Hi.
Ok, so check this out. Every time I flash a new ROM, I need to go into the MARKET and install all my apps (i don't use many, so it's not that time-consuming).
One day, I installed this GO LAUNCHER. When I flashed my rom again, in some magical way, all my apps were downloaded and installed (NOT restored, but re-installed fresh).
I do not know how the Go Launcher did this, since this happens before I even to to the market and install it after a fresh rom. Magic!
In any case, this stopped happening for some reason when I did my last flash (Weapon).
My question is - is there an APP that does this?
Again, i do NOT wish to RESTORE my apps. I wish for the MARKET to download all the apps was using (FRESH install them).
Is there a way to do this without GO Launcher?
Thanks
Whats supposed to happen is that Android is supposed to automatically download and reinstall your apps. The problem is that it doesn't always work. In fact, it has never worked correctly. Its really a hit or miss.
I think the reason is because everytime you do a fresh install of Android, it includes an old version (usually 2 or 3 versions back) of the Android Market. So the first thing it does is upgrade Market and I believe that is where it messes up with the restoring of apps.
ICS has supposedly fixed this issue.

THANK YOU!!!
Best way I've found is to make a backup of whatever rom you are on with all your apps and do a selective restore for the Data only from cwm, should put everything back including your google account.
I've done it many times between roms and have had no noticeable issues, but I can't guarantee you won't.
I haven't checked with a fresh rom install but i believe titanium can now push the updated version of software into the rom.
Meaning on your list you would see two listings of gmail.. The old and then the updated. If you pushed them into the rom and did a nandroid i wonder if the newer version of the app stays.
