[Q] Which ROM? - HTC Desire S

I am getting this phone as an upgrade for my sister and was wondering which ROM people are recommending? Had the Desire before and that was running CM so something snappy would be ideal

CM,Hydrogen,Miui in that order
For senese roms try vrtuouse unity, lbc

For sense use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1230029

I am using Virtuous Unity beta right now. It is super smooth. De finately check it out if you want Sense 3.0 rom.

I tested a lot of custom roms. i recomand lbc saga 0.6.0. the custom cm adapted for desire s has a lot of bugs...

The best and smooth rom that i ve used was virtuous 2.3.5
I tried MIUI and hydrogen but they always fc com.android.phone

I recommend this ROM: CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1 (v1.0.2) By: NeoLojik
It is very fast and stable. And if you like sense icons, there is a sense-theme at xda.

[Q] Fastest rom out of these?

Hey guys,
i'm new to the android scene and aren't very experienced.
I own a rooted htc desire s and want to use a custom sense rom.
Which one do you would recommend for a normal use of the phone? (RCMix3d Runny S, VoidU S or Virtuous Unity?)
Thank you
VoidU S. I used this ROM for over a week. BEST SENSE ROM EVER.
VoidU is definately fastest! Especially when combined with UnityV9 kernel, overclocked.
Been using it for a while now (changing roms regularly to check what's up).
Thank you very much So i go with the VoidU Rom.
And that Kernel combination? Do I have to instal the Rom first and then install the kernel from the zip? Or at first the kernel and then the Rom?
But VoidU has problems with Whatsapp FC no? so for those of us who use it everyday, which rom you suggest?
VoidU has a solution in the thread somewhere. I'll always reccomend this ROM. imIt's just too good.

best way is to first flash the rom, boot it up and set it up, wait a bit till its fully loaded, and then reboot into recovery and flash the kernel (if u need it, default kernel works fine as hell too )

thank you very much!
I'm using the Saga LBC Mod and it's pretty quick. I've not ever had trouble with speed though, so it's not that big an issue for me. On my old Hero, however...

Read here!
Tried VoidU and noticed that its much faster for me then Virtuous Unity.
Got 2608 points in quadrant benchmark with the VoidU S ROM and the Unity v9 kernel
I would say Runny v1.4

I've tried all the ROMs by Proxuser, and in my opinion the best is currently the Runny v1.4.
Been using it regularly for a couple of days and have found it to be very smooth, stable, sense 3.5 is a dream come true, the RCMIX3D tweaks are done just right and the battery life is superb.
Would definitely recommend this one. VoidU is a good alternative too.

[Q] what is the most stable rom you downloaded ?

Hi ...
I'm trying to do my friend a favor by downloading a costume ics rom on his pyramid since he doesn't really like his stock rom , so my question is what is the most stable and non bugs rom for ics you advice me to download ? thanks a lot for the help guys
Custom ROMs
Since your friend is not happy with the stock ROM, you can give Android Revolution HD a miss, since it is as close to stock as one can get. Though it is rock solid & very stable.
You can go through this brilliant thread to have a look at the various ROMs available, the sense-less ROMs in particular:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613295
Do you want AOKP or sense 3.6 or 4? Cuz for sense for me it was ARHD.
but I've been using HyperSensation (AOKP) on and off for a while.
If you're looking for stability in general, I wouldn't go for sense 4 right now.
In the titles they have to advertise their stability, which isn't a really good sign IMO.
It depends if you want a stock look or a aosp look, I'm pretty sure for stock most people would recommend
this and for aosp it would be this or this the reason I didn't link you to cm9 or aokp based rom because they still have minor bugs which isn't technically 100% stable but if you don't mind those bugs and want a vanilla android feel get one of those.
P.s make sure you make a nandroid before flashing a rom.

ARHD is not wrong.
others you can try Ordriod.
The three most stable from my experiences are:
Arhd
Leedroid
Elegancia
(Ordroid is very close to getting there)
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
Most are stable unless they indicate beta!
Insert Coin is pretty good
I experimented with several ROM's including MikeHD OrDroid, Virtuious however for my preference and taste I Recommend LEEDroid Sensational 7.3.0 Many thanks to this fabulous developer!
Asianic v.2. Super stable, fast with every conceivable mod to choose from and great sound to boot.
I would say Virtuous Inquisition, never had any problems with it. OrDroid is almost there as well...
I've been running Ordroid 8.1.0 for a couple days now. It's pretty stable. It's crashed a couple times. Rebooted randomly once. But not much else if you're intested in sense 4.0. I might consider going back to Charmander and try that out for a longer period.
I've tried virtuous, its stable, however I'm liking beatsbygrogg its very stable too it has sence and virtuous is a sence less Rom , I get WiFi and hotspot. Its just a matter of personal taste. I think you should try out a few roms and see which one suits your own personal preference.
That's the fun part. Thank God for the developers to give us options, just try some and see what YOU prefer. Have fun.

