just a few minutes ago, i just checked out of curiosity if there are any updates for my Sensation (running stock 2.3.4 1.45.401.2) and surprise!!!
a small somewhat 410kb update is available, dealing something about better SD-Card cach controlling.

Just checked mine, and got an update also. "low memory wizard" app was installed but doesn't appear in any list, so guessing its just one that pops up when you've run out of app flash space

Thats the one i was Talking about....i noticed once you go unto setting => SD- and Phonememory => you can now per wizard clear app cache

Ah yes.
Seems quite a neat little wizard. Did it do the "apps to SD" beforehand? (didn't use this before now)

I remember the last time (week ago) i tried starting that option, didn't do anything. But now the wizard pops up.

Yes i´ve this function. Don´t know if i have this before. Moved all apps to SD-card and they are still Ok.
Just applied the 1.45 fota UK unbranded and now got this as well

This is what I believe is called "LMW.apk" that was missing in the previuos 1.45 update.

I just updated to 2.3.4 and that wizard is not available. I have not receive the small update yet to fix the wizard.

what do u see after u click on next in the first step ("Only rare used app)?
because for me it just goes to the next step (moving apps to SD) with a little lag....
Ok, I think I got the update then. The app is working fine for me.
I already gotten the new update but I also don't have the memory wizard u guys are talking about. Stock tmobile sensation

It's literally just an app. Not a true OTA update.

Hi guys
I have the leaked froyo on my captivate and also rooted(removed all att bloatware) it as per the numerous posts on xda.
All the data on the sd card is intact , but once I open the gallery , it takes a while and says no items.
Have tried various methods but no luck! All files are available through the my files application.
Individual files open when I click on them. But then I cannot move to the next file.
Can anyone help me out. Thanx!

I had the same problem on shep's rom, but I flashed to cognition and am good to go now. maybe you just need to reflash?

A friend of mine has an Epic and just ran into the same problem. The difference is that he is still running stock. Makes me think your problem is not a Froyo issue. If you find a solution for this then please post an update.
After reanabling media-scanning, my gallery showed pics again.
How do I enable media scanning?

Sure that you don't have the sdcard mounted? (i.e. to your computer..) Or that your phone "thinks" it is mounted when it isnt?
Have you tried having it mount to your computer then disabling it (plug in your usb.. have it show the folder.. then unmount your sdcard and turn off the media in your phone).
Also of course... reboot the phone and pull the battery.
But if all that doesnt work if your using the leaked froyo - odn back to stock and get on Cognition's froyo build. (8.1)

There is a app on the market called Rescan Media ROOT. After removing all worked perfect.

Well you can see whats in update, simple let it download the update but dont continue update process , than go to root of SD card and find that zip and view whats changed.

When I saw update available I hoped it was 2.3.5, but no, Twitter crap.
I got the new market, since these fota, but it comes after install update automaticly!

anyone noticed no more graphic glitches / FCs in Unity-based games (i.e. Samurai Venganace) after this update or it's just me?

HI all my Tmobile mytouch 4g just got a software update to 2.32.531.1 ,its is 24.22 MB .. This inclures new enhancement and importannt security update and wont be deleting any files inside as per the notice, download going on now.. will let u know more on this.

Is there any detailed release notes out there explaining this update? Is it just a better radio driver? anything else?

One thing I noticed is they fixed the crashing problem when trying to open email attachments. I haven't noticed anything else yet.

My MT4G was handed down to a friend and has been getting a system update notification beginning yesterday. I have told her not to let it go through for now, and to write down what the update notification says - if anything.
I had CM& on it, but I reverted back to stock based froyo ROM before I gave it to her - wanted everything working. It also had what was the latest radio (as of a few months back), and faux stock based kernel. and of course CWM.
With all the above, I am surprised it is trying to update - always though you had to revert to all stock (including Recovery). I do not see any benefit in letting it go through, plus from the above post, would also be afraid it might unroot the device, so would like to know that also.

YES. Find the unrooted version and flash that instead. optionally flash the radio separately.

I also received system update to 2.3.4 and downloaded it yesterday. As much as I wanna do what some may have already done (reverting back to froyo > temp/perm root > restore back to gingerbread) that's just seems alot of work. Anybody know whats the status on alternative (easy temp/perm root) for gingerbread 2.3.4? I sure do like to know if it's already in development.

Anyway, i was wondering does the update wipe my phone memory or not. I have plenty of apps installed.
Still downloading though cuz streamyx is damn slow these days.
I believe this should wipe out your phone back to factory setting.
Edit: OK, my friend just updated and it does not wipe out the phone.

Although the RUU I'm going to be mirroring is a different build to this one (3.32.709.108)

Actually I've OTA update my phone twice and no, it will not factory reset the phone so u can update the phone in peace of mind

normally the ota which is a zip file is downloaded and saved into your sdcard/download folder before u begin the update process. After u finish the update the file will be deleted.
EDIT: I'm downloading the update will let u know the OTA file name later......
EDIT 2: guys any idea how big is the OTA file now only 4% lol

I could give you the name since i havent start my update. I already had that zip file copied to my pc. Btw its 293.44mb i assume.

Same here, checked for OTA on 4AM this morning (AEDT), downloaded the file, then let the phone do the job of updating itself. Very happy with the ICS update, fast and smooth
Unlocked, S-OFF, was on GB Asia WWE ROM, CID HTC__044
EDIT: So far no problem at all, no Wi-Fi problem, etc, etc. All run buttery smooth "Force GPU Rendering" option FTW!!!! All animations are now super fast

My phone that I ordered on launch day(and just received earlier today) has software number "1.53.531.16 710RD" ... I have not received any update.

Hmm, when did you get your phone and do you happen to remember what your version was before the update? I just looked at my software version and it's 1.53.531.16 710RD and my phone has not been updated as far as I know. I just got it on Sunday.

this software update is actually the one that has the effected wifi calling battery drain..
not all the phones Tmo initially released has the software with the issues on it.. i was thinking last saturday when i got the notification of the software update it was the fix but after looking over the software version i had a different one and the one they were trying to send me was the bad one so i just ignored the update and didnt run it..
Can you still receive update after rooting or even putting a custom rom on it?

Mine came with 1.53 EU version out of the box in Switzerland and I must wait for the fixed version to be sent.
Can we point on a RUU version which is network errors free?

What state does your phone need to be in to get an update?
It seems most people progress in the following order. At what point do you stop getting updates?
A, Completely Stock
B, + Unlocked bootloader
C, + CWM recovery
D, + Rooted
E, + Custom rom
I know that you'll get it with (A) obviously... and that you won't get it with (E). What about (B), (C), and (D)... what affects whether you get an update or not?
Depends on how customized your ROM is; I still get updates on my kindle Fire with MoDaCo ROMs.

you will still receive ota updates on any rom until you remove the ota service. however, if you have a different recovery or have removed certain system apps the update will fail to apply.

Slightly confused here...
I rooted my S via the HTCDev site, installed CW recovery etc but did not install any ROM yet. Will I be able to get this update from TMO or do I have to unroot and go back to stock to receive it?
I think most likely that that the OP just got a phone with the older pre releae verision of software.
That is the same software mine had out of the box.
