Step one is backup your current rom. Not doing that is just being stupid and begging for problems. There is now way that can "kill something in your phone."
You might be refering to step two, flashing custom mtd. If you don't know how to undo this, read before you flash. Either flash the convenient fr-remove zip provided on firerats custom mtd thread, or reflash your recovery.
There is nothing there that can kill your phone. The dream and sapphire are kinda hard to kill. The only way I know of to kill them is flash the wrong radio or spl. Or hit it with something heavy. Everything else can be recovered from easily.
Screenshots? detailed notes? I don't think I could flash something blindly like this without sufficient detailed information and a few screenshots of this thing working.

AFAIK removing SD wont make any difference as flashing replaces system files or adds them .. i believe this is working on CM10 and PA .. i havent tested on official JB .. if you are on CM10 or PA you should see option for switching to touchwiz launcher when you press home key..

It's very simple mod, you must be replace the "keyguard.apk" in /system/priv-app and set the permission (see the screen shot)

Is there a way to revert to stock if I try? Also is it possible to make a flashable zip? Cheers
Also can you test if it works with this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...mctr=(not provided)&__utmv=-&__utmk=193112110
Sent from my LG-D802
Yep, you must replace the old keyguard.apk (if you haven't, i can post it)
It's possibile, i'll do! ✌
Edit: the mod that you have linked is so fantastic, i'll try to port to us lg g2 cm11

Why not just try it and see for yourself? The time it took to wait you could have tried it already.

Just concerned about a continuous system FC.
Don't want to have to reflash a ROM just to try this.
Bit it does look nice.

Looks pretty nice.
Just an update. Having some problems with it now. Some times I can't unlock the phone. Have to open camera to get into the device. I'll likely go back to normal

Here is the link to the .IMG files here
I had to add the V10 as a device, but its for the V20.
This is the same stock TOT that was uploaded before by @meraz9000. I just extracted the files for those who were having issues like me. I hope this helps someone get root and other things working.
thanks to everyone who helped me get the files extracted.
If you like my work, feel free to donate and support my buddy
Or just hit the thanks button:victory:
Just to be clear, these files may not work. The stock TOT softbricks the device is you try and flash it so it could be a problem with these files.

I was just using these for the system.img personally. I didnt know if these would help anyone else wanting to make something or help with root.
Im a themer, im not looking to make a whole rom myself. way too much work, did that before and dont have time to do it again.
yes, do not flash anything here...these files are only for those that know what to do with them
Flashable or not, it's good to have a place to turn for convenient, clean copies of files (like /system/bin/applypatch) that may or may not have been overwritten sans backup by silly users like myself. Thanks!

dirtycow by itself does not replace files on the mmc! those files are entirely original still, they're only replaced in your active memory.
you can simply reboot and everything will be back to normal.
that being said, I did find a way to actually write to recovery partitions with dirtycow...
So how do we test?

Then, I install TWRP and do a format data (justo to be sure). Then when I flash magisk I get the following line:

As you might see, everything normal... Then, I flash the "no verify" file (no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1) and also, all seems pretty normal:

The thing is, I get a softbrick when I reboot (even though I flash the "no verify file").

In English: the message says something as: "unable to reboot due to an issue during the verification process". And then the phone brickes like this:

Is this a new security measure or somethiong?
Again, thanks for reading me
Did you flash just the AP from the new firmware ? Or did you have the boatloader and the csc and cp too? Flash everything. You need all the things not just AP. And also. Before you flash anything else. Try to flash magisk.

That error is telling us that your boot image is not stock so that means you need to flash the bootloader for your firmware along with other things that come with it. AP, cp, csc,bl,userdata. Things like that. My advice, use samfirm and download it through that. If you don't know what that means. I won't bother lol[emoji23][emoji23]