Any full functional AOSP rom?

Suggest Fastest & Bug free ROM for Desire S

Please suggest Bug free and fastest ROM for Desire S
currently i am running
Android 4.0.3 HTC sense 4.0
ROM : CoolDroid v 6.1 Revolution
Kernel Version : 3.0.16g61209db
baseband : 20.4801.30.0822U3822.10.08.04m
that's a matter of opinion but the Roms that are most stable are the GB Roms, but like I say it's all a matter of opinion. 100 people= maybe 100 different answers. Read the Rom threads and try some, figure out what's best for you
sent from the thing I stab with my finger when I've got two minutes
My Opinion -
Fastest - Andromadus
Bug-Free - Any Sense 3.6 ROM based on official RUU/leak
Combination of speed and stability - Fallout
I tried Reaper V3 very fast but I couldn't pair the phone with my car kit so moved to Endymion_V3.5 which is great so far.
Endymion or Reaper.
Fallout or another 4.0 ROMS are not fast/smooth enough.
Why don't you just pick a few, flash them, try them out and then decide which is the best for you?
What suits somebody else might not suit others. For instance I currently need ICS but I don't want Sense because I think Vanilla looks much better, I also don't want a pile of crap on my phone at the start so I went with CM9 but somebody else may prefer Sense 3.6 or 4.0 so they choose a Sense ROM.
You can find out how buggy a ROM is just by reading the thread for it.
I personally am running
[ROM][May 23]Virtuous Saga v.1.0.0 [3.04.401.1][Sense 3.6 Android 4.0.4]
I like Virtuous ROMs, have been using Virtuous Unity before this one. Everything works fine.
In my opinion, the latest Andromadus JB is the fastest of all the 4.x roms I tried, definitely the smoothest. Other roms I tried were Fallout, ICE DS and Virtuous Saga.
I've tried almost every ICS ROM that's there in the development thread and I've found ICE DS the most stable and speedy out of all of them. I'm not even going to bother with GB in this case because it looks bad.
I recomend Fallout without doubs
Fallout with new oc kernel. Only problem with fallout is wifi hotspot

Good clean rom (ICS or JellyBean)

Heey xda people.
In a few days I am receiving my One S.
I have seen the stock ROM and by my opinion it is full with bloat-ware.
I would like to flash it with a good clean-andorid (ICS or Jellybean) rom.
Do you have any suggestions or recommendations ? I would be happy to hear that.
Thnx in advance.

Cm10 from xkonni is pretty stable anything not working I haven't found or don't use anyway

TD 7.1.0 all day everyday.
Everything works, fast and smooth and good battery life. What more do you need?
MIUI Sense based... All MIUI functionality whit some Sense applications (like camera and gallery)...very good Rom.
Sent whit HTC ONE S
If you're into sense
1. Venom sense ( this rom offered tweaks to your liking and customized icons...mostly everything, but still 100% sense)
2. Miui Sense (fast as ASOP, but you get sense camera and gallery and 100% customizable. You can changed anything to your liking). Update are every fridays...(Rebecca Black) LOL
3.Axioms S-less ( a strip down version of sense to get ASOP feeling)
JellyBean
MIUI Jellybean
CM10 by xkonni
however you have the list here.

Or get the latest CM10 nightlies from here. http://get.cm/?device=ville&type=nightly

best all around *stable* rom?

Ello lads,
I actually use an HTC DNA as my primary phone but bought a Sensation today for $20. It's already rooted and running on CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0-pyramid-UNOFFICIAL
Wondering if I should just leave it on that or is there a better(faster/stable) rom that's recommended? thanks!

From personal experience - all ICS ROMs are stable and very good for daily use. As for JB, Cyanogenmod ROMs are stable too (used albinoman's CM10.1 ROM for a couple of months, been a great experience), and people say CM10.2 is good as well.
As for Sense JB (Sense 4+, namely ViperS and Revelation), They work well, but might have some bugs here and there (It's a ported kernel, and is mostly functional, and from my experience with it (it's my daily driver) it's very good).
For the long runs CM10.1 seemed to run better for me, but that's my opinion.
Hoped I helped.
Bruce cm and sense 4+ rons are the most stable Rom out there , sultan. Is also unstable due to kernel and other cm too .
