Did the new sd card work at all for you?
Was it formatted as FAT32?

Can you use a file manager app like Astro to navigate and see any files on the sd?
Try reformatting the sd

Card errors.

I'm getting a lot of card unexpectedly removed errors. I was wondering if there is something known to cause this. I have reformatted the card a few times after experiencing this error using Windows 7. The card will work for a while, and then it happens again. I have a 16gb Sandisk card. It's only class 2. I wonder if it's the problem. I never had a single problem with it in my Tilt 2. I have about 9gb of music on it. I may scale that back to about 5gb. Also, when I place files on the card using the card reader rather than directly onto the phone in USB mode, I seem to get better results. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I've got the same card with the exact same issue. It's enough to make me want to pull my hair out I do know that

I used to have that problem till i switched ROM s. Try Leedroid's, TB fusion, or Cm7 nightlies with Lord mod ue kernel. I had no issues with those.

[Q] External SD Card issues

Not sure if anyone else ahs had this problem, but all of a sudden, out of no where my external sd card doesn't work... like when i go to contacts and want to export them to it, it isn't there. Only sim card and send namecard via... Then yesterday, it randomly started working again, and then i took it out of my phone and put it back in to see something, and it stopped working again. Anyone know what i can do?
That actually happened to me and my dads Infuse, the thing is...idk the actual cause i thouht it was mecanical damage to the spot where the sd card holds, but then i solved my problem buying another sd card (not a cheap ebay one like before)
My dads infuse never read it back and had to get a replacement so change your sd card if that doesnt work ask for a replacement.
Hope it helpa

SD-Booster

I've been playing around w/ the SD booster in ROM toolbox and wanted to see what other people were using for settings. I have a 64gb class 10 Sandisk card and bumped up the cache to 1024kb. I mainly use the card for storing pictures, movies, and games.

2048 is thought to be the sweet spot for class 10 cards.
I tried that same setting in my SGS with a 32 get card and noticed no difference. But about 2 weeks or so later, the phone suddenly began giving me messages saying my card was ready to remove. It would come back on and work fine, then do it again. I finally pulled it out and haven't been able to recover any of the 1000s of pictures I had taken.

I've been running 2048 since the first 32 GB class 10 cards came out. Running 64 GB now with no issues. Some of the cards were bad. Others have to do with rom and kernel.

Music app/ External SD acting funny

So....I got a 64gb SD card for my M8. I had my music on my internal SD but decided to free up space by making use of the 64gig card.
I deleted everything off of my internal (music-wise) and used a SD adapter and dragged and dropped about 5gb of music onto my card (in a folder I named Music).
My Sense Music app doesn't play the songs. Well...it plays but no sound. Sound is fine after frantically testing via Pandora, YouTube and Google Music.
After a few reboots and an overnight settle, still no dice. I'm fine as long as Google music plays my stuff that's on my device...but geez. What a weird problem.
Anyone else get that? Care to try?
I have a new sandisk ultra 64gb micro SD card. Class 10 and all that jazz.

Kit Kat, which is the operating system on the M8 does not play well with Ext. Cards.
Check out this thread and try the solution in my last post.

I had the exact same problem you're describing. I fixed it by flashing the BoneStock ROM. Now all is working and I have this awesome ROM that is a pleasant improvement over stock Sense 6.
+1 on the bone stock rom, easy way to solve a lot of these issues. Otherwise, root, insecure kernel, then run sd fix app.

Performance of SD card is not good enough

Hi,
In Camera mode, I'm getting the message: Performance of SD card is not good enough, please switch to internal storage.
My SD was working fine with the HTC U11, & first few days with 11+
I've updated the phone via OTA, then a couple days later, it happened with the SD card message.
I've copied files back & forth between the SD card & my laptop, everything is working as usual.
Also, during a phone call, when I hit speaker, it's just not really working.
Does anyone get similar issue?
Thanks!
Do a factory reset , maybe it will solve it

Yes i have had exactly the same problem
HTC have now said its a problem with the card that i'm using and they have replicated it at their end
i'm using Kingston class 10 cards....their recommendation is to use ditto San Disk
Use Class 10 UHS-II Card.

I also get the same issue. Anyone found a solution yet? Or has anyone used a particular microSD card that doesnt give this error?
Edit: To those who are having this issue, what microSD card are you using? Lets see if this issue is caused by certain types/brand of microSD cards...
I had a 8gb either Samsung or Kingston in it and received this error message. I have since put a 16gb SanDisk in and no error message as yet.
I use sd card ss evo 64gb and it's good performance for me.
